This woman's vocals on this track are supernatural. The word excellent doesn't describe it. Deep, soulful, seductive, sincere, romantic & powerful in its eloquence. Despite some comparisons to others I hear true originality. She's creative in how she simply applies her phrasing to the lyric. I thought only this track may have been magical. I was wrong. She has many, many tracks that follow this route. I love listening with headphones and eyes closed. Her voice is worth the time to enjoy.

First hearing the song on Crossing Jordan. As soon as I heard her voice I immediately googled to find who was singing. Beautiful, melodious and soothing voice. WOW. 2021. I'm listening now.
I work at a coffee shop and this song gets me through each morning, especially the tough ones. I actually had to look up all jazz songs with "the ground" in the title, as when I asked my colleague (she isn't english mother tongue) she was only able to read me "in the ground" so that was all the info I got. But god, the satisfaction when I finally found it.

I got here by checking out long strings from Live at Daryl's House, most recently featuring Kandace Springs and wow! so many new (to me) artist with amazing voices. This lovely lady is right up there with the best of 'em. So fine.
I heard this song years ago, but didn't know the Artist. I have been a lover of Lizz Wright now for about 5 years. Beautiful and soulful don't come close to describing her.
