Okay, I am so confused as to why there are so many of you here complaining about the food in Bhutan. First of all, Mark explained in his first video that there will be 20 videos about his trip to Bhutan. So if you all are complaining about how the videos are dragging on, you have an option not to watch it. Secondly, Bhutanese food repeats, it's the same like how every food repeats. I am sure every one of you are taught to respect other cultures no matter how they are, because by saying that our food is boring you, you are disrespecting our food. Our food in Bhutan are all organic and they come in different variations but it's not like we will keep inventing new dish all the time, ofcourse it will repeat, in my opinion, repeating food means that the food is edible and good, instead of experimenting all the time. I just want to end my comment by saying, if you are just going to complain, then might as well not watch it, I am sure that if I was to point things out about your culture, you would not be happy either. Bhutanese food is simple and delicious. And so are other food in different countries.
In short, all she is saying is our culture is our culture, non of your culture. You don't have to disrespect our culture like we dont disrespect your culture.@@সূর্য-চ৫জ
Anurag Datta. She. Think. People. No. Need. To. Complain. About. Other. People’s. Culture. When. All. Culture. Beautiful. And. All. Food. Is. Delicious. If. No. Like. Repetition. Of. Food. No. Watch. Simple????? (Or do you want me to use pictures alongside the words to simplify further for you? Perhaps a slide show?...)
I am in love with this series. Simple, authentic honest living. I do not mind the ezay and datsi repeating themselves. Every time i feel depressed in my life I will come back to this series. I am living through you Mark. Thank you.
I am loving this Bhutanese series. I love that your not staying in hotels all the time and that you are being immersed in the people, their homes, their culture and their cooking. I do see common dishes but it appears every home makes there food with love and slightly different. Just like if you told two chefs to cook something and gave them the same ingredients, each would make something different yet the same. There aren't conveniences of stores on every corner to supply food variety and refrigeration is not available in moat rural homes. The Bhutanese are eating what they can grow and preserve and making flavorful food at the same time. I know my mouth stills waters, even if I have seen the dish before, so they are doing something very remarkable.
I dont really care if almost every video in bhutan have same dish. But hey look at the scenery and view in Bhutan. It's so beautiful, refreshing and calm. :)
Mark, this is another refreshing gem. Your ability to move at the pace of the culture you are in and to avoid making constant comparisons is the mark of a good guest. The simple home cooked meals and immersion into the day-to-day culture of Bhutan is wonderful. The Bhutanese are a reminder that some of the best things in life are also the simplest... Sitting in a Bhutanese farm house... sharing a cup of hot butter tea in front of a wood burning stove... priceless...
Absolutely a lovely and unique country. I guess the GNH is really working in Bhutan. I see even everyday people have enough for a good life. To any Bhutanese in here, I have great respect for your King Jigme Khesar Wangchuck. God bless you guys. From your Bangladeshi friend and neighbor.
Bhubaneswari Routray No, you're not. I didn't even hear of Bhutan until Mark went there so this is a perfect way for me to actually learn more about it and I'm glad he uploads so much
I see a lot of people commenting that the food is same anywhere you go in Bhutan and yes I think so too but it's not boring me at all. Instead I'm just loving these Bhutan videos!
Hey Mark, I am from Bhutan and the videos you post are great. I am away from home so watching your videos makes me very happy. I have been watching since day 1 and have never missed a single video. every night I wait for you to upload and when you do, I watch it very eagerly and my heart is full of joy. there will always be people who have something negative to say but pay no heed because your videos are amazing. keep posting and be happy. Like Bhutan's motto take nothing but memories. leave nothing but footprints.
Thank you Mark for uploading so many videos about Bhutan. I've only herd of the country once before your series and I really enjoy learning about different countries, foods, cultures, and the history of every where you go. Thank you and Ying for sharing your lives with us.
The food is so natural and Bhutan's unique food culture, and beautiful and clean country, fresh air. Each country has its unique food, and Bhutan has its own.
I get so excited every time I get a new video upload notification from you! 😍 Ignore all the haters, Mark. They just can't believe there are positive people like you in this world where you have nothing negative to say about anything. You know how to enjoy food and everything that come with it! Huge respect!
These Bhutan trip videos have so far been awesome.. The background music, the food, the friendly locals and the scenic beauty have taken it to a different level.. Love from India
anyone complaining about the food in these videos or how long the series is probably wont be spending 16 amazing days in bhutan or even 1 day....enjoy the culture cause its probably all you'll ever get...
I love seeing the different wooden farm homes. I wish I had a house like that with all the beautiful painted decorations. All the food looks so good. The stir fried cheese makes me sooo hungry.
this guy is great and he is very honest and enjoys to eat thats why i watch his food vlogs, the last plate got me to think it must be the best food on earth
Bhutan famous red rice, cheese, I love Bhutan's unique, original food and not mixed up with other countries because now a days many countries create their own version food by using spices from other countries but Bhutan's food is so original and unique and uses it own spices grown in Bhutan, that is why Bhutan's food is so unique and authentic .
