Bit of a surprise this one! I don't really have any interest in fresh water fishing so was just going to miss this one out.....but, I watched it all, fascinating!! Probably sit and watch the grayling one now 🥈🎣
We love all kinds of fishing and with trout fly fishing being Phil’s bread and butter growing up it is only natural that we get a few videos of it. We are glad you enjoyed it. Thanks Chris 👍🏼
It’s an awesome place. Many doubles are caught every year (including lots already this year). I also like the single large fly method but on this occasion the fish had been under a fair bit of pressure in the week leading up to it and we find slightly smaller flies pick more up in that scenario. Thanks for watching
I'm jealous man! Those are some beautiful fish! We have rainbow trout where I live but for the most part they are stocked. Looking forward to more videos buddy!
These fish are also stocked but due to being grown on in the reservoir itself they are in excellent condition. There are many fish that don’t get caught in the first year they are released and then overwinter. They grow their fins back to perfection and are truly beautiful, fit fish. Thanks for watching!
Cheers Mick. We don’t fish for sea trout sorry. Most of the sea trout rivers are in west wales and we are in South East Wales. We don’t have the right kit or rod licences for Sewin and also the time is an issue. We struggle to fit our fishing in at the moment as it is so sea trout are not an option sadly 👍🏼
@@BanditFishingUK can't beat the dry flies in the summer mate! Never no might see you on a mark soon as I fish a lot of the marks you and Lloyd do 👍 Always watch the videos nice to see some local boys fishing doing the sport we all cherish! 👍🐟
Great video, really enjoyed it Phil. Do you ever combine both? I mean salt water flyfishing? I do quite a bit of it especially for GG's. The sea fishing videos are great and would really like to see more with the fly too.
Thanks for watching Dan. I’ve only done very limited saltwater fly fishing to be honest. I’ve fished Loughor and caught some lovely mullet with the odd flounder on small dabbler style flies. I’ve never tried on the open beach but it’s always in the back of my mind in the summer. Maybe I’ll give it a go when the golden greys come in soon. They are a great scrap on spinning gear but I bet they are awesome on the fly. Cheers!
Fly fishing was what I did most growing up and in to my early twenties. I used to love both the pleasure and competition scene. Biting the line is terrible for your teeth and will cut groves in to them if you are not careful. Thanks for watching Ian 👍🏼
