Hello John Two things first a big thanks for the time and effort you put in that benefits all of us. Second, I would ask you to reconsider the idea of painting the yellow saber launcher to black. There was a situation had accured in New York City about a year ago. A good guy showed up his black pepper ball launcher . He tried to help someone being robbed. The police also showed up simultaneously and see a guy with a black gun shooting and they shoot him dead If that launcher was yellow, just like their launchers the police would not have mistaken it for real handgun Safety safety safety! We should not be here to make our weapons look cool. Yellow is for a purpose send a message this weapon is less lethal. Thanks again for all your hard work😅 Dan Houston ,Tx

Now I really want to know more about this mystery launcher that can do 60 Joules and if you'll be carrying them. I'm also very curious about the LTL Charlie as the Bravo has been a really nice EDC launcher and I want to see a demonstration of it compared to the Bravo. Also have you talked to Umarex about their 35-40 Joules Shottie and if they'll let you demo it on your channel?

@6:39 This is why it's called PRACTICE! 💁🙈🙈🙈 I posted this before on another... I like both launchers and have no problem, remembering how to charge either one, however, I do like the safety feature on the Sabre that by not screwing in the cartridge seat screw I know it's not charged, AND as a mental note "do i want to do this?", vs not knowing if it's charged or wtf, I guess it's ready... 🙈😵‍💫🤔😳😬😵‍💫💁💁 Again I like both launchers very much, but the importance of proper-quality-practice, and having to do that second thought of "should I charge this" is an important and critical move between trying to be cool vs game on! If it were me, I would love to see a fire-pull safety pin like we have on our bottles in the military. Whether it not that pin has been pulled, you ALWAYS consider the device is charged and ALWAYS treat it as such. This mod is a very simple fix and would solve my only issue with the Salt S2 charging method. Thanks again for another awesome and informative video! 👍👍👍

There could be a design feature where there is a rip cord connected to holster that will activate the puncture mechanism. Rip cord would be detachable for non emergency use.

I have to agree, Definitely S2. On a different note...I have some Good News. It appears that I was Wrong...Umarex DID come out with New Stuff for 2024. I Stand Corrected. They have just Introduced their Gen 2 TR50 in 13 J at the IWA Outdoor Classics in Germany, which is the European version of ShotShow. The New TR5O has a few Upgrades besides the Power. It now has Fiber Optic Front and Rear Sights and the Push Pin on the bottom of the grip has a feature to quickly De-gas the Launcher. Also the Texture of the grip is just like the HDR68. Looks very nice. Also they have a New Gen 2 HDP50 in 13 J as well. Hope that this bit of GOOD News makes your day.

Personally I would much rather have a less than lethal device like these in yellow, orange, something other than black. I don’t want it being mistaken for a real firearm.
@AlternateArmsSD
@AlternateArmsSD 5 месяцев назад
There are a lot of people that feel this way brother. Also, there are some cities, counties, and even states that require that they be some other color than black. However, that doesn’t mean I have to change the color to black :-) I’m actually very curious about what I can get out of this one.

@@AlternateArmsSD I am not too surprised 🙏🏼😒🤣 The typical colors I have seen for training is some bit of orange on the device. …I am still getting the bright (ideally orange), glow in the dark, color. Ideally something they are conditioned to know and trained to know that it is not a “real” gun.

Hi John. I've missed so many of these head-to-head videos over the past year, so I'm way behind. Do you have a top-ten overall favorite launcher ranking, and could you post it here? And is Byrna still one of your favorites, or has it been out-hustled by these newcomers? God Bless!

@@AlternateArmsSD That's understandable. This S2 is a beast, and it's still affordable. I love stopping power and the sound it makes. I'm not opposed to getting an actual firearm, but until I do, a non-lethal alternative is a must.
@Joreel
@Joreel 5 месяцев назад
@@1962TimI'm with you on this. I have no issue with using a 9mm if needed, but in most cases the liability of using a firearm isn't worth the risk, whereas the use of less than lethal launcher is probably all you'll need to get out of the situation.

Just had a look at the LTL Charlie and I got to say It's looking very tasty. But lttle disappointed in the 5 round magazine for a .50cal. Could work with a moderator and if extended the mag by one round. The reason for the loading system is I believe to give more room to the Air chambers. That's how they maintain the realistic look and scale to real firearms and allow for power output.
@AlternateArmsSD
@AlternateArmsSD 5 месяцев назад
Yeah, I was a little concerned about the five round magazine as well but, if it’s anything like the salt supply, perhaps it can be hot loaded with one extra round in the detent. We shall see :-)

as usual Jon, another great video. the grip safety my be a bad choice for some older people with hand strength problems. the PDP can wait, I think the PPQ is way better. and might buy another and get bug you for some upgraded magazines for them. went on Byrna's sight 2 days ago and see that the EP is no longer there. and went on Mercury Rise's sight and see that the MUB43 is no longer there ( nor the magazines for them). as far as front loading ,well it does make for a longer pistol. grip loading magazines would make them more compact. and I think these launchers need to be more compact. a MUB43 with a grip loading magazine holding like 6 rounds would have been next to perfect. it seems like they are trying to avoid making them compact and carriable on purpose.
@AlternateArmsSD
@AlternateArmsSD 5 месяцев назад
Well, I know there are 2 companies that have a smaller factor 68 on the horizon. It feels like we are in a power race. Everyone is trying to squeeze the maximum power out of them. We have a great year ahead!
@Joreel
@Joreel 5 месяцев назад
Byrna stopped making the EP for some reason that they aren't discussing, but if the reviews are anything to go by, it could be because people were very unhappy that the first shot was always 50% strength and the first shot should be your most powerful shot. Maybe they're redesigning it for a relaunch or maybe they just weren't selling very well so Byrna cut its losses... We honestly don't know.

Depending on your budget, the HDP 50 modified is the most budget, friendly high-powered launcher. If you don’t care about your budget, then I would look at the salt supply for sure, Byrna, and perhaps Grimburg (I can’t really testify to Grundberg’s abilities as I haven’t had one test yet, but I’m working on it)

Received my S2 2 days ago & I am 100% satisfied, was not expecting the power it puts out even with 7.7g aluminum rounds. I’ll be carrying mine alongside my edc actual firearm (Glock 26). I do have 2 questions for you brother… my co2 got stuck/wouldnt come out after I used it up & released the access (only happened one time out of the 7 cartridges I ran through it). Is this a normal occurrence? & could you do a video or explain briefly the maintenance/cleaning? It’s nothing in the handbook about maintaining the gun. I appreciate your content & feedback ✊