I love you Mark and Ying ! I don't mind these Bhutanese videos at all, they are authentic and I feel like I'm actually there enjoying the culture, food and scenery. This is also very educational because there are no Bhutanese restaurants where I am. Keep up the good work !
Mark, just to let you know that your Bhutan series is just a delight to watch! You never looked happier and healthier than in these videos! Thank you thank you thank you, please keep going like that!
i really want to try that emma datzi and ezay (sorry if i splet it incorrectly) !! maybe it's just me but i find these bhutanese series to be so comforting.
Do what I do, If I want to try something new I'll do my research on the recipe and make it at home. Right now I've been making a lot of Korean dishes. The food is delicious and I don't have a Korean restaurant in my hometown. But I have access to a great Asian grocery store, Amazon, RU-vid, and other sites on the internet to look up videos. So I've been making a lot of Korean dishes at home for myself and my family. It's fun to try new foods plus I love to cook and bake. :D
Yeah Ebony, I liked your hot pot video and the Vietnamese rice paper roll ! yum. Bibimbap looked good as well, you're obviously a good cook. I'm still learning.
I went to phunshilling, paro and thimpu, Bhutan is a great country with great people lovely food and lot of love in heart of each person. Love you Bhutan
I love the total immersion into the cultures he explores. He's not The Food Network. It's about more than one day of what he eats, it's about the daily experience. My favorite food blogger by far.
Hi Mark n Yin, both of you are amazing to stay in Bhutan long enough to get to know their culture and t taste home cooking food, that is the best anyone could ask, you will gain so much from it, and the country side is so serene and beautiful, everywhere in the world you can find a city but not this beautiful Bhutan, you are qualified to work with National Geographic, Home Cooking is definitely more delicious, thank you for showing us Amazing Bhutan. Mark , you are simply the Best, Bee 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻😍
+Blue Clouds Totally agree too, thank you Mark for this adventure into Bhutan, the people and the way they have adapted to the land is fascinating, no waste, simple and nutritious food, keep up the good work Mark :-)
Actually I'm a Bhutanese,I'm proud to be Bhutanese, mark wiens he is doing good,he test different food from village to village, guys if you come to Bhutan you never feel back from Bhutan because of nature, adventure, people and their culture. Thank for bed comments!
Mark, great thing you are not doing a lot of "touristy stuff" in Bhutan rather tried to experience how it is to live like a local. Eat what they have and appreciates it. Thank you.
That farm house looks awesome! You can't beat an experience like that. You really get to see what life is like for the indigenous population. In the 80's while on maneuvers in Germany we would sometimes stop near a farm and the family would bring us food and beer; good times.
Everyone complaining about repetition just reinforces my desire to go to Bhutan. I wanted to go long before I knew there was so much cheese. I'll have that every day, thank you.
I keep coming back to this series, because even though the food is pretty repetitive, it is comforting to watch and the atmosphere is great. Also, the food reminds me of the Netherlands (kinda) because of how simple it is, and because of all the cheese.
mark thank you very much for video i learn lott about bhutanese people and country and food i understand they eat same food almost everyday they grow their own organic food and that's the most healthiest food you can have the Bhutanese people they all look healthy
To all the people who are saying they are bored with this series, why don't you just stop watching then? Problem solved, you're welcome! And to the people who are saying that Bhutan is beautiful but the food is boring and repetitive... food IS a very big part of any culture so to insult their food IS the same as insulting their culture. Not every place around the world has the same flavors, variety and ingredients as another... that's what makes cultures unique and marvelous to experience. Clearly this IS the variety of food available in Bhutan, and lovingly made by the people there who are known to be some of the happiest around the world. Mark is showing what's authentically Bhutanese cuisine. To keep demanding more sounds like you want to impinge your unfair expectations and judgement onto the Bhutanese culture. I find that really sad and disturbing.
I have been to Bhutan..its really a wonderful country...very beautiful...the people their culture traditions really captivated me..i would like to visit again...love from INDIA...
Haha I like how he likes everything. I'm SO obsessed about Bhutan.. I need to visit it, and I'm vegetarian & love spice so their food seems perfect for me. Thanks for your awesome videos!!
I like that fact that Mark enjoys every bit of food there is, doesn't matter if it's the same dishes. Bhutanese food doesn't really have any variations.
It is simply looks delicious Mark and Ying! Mark eating similar type of food is because, I think climate, latitude of the land, soil looks Rocky! Only, those vegetables Mark eating do or grow well over there! The simple organic and non process food is delicious and healthy!
