Well done. I picked this game up launch day and just picked up a new along box copy today. I dont think the game can hold my interest for hours like it did 25 years ago...but I'm glad to have it in my collection again.
4:37 I love how casual the dev is with answering that first question..." *Running around and killing people is fun and cool* " The 90s were something else, man. If you know, you know.
I’ve seen mentions of this game before and here but this is the first time I’ve gotten to learn of this in greater detail. Honestly makes me wish I was around to enjoy it at its Prime but hey, least I could put it on my PlayStation Classic.
I can't remember exact details, but I remember I played Re:Loaded and was really disappointed with it, then was really surprised to see that Loaded had actually been a better game
I remember playing Loaded A LOT on my PlayStation. lol And yeah ReLoaded wasn't that hot. The only thing I can really remember is the gameplay was off. They changed some of the gameplay mechanics from the original Loaded and they weren't that good. Also the graphics were odd.
This, along with the first RE, were the reasons I was BEGGING for a PlayStation back in 1995. (Think I did get one for a birthday around 1996). In hindsight, while this game isn't perfect...and you were very fair about pointing out the flaws in it...I am kind of surprised that with the twin-stick shooter renaissance that we are currently in, no one has thought about creating a current "Loaded" follow up.
Yeah it would be cool to see it pop up with modern controls digitally. I always wanted this game based solely off the magazine ads. Did you get a chance to play it before you got a PS1 or did the ads get you hyped too? Lol
@flizzzipper I think it was a mix of the ads, and seeing that vintage PS1 longbox at a local rental store. Usually the samples I had of the Playstation were Battle Arena Toshinden, or Warhawk.
man my early childhood memories is of that disc... at like 3-4 diddnt know what to do diddnt like the game 25 now... i traded it to my dads buddy for 2 big ass stacks of the old school demo discs when i was 4... Nostalgic
Missed this game. Not sure why. Maybe busy with other games. But picked up 1 and 2 disc only today. Checking out your reviews. Nice to see a fellow Michigander on RU-vid.
Well done! I'm always watching gaming videos, often reviews, and you gave every answer I needed! Keep it up, your channel will keep growing. It just grew by one sub :)
I got this game in a bag of old games from somewhere. I had no case or idea wtf the game was.. just said "Loaded". It waS AWESOME, but i couldnt get past level 1. Absolute maze.
Good to know I wasn’t the only one that thought Cap’n Hands was the only viable choice. Great video, good editing, tasteful amount of humor. I can see this channel getting big one day.
I've always referred to games like this as "Alien Syndromelikes" because the gameplay is basically identical to Alien Syndrome. Which is good because that game is awesome and so is this game
Run the game in the DuckStation emulator and crank up the CPU speed to 300% for a rock solid 60 fps. And crank up the CD read & seek speed to 3x for super low loading times. This is how I'm playing and couldn't be happier. The visuals are nice and crisp. Lovin' it so far.
Loaded was a great game. Though I haven't played the game in 20 years I think it would still hold up today....as a great retro game. I found it more fun than Robotron or Smash TV.
The respawning enemies killed the game for me lol. I was probably too young to get around it efficiently i guess. Dark with light only from shooting was annoying. I think you lose your boosted weapon when you run out of ammo....even if you get more ammo. I could be wrong cuz its been years😅
