Champion netballer and sports commentator Liz Ellis AO, is among some of Australia’s most inspiring women who are raising their voices to empower 1,000 girls.
Liz led the Australian Diamonds to victories in the Netball World Cup and the Commonwealth Games and has coached thousands of young netballers. She knows firsthand about the grit and resilience of girls facing tough challenges.
In this video, Liz raises her voice for girls by sharing the story of Parvina, who became a refugee at age nine when her family fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh. Parvina married illegally at 15 and had a baby soon after. Her wish for other girls is that they can have a better life.
World Vision is calling on Australians to join Liz in our movement to sponsor 1,000 girls by 11 October, International Day of the Girl. You can help rewrite the story of a vulnerable girl. #1000girls
