I totally agree with developing and maintaining a rapport with your favorite dealer. When you buy a piece of equipment from an independent dealer, you're not just buying a piece of equipment but the dealer as well. They will always take care of their customers. This is why I steer people away from buying mowers at big box, you don't get service after the sale with big box.
Here is a crazy idea for you. either use a label maker or a marker/ paint pen to write on the cover "remove safety chain before lifting trailer". You have to lift the cover to get to the control so it is a natural place to mark it. Great video, especially about the importance about a great dealer relationship.
No Doubt, A Dealer You Can Trust Makes A Huge Difference. All Things Mechanical Will Fail And When They Do The Wrong Dealer Can Cost Much More Money, With Parts and Down Time to Factor In, You Are At Their Mercy. Keep It Safe Out There!
We bought the toro swivel buggy last week. It was a pretty big purchase for us but we plan on using it for concrete pouring and to haul material between fences. We live in northeast Jersey so there are a lot of tight areas here. The best thing about this machine IMO is it’s FAST!! The controls are really comfortable for people with big hands, not so much for people with small hands. Also has an auto return feature for the bucket. So with one click it goes down automatically, the swivel doesn’t have the auto return feature though. I can’t say much other than those 3 things since we got it last week but we rented it before so I have some idea. Also Stan I’ve been watching you since sophomore year high school now I’m a junior in college studying Civil Engineering. I just want to say thanks, you’ve been a big motivation to me throughout the years. I love building retaining walls and paver patios so watching your retaining wall videos and your paver patio videos back then was what eventually lead me to study civil engineering, long story. Sorry for the ramble but thank you for all you do Stan!
I am honored to be a part of your journey. Thank you for sharing that. More wall vids and paver vids will be dropping this week. a 4 partr wall series and a 3 part paver series coming up next.
Another good time with the Dirt Monkey. It’s great that you show the minutiae of daily hauling such as cleaning all the areas of the trailer, making sure you are properly lined up to load up and the balance of the load in the trailer. I do like that trailer. Going the distance for a dealer that you trust is a smart thing. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next video.
I will never use this type of equipment, but it is sure fun to learn about it. Spencer Lawn Care has one of those Toro's with the landscaping bucket. They can move soil and mulch quickly on jobs. It is a time saver. Thanks for the video. Have an awesome weekend. 😊🙏👍
On the toro mud buggy, they rock front on back a ton and have a very jerky ride, the controls are easy to learn and work with but they aren’t that precise. It’s also pretty loud but great for hauling concrete to a backyard that’s what I use my 7 of them for. Overall a great machine and toro definitely has the best one out there. Just some advice but I hope it helps
I remember the first time I operated a bobcat. I had to smash down debree that was in a dumpster and I had the throttle set to high. I bumped the side of the dumpster, the machine jumped and I pushed on the controller and on my back I went. 😆 Great videos guy.
I did almost the samr thing my first time. I had to drop material into the back of a pick up truck. My dad told me " you can do it". probably becasue he didn't want to try. Well I dented that truck before I got that material in.
I can relate to the loyalty factor to a good service provider, but that's a long ways to travel. Plus you have to go back again to pickup what you've dropped off for service. Interesting for us though. Thanks Stan.
Hahaha, I was just telling my Anoka Lano dealer the same thing today..." I come here because you guys take care of me" You're right, things will break and you need loyalty back. I've been going to Lano's since 1998. Last year, during covid shut downs, they offered and came to my shop to perform maintenance at no extra cost. 😎
Hope you are well on this friday! Pretty eventful day at work.... a mower burst into flames..... everyone was alright, and no damage to the customers lawn! Have a great weekend! Stay safe!
Hey. Nice vid. Idea: Maybe attach a piece of chain to your trailer's controller as a reminder. It'll be a tangible and visual reminder .... just a thought.
Thanks Stan, another really great episode! Before I got operating scoop trams, I operated Kubota KH41 mini excavators underground digging railway track drainage ditches to keep the railway track from deterioting which was an ongoing problem. No ROPS on them as tight clearances that you had to constantly work the machine in, all the muck was loaded in 5 ton 24" gauged ore cars pulled by a 6 ton battery powered locomotive to the nearest ore pass to dump the slimes and muck out. I did this job for over 5 years, and I really loved it, but the money wasn't there, so that's when I switched over to mucking with scoop trams where the money was over double of what I made operating mini excavators, and the rest is the rest is history till my retirement when a stroke ended my mining career,
The tracked buggy is a great machine. We use them quite often now. The tracked anyway because we have been using Crete buggies for years now. We rent them from Hammersmith for running concrete. We run one just like the one in your video. One of the first things I did was drive down into the ditch and up into the woods with it. They get around real nice. My two cents.
@@Dirtmonkey yes that do! I work at a dealership that we sell exclusively Sany excavators and we can’t keep them in stock, especially the minis. People are buying them like crazy. We ordered 80 a month ago and all our minis are gone or accounted for. We just but 130 more lol
I agree Stanley.... A good dealer is well worth the drive. Or extra time it may take. I manage a sweeper truck company in Florida. And I drive 90 miles one way for a Stihl dealer, that handles my blowers and auxiliary motors for my sweepers. Out of my way, and pass maybe 6 on the way. But nothing beats the customer service I get.
My grandfather said never depend on only one client, supplier of a product or service provider, because if they fail you then must forge new alliances or you may fail as well! He had a successful Hardware store for over 50 years!
Still on a TEMP TAG..... And yes I fully agree do to who you trust and does give you the best service in town. Applies to any Equipment there is out there. From Mopar over Kubota, Bobcat, Volvo and many more. And you know it Stan.... don't cut corners or it bites you. Keep up the good work.
