Playlist here: ru-vid.com?p=PL7... Imagine! Already MORE THAN Quarter Century old, video & audio still very good as tape was (still is!!) of EXCELLENT quality !! (Tape was manufactured in JAPAN!! ) LKY meets the foreign press! Part 1
The five eye and western nations deep down look down and thinks everyone else is inferior even if it’s a democracy nation, it’s an inferior democracy, that’s they they go around finding fault and beating down others to maintain superiority 😢. Pure hypocrisy. Now 2022, they are so unchallenged and unscrupulous that they even make up fake accusation and narrative to beat down others, just because they can in the world majority media which they have monopoly of.
Kinda sad to see that we haven't learned anything, 24 years later, 2008 crisis because they stopped regulating banks. Lee Kuan Yew calls it out here, banks should be regulated but they didn't listen.
In the midst of financial liberalization and deregulation as advocated by neo-liberalism of late 70s and 80s, LKY remained clear headed and understood the underlying issues. He remains prudent and required banks to lower exposure to debt and potential bad debts.
well, he is the best politician in the world , well respected , great integrity and for those opposition supporters , you guys are always insult , arrogant with hooligan attitude and you think the 60% would want such opposition? JUST WAIT LONG LONG
He is fantastic. But I will question these days why he has to agree to such a session. What are these five eye nation media trying to dig and find fault and what right have they to request such a session. They are not just curious, they deep down looking down and looking for reason and area to condemn to make themselves feel superior. There is a strong element of looking down in their culture, hence the questioning of what they consider a inferior democracy. Can you imagine today, if the request from Chinese Media, Singapore media, Indonesian, and India, and Africa, and Mexico, try and organize a questioning of Sunak or Biden (any of the five eye individually) of their action and ask them to answer to their actions and policies on live TV …. What they accuse theses nations and they will never agree to it….Hypocrisy of these western Anglo Saxon media and evil narrative.
Colonial mindset, whether it's because of a superiority complex or whether they are just virtue signalling they believe their "journalism" some how is contributing to society. They thank they are right (the almighty beacon of proessiveness), they have an agenda to push and thus they have to make a narrative out of it because its what gets them attention.
when he is throwing out figures on the questions of wages at 23:00, i suspect no one understands his answer, but they just agree coz its so comprehensive.
LKY is knowledgeable in the mass media field. Probably picked this up when he worked for the Imperial Japanese Army’s Kempeitai forces, during the war.
Why Does the Financial Times of London , Mr Sherwell, ask the SAME Questions that LKY has already Addressed ? 06.17 ? Is Mr Sherwell unable to fully comprehend English ?
It is sad that he talked about race and made comparison (time code:14.00) between races and singled out the Malay community and emphasised that Malay candidates were far more inferior than other candidates. LKY has successfully managed to cast racial stereotype that still lingers to this day in Singapore. After watching this interview, I no longer feel that his answers are stupendous and that people should be overly awed by the man's intellect.
But to be honest, it is a hypothetical scenario he has consider. We cannot be so naive as to believe that this may or may not be an issue. As a leader of state, right or wrong, he has to consider the different denominations in this fashion. To leave such situations to pure chance....I don't believe leaders of state can leave things to such chance. I thought he framed the dilemma quite intelligently.
Speaking of facts does not mean to cast racial stereotypes. I could say that the African Americans in USA are less educated and are more probable to commit crimes but that does not mean i discriminate against them or am i being racist. Its just to merely speak of the statistics and facts. What's sad is not what Lee Kuan Yew said, but the people who interpreted his words that way and acted as such. Regardless, its only natural to be that way. People live and work not to lose but win. You'd always want to take the safer and easier path. I'd always choose to avoid areas that are publicly unsafe regardless of the race or the community of the people living in it. It may be black, white, chinese or malay but it does not mean that i am racist or discriminating. I wouldn't comment on LKY's intellect but i am very well sure that a perspective or judgement made that is not rigorous or unbiased by opinionated sentiments is not an intelligent or a fair thing to do.
LKY didn’t play the game of political correctness and pander to snowflakes. He depended on facts and spoke facts, regardless of how uncomfortable it made you.
