Living with a MINI Electric - Daily drive - How far can it go on a single charge?

Had the opportunity to drive the MINI Cooper SE LCI 2 (also known as the MINI Electric) for almost a week. Tested the range on a single charge by doing my daily commute. Covered a total distance of 145km and a total on the road driving time of 6 hours (70% stuck in traffic jams) and still had a balance of 33% battery left. The car should be able to do 180km on a single charge with ease. But what surprised me was how enjoyable the car is to drive it daily. With its fantastic acceleration, nippy handling and small size, driving it in town was a real joy, parking it in narrow spaces was easy as well. All in all, I think its the perfect electric car for city driving.

Having watched a bunch of these reviews. Canadians / Rocky Mountain Americans bad Range. Malaysians / Indonesians good Range. Live in a hot, humid environment and this is a good EV.

love your review i wonder whether they will update a new version with higher battery capacity any sooner?

Thank you, glad you enjoyed the review. There is no news of that happening yet, but I hope they do. However with the current capacity it is enough if you plan to use it for city driving.

how about the driving dynamics compared to cooper S 3 doors in spirited drive?
@infernoelise
@infernoelise Год назад
Hi Eric, for spirited drives the Cooper S 3 door handles a little bit better than the Electric. This is possibly due to its lower weight and different suspension tuning. As of today, my fastest Genting run time is still held by the 3 door Cooper S.

Did you get the maintenance packages, and if so, could you please tell us if you believe it was worth the money?
@infernoelise
@infernoelise Год назад
Hi there, our car comes with the 4 year warranty (unlimited mileage) and free servicing for 4 years or 60k km which ever comes first. Looking back at it, maybe we don't really need the service package as there is nothing much to service and the service interval is almost 2 years compared to about 10k km for the regular petrol engine car. But having the 4 year warranty on parts is definitely worth it if you are going to drive it frequently.

@@samusaran7317 It beats several Tesla and much more expensive cars in overall economy per mile for 1/2 or 1/3 the price. What do you believe are good numbers? Of course any EV is miles ahead of non hybrid ICE vehicles.