You are correct, once you find and feel comfortable with a dealership, stick with them, especially you small independents. It is more important for you guys and gals to hang on to as much of your money as possible, and where you feel comfortable is best, so you can hold on to that hard earned money. Yes, sand can be as bad as being on ice, you have no control over where you go or on stopping
I remember loading a skid and slid part way off. A Plow Truck pushed me back on to the Trailer. Snow and Ice can work to your disadvantage. Wow the oldest Bobcat dealer in the World Cool.
Kubota mowers are badass low end torque monsters. My cousin AL runs a fleet of them for along time and minimal problems, maintenance and blades that's about it. He's also ran the Husqvarna Diesel zero turns and they're powered by a Kubota turbo also great mowers
I hate the rust and especially after paying big money for something. Why I now got an all aluminum Neo enclosed trailer and N&N galvanized equipment hauler and if new will get a galvanized dump trailer if I don't find a small dump truck to suit my needs. Loading your skid steer reminded me of wranglerstar loading his forklift onto a dump trailer. Pays to know what you are doing or watch someone like yourself and learn a few pointers.
Stan you sound tired and not your self, even in this video you seem tired and frustrated. Dude take a break from RU-vid for week, get some rest and spend time with the family. We appreciate everything you do.
Hey Stan You should check out some of the HD dump trailers from Midsota or Diamond C. Some of these are built with the dump bed sitting directly on an I beam frame, thus have a lower loading height. Also, I think some of the larger Bobcat excavators are rebadged Doosans.
@@Dirtmonkey I'm sure it would be, just build a frame out of some 1/2 inch square tube. Ohh or just weld some tabs with a hole and put in a single long pin to retain the ramps and remove the doors all together.
BWise Trailers are amazing and I have had one for quite sometime and it sits outside all year and never really has day a huge issue and the trailer i have is completely controled with a remote for the jack, dump and gate
You should put some down riggers at the back of that trailer for loading and unloading equipment. That will take the stress off the hitch. Better sand than manure.
On the dump trailer put a washer behind the clip pin preferably one that is a close fit on the pin. Another thing that could be done is foam weather strip tape around the door.
There searching for water in the ground the bees are. I scrap some top soil and I look back the ground was swarming with bees, didn’t get stung at all.
I bolt a piece of 1/2 chain about 6" long into the frame of my truck that I hook the break away brake cable too instead of the hitch receiver. Just incase the receiver or it's hardware fail for some reason...
On a 79 f250 we use to haul tractors to tractor pulls we simply have an eye bolt in one of the holes holding the license plate on to hook that cable to
@@18brash The chain also makes a nice point to add a trailer lock via padlock when parked or a great lock point to run a long loop of chain through fuel cans, coolers, spare wheels/tires, generators, ect while camping/riding!
3:05 Duuude... So I watched your video a while back where you said "Always come back and double check all your connections". I hooked up my trailer and set off. After about 4 miles, I was thinking "I don't remember putting the lock on the latch.. WAIT! I don't remember latching it at all!!" my safety chains were in place and nested, but it turns out I did not latch the ball. OMFG! There was no damage or injury, the trailer did not come loose. But I was thinking all day about how I can re-configure my process. That was not a good day!
Stan That would be U.S. Navy SeaBees or U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Olive Green paint. I live in Gulfport, MS home of one of the largest SeaBee Bases. They repaint their equipment just before sending to auction. And right now they are getting new equipment in.
The way you shoveled out the trailer is how i shovel my driveway push to one side and push it all down the driveway for my neighbor to plow away when he leaves to work....for this technique to work you gotta go out every hr during the storms otherwise it gets to heavy to push
I got stung 9 times last month. They built a nest under my boat tarp.My hand and forearm swelled up for 4 weeks.By the way I used 4 cans of spray I the hive.I am not allergic of their sting but it sure itches and hurts.Be careful.
my friend has a Kubota mower (doesn't have the diesel, it's gas) he says with minimal effort you can stand it on the guard that goes around the motor, the hydraulic motors are that strong. he says it's excellent.
@@Dirtmonkey i'd have to ask him but he uses it for his lawncare gig he had on the side before college so i'd assume yes. His Grandpa bought it for him and he's been doing equipment related stuff his entire life
Just chocking the trailer tires on both ends on one side and pulling the break away cable alleviates the need for someone to hold the brakes on the tow vehicle. Even if the rear tires of the tow vehicle lift the trailer the whole rig still can't roll anywhere!!!
if you Place a Two or there inch thick green spruce Board 2 x6 Two Foot long at the end of the ramps it Lifts AND calls in . Loading a paver is Löw AND this Works best !
Another great video Stan I’m glad the trailer says Texas pride on it. Up here in Minnesota if it traps and holds all that dirt I don’t care how good of a paint job it is it will rust out quickly
There is place by me called sierra army depot they store thousands upon thousands of vehicles there. The have tons of green cat equipment imcluding fully armored d8s and 9s. Some of has been getting sold off so it is probably a army corp of engineers grader.
I really like my kubota mower but the mower blade spindle bearings seem to go out faster than you would expect. Great mower compared to others I've run.
Great great video. Love the tour round. Still jealous of the size of your trailers/ loads you can tow behind your trucks. The UK likes small 3500kg combined loads towed before special licence are required. Stay safe 🏴
I got attacked by ground wasps a few weeks ago. The got me a total of 5 times in the ears and twice on my head. They got me really good lol. It wasn’t pleasant that’s for sure.
For under 30$ you can get a remote off Amazon.Takes about 30 to40 minutes to install depending how far you are from the shop..Then you can spread while driving down the road.
