@@lesslethalfordummies.68 seems to be a funny size. I've started getting chrome steel balls on temu. I know you probably need a steel barrel. You can get 100 .50 for a few dollars! I get .43 or .50 to make my own .68 molds. I know your up on all this, but just wanted to mention temu. Cheap as chips as we say over the pond! 😉
Great video! I am not sure why the JulV3’s perform a little better. They are said to be exactly the same as per Kurt. Just steel instead of copper infused for magnetism. 🤷♂️
All the Alien play aluminum balls ive got ( about 900) usually average .678,about the same for the plastic balls also,But i think ill order a .680 barrel to use strictly for all those balls..gonna try to stay away from the hp68 rounds ive got,think they are the culprit of breaking detents..been getting 85 joules average with the hd24 heat core chamber and 1100psi with the ( 2) CQMF's..some people are saying i should get a M17 A2 and ill be able to go Much,Much higher in joules and pressures..The CQMF seems to have a bit of CAST METAL internal Parts and on my first Well Used CQMF,the Cast Metal parts are starting to show the Wear..So,ya think i should add a M17 for the bridge to higher joules and continued experimenting on higher pressures??Most say i should.
Which detents are you using? There is only one weak spot in the CQ and it is where the bolt bushing/stop is affixed inside the DERP. The failure seems to be most prevalent when the screws securing the DERP halves together loosen allowing movement which leads to a fracture. Best advice is check the screws and red loctite them. I sold my CQ a while back in favour of another M17. I just like it better. Lighter and had proven reliability.
I was actually told never to fire aluminum or steel balls in your launchers as they can scratch up the interior of the barrel. What do you think??? Can aluminum and steel balls damage your launcher?
I havent found them too cause any issues unless they are too larger and are scraping their way down your barrel. Should be oiling your marker every co2 or every hpa tank. That is sufficient lube for the barrel so long as bore sizing is correct.
Try keeping your barrel coated with spray graphite which spays on, then the solvent quickly evaporates leaving a nice uniform coating of graphite lube!
I don't do less leathal, but I like a good head scratcher. 1- bulk fill upside down co2 might not be ideal. (Observation) 2- Make the poke hole bigger instead of restrictor. (Theory) 3-shoot it upside down.(test)
1) i can maybe try this with 90g. Biggest bulk i have. 2) the poke hole is pretty larger already. Larger than the restrictor hole so dont believe it will make a difference. I do have spare caps tho. 3) Easy one and worth trying just to see how it handles some liquid first before try 1 & 2.
I live in Chicago. I have a CCW and my 9mm hold 18rds. I holster it to the left and have a 1.8 draw, I also have a less lethal concealed center front. I have had 3 car jack attempts. As I would get out, I pulled the less lethal and the skid marked away without a pull of the trigger. I have it se for 1 steel, 2 pepper,1 dye and the rest steal. I am not in favor of killing someone if I can avoid it, hence less lethal despite CCW. I I were to be in a store being held up.. would it by wise to use lethal as my first choice? Would the less lethal work as quickly to stop the holdup ? I dont know the answer, I know the legalities.. I worry I am just going to get the guy mad and he is going to fire on me... My shots will hit him. I avidly train weekly. My family thinks I am obsessed with home and family protection. All my safes are biometric and their prints can open them. I have trained. I also made a biometric AR 15 holder that is vertical to the side of my bed. Locked and loaded, but without my print..useless.... The first nois from out side my family yells at me to get my gun ( the guns they do not think I should have).. I tell them to get it themselves. I have 16 motion activated cameras that would lock on a target and turn on my 63" security screen. Yup, we dont need guns except when they think we need them.. please mr robber, do you mid if I go buy a gun and come back in 3 days ? But would you trust a non lethal in a store setting with a know lethal weapon?
It is good to have options and it sounds like you have more training and options than most people have. Does LL make sense in a store robbery? My first opinion is a flat out no. There are many questions to ask yourself if LL is even a viable option on the table. Do they have a firearm? Do you have a firearm? Should you get involved at all? Are you or others perceived to be actively threatened and/or in imminent danger? These are not easy choices to make and i do not believe there is one right answer for everyone except for the most trained professionals.
Sean, do you have any of the .68 cal rubber-steel balls(7g), flat finish, found on both Canada & USA Amazon? I found the S-Type to be slightly larger. The reason being is to meet halfway to get the best results. A larger diameter, but still weighing aluminum ball weight to match the S2 needs for maximum performance.😊
I would have to go through my box of projectiles. Rubber may work well in this. There was another fellows channel where he got some Riot Balls that were 11g and 0.689 bore. I would like to squeeze some of those through some barrels i got.
@@lesslethalfordummiesSean, the new Grimberg Jul V3s are 8g, which is close to aluminum, but larger diameter. That's basically what I was looking for in the first comment. Did you get any yet???
