Mr. Pratt, You are amazing! You treat your customer as if they are family or pretty darn close! By that, I mean with respect! I hate to admit this, but I came from California and moved to Oregon! Missouri reminds me of Oregon and so do the people! They are polite and respectful! But i digress! I love your videos and I thank the good Lord that I have many more video's to watch and learn from! Bless you and your family! Oh yes! You and your wife have done an incredible job Raising Talon and Ethan! So very polite and respectful! Now back to your videos!

Ron, that is a great idea for ALL tow companies. I watch "HIGHWAY THRU HELL" that follows Jamie Davis Motor Truck from Hope, BC, Canada and Jamie uses flagger/support trucks (4 doorToyota Tundra for him, you look more like an F-150 guy) for traffic control and also for simple breakdown response. He has the standard emergency light bars but also a "flip up" arrow/message board on these trucks. The flagger trucks also deploy "CAUTION" or "ACCIDENT" orange diamond signs on Jamie's crew. Its an idea to help the highway heroes stay safe.

Hi Ron. Firefighter in the UK here. Love the videos. Watching you pick the cones up had my heart in my mouth. I ALWAYS have my crew pick the cones up from the truck end first so that the cones still protect them as they collect them and they face oncoming traffic Likewise we set them out the opposite way ( as you did). Stay safe.

Great video as always, thanks! Couple of thoughts on how to improve the truck though: 1. Make it an extended cab, and install a switch to move the driver and passenger seats back 18". This would allow you to get out easily and comfortably on the passenger side when parked on the side of a freeway. Expensive mod, yes, but cheaper than a funeral! ;) 2. Mount a wifi or wireless camera in the rear light bar that you attach to the rear of the towed vehicle - makes backing much easier!! 3. Some slide out lights on the drivers side of the vehicle. Lets assume a broken down semi in the emergency lane (right) with a full size reefer. You pull in front of him, your lights are all hidden for oncoming drivers. A simple extension pole that can slide out the light to extend 1-5 feet beyond the truck would push drivers into the next lane without giving then anything to hit, especially if they are 14 feet up!! Look at the mirror extensions used by trucks that haul mobile homes and you'll see what I mean! Keep up the great work, enjoying the channel!!

Your truck reminds me of a 26' Penske truck I brought back from Jacksonville, FL to Fort Walton Beach, FL. with a full car hauler attached. On the way back I stopped at the I-10 Truckstop I parked next to an 18 wheeler. The driver commented I was parked in the wrong place and I asked him if he'd included my trailer. He said he had not even seen in, but when he found out I was longer than his truck. He asked me if I thought I could do a test for them. He called three of his buddies and said he has a guinea pig,. They set a truck parked along a wall, then once I parked they pulled another in behind me and put one even with the front truck. Now you know where this is going, I was to get my truck and trailer out of the spot I was in. I did just what they had not expected me to do. I slowly backed the truck up so as to not set the trailer brakes, and pulled out of the hole they had left me. They had the surprise of their lives, they had never seen a car hauler backed up without setting the brakes. I told them if you go very slowly, those brakes will not set, any other way and they would. They bought my dinner, and I continued the trip back toward Fort Walton Beach. I stopped in front of my house and Dad came out to look at how long that thing was. A 26' box plus 19' to the front bumper, now add the 28' car hauler. 73 feet long Yes I agree there are some corners that can't be taken or should not be taken when driving what seems like the box of a semi-forward and the cab as the trailer. Here's a quirk in the Florida driving law, I can drive that 26' box truck without having a Class A CDL, [although I've had mine since 1975], the limit is to 26001 pounds on a Class D drivers license. I've driven things you most likely haven't even given a thought to like the 6 wheel front wheel drive road grader that we used to take to the top of a 326' high hill. The road was coral rock and the blade was set 1 degree inwards when driving both ways. Coming down you feel like you are standing up, it's nearly that steep. I've driven a US Forest Service Fire Truck that had 5000 gallons of water in it to a fire. Started the machinery and started into where the fire was using a 45-degree spray moving the nozzle in small circles. The fire was put out and the area around where it had started was well saturated with water. The chief of the Security for the complex came and got a thorough spraying down before he was told that I had warned the gate guard I would be bringing a fire truck onto the property, do not lower the gate, I'll drive straight through it. And I did. He was fit to be tied when the guard admitted lowering the gate and that I had driven through it on my way to a fire. That little fiasco cost the Security detail $5000.00 to replace.

Been binge watching for a few days now. And i have a suggestion. Detroit Wrecker sales has a sneaker lift. Why not get a pick up with that lift for light duty and double it as a blocker vehicle for busy roads like this interstate.

When I worked at Scotto's in California-- Oscar - the older guy that drove the Rotator-- would come in all tired- and I told him once- "Oscar, I'm going to buy you a MOPED".. and he said " A moped? WHAT FOR?" and I said " to ride from one end of that big truck to the other!!" ha. Always teased him about it having its own Zip code!!

Is it amazing that how strong the parts are, that they are held in place by small pins, bolts or screws. The retaining pins on your outreach riggers are a good example.