I am a fussy eater to have been since I was a child, I wouldn't eat eggs unless the yoke was the right color, really fussy about meats and how others cook them, just because people are fussy eaters doesn't mean they don't eat much texture in food is so complex those are other ways people are fussy, so Rozi Rana don't get upset over someone who is ignorant over things, I am glad that Mark and Ying have helped you to increase your diversity of different foods :)
Onglar No it's not I eat in restaurants and at other people's homes yes I am fussy but my fussiness is when meats are going rotten and how clean their kitchen are, and in my house I do all the cooking so I don't think I annoy anyone who cooks for me.
just got bck from shopping n cant wait to watch ur video. love the breakfast cus it was so simple and so homey foods. beautiful forest and everythings seems so fresh and unpolluted. i want to try to cook that potatoes! the rest i dont think can get the ingredients in my place.
same here janet, although I'm not sure about the beef jerkey thing, I've never had beef jerkey in a dish before. Yes the potato thing I'll definitely try.
We're happy to hear that, Bunts05! Let us know if you need help planning and booking your trip. It was a pleasure to host Mark, and we can't wait to welcome fellow foodies.
thankyousooomuch mark--if not for ur amazing videos i won't have any idea of how BLESSED bhutan is--with breath-taking landscape..scenic views..gorgeous people tenzin is one..and the one in pony tail and cheychay (?!)--and the food--looks wonderful!!! ..GODBLESS u
Really enjoying your Bhutan series, Mark! There is definitely a beautiful and untouched quality to it that is definitely making me consider it as an upcoming trip! What has been your favorite aspect of Bhutan so far? Also, your Istanbul series finally made me take the plunge and I booked my flight last week! Very excited! The best wishes to you and your family. Truly exceptional quality indeed.
Great series on Bhutan. As always, an exploration of a culture's food is a doorway into its history and its development. What is in store for this country that appears to be holding on to its traditional way of life and yet as a result of opening its doors to trade and tourism looks like it has pretty well caught up with the rest of the modern world. These videos were done during a visit two years ago. I wonder if Mark went back in a year or two, what kind of changes he would find in the city/town centres and in the farmhouses where he's stayed.
Kia Ora Mark and family, thank you for sharing the Bhutanese culture and the hospitality of the wonderful people. You are a very respectable individual, and I love the way you eat and express your food as precisely how your enjoying it, thank you for the awesome journeys. Bless you and your beautiful family. Arohanui Shandi 💙 🌸 🌿 🇳🇿🧜🏼♀️
Love that food and the people are wonderful the land is so beautiful would love to spend time on a farm there rather than a hotel so much peace there, thank you Mark and Ying xxx I do have a comment for those who are putting the food down, most people there do not have much in the way of being able to grow food on a harsh land you complain that the food is boring but I find from what I have seen is that the food looks wholesome and very tasty their culture is beautiful and the people seem so respectful of others ad give what they have to feed others. Please don't disrespect them because the food is not to your liking or it looks the same and it may look the same but the taste is different in each house. Try to understand where they live and their culture .
It reminded me our trip to Darjeeling in February in 2011. We were sitting in the hotel next to the fireplace as long as we could, and slept with jackets and loads of blankets.
I for one am loving every video of BHUTAN!!! I'd love to visit there one good day!!!! so peaceful, and beautiful!!!! AGAIN keep of the FANTASTIC WORK MARK!!!
i dont know but i really enjoy watching this bhutan series! although the food is similar....every family and every region has their own variations which makes it really interesting :)
When Mark and Ying visits a country, they do the "road less traveled" and immerse themselves in the culture, traditions and food of the locals.... this is how the people of Bhutan eats, that is whats available in their villages, home grown veggies, free range animals, and tons of cheese and chilles, they cook and eat what is available to them...Organic! not fast food, no preservatives, no process foods, no can foods, no hotdogs, no Mcdonalds.... Do not compare western foods to the food in `Bhutan....if you dont like their food, then dont go there, go to Europe or any country you want to visit where you can eat all the food you want.... this is Mark's vlog--his food and travel vlog, he can go where he wants to go and eat what he wants to eat.... thats what makes his videos unique.... you want to see other countries and eat the food you want to eat? then do your own vlog and feature your own travels...PEACE!
WoW !! I learnt something new today ... didn't know that you could eat oats with curries as a savoury meal. Also, will be sure to try making the cheesy mushrooms. Love that we not only get to know what foods each ethnicity in each country eats, we also get a free tour of the place as if we personally went there on holiday too. Thank you once again Mark for the outstanding experiences, foods and travels 😀👌
Mark i just loveee all your videos specially this bhutan thank you for Makingall Of these videos we are able To see thr beautiful places because of you. God bless you and your family. Stay safe travelling kisses and hugs from philippines/South Australia
These home cooked meals seem like simple but delicious. In this cold environment, the heavy, hot flavors from chili and cheese and fat can be a special temptation. May be it’s not a good idea to eat everyday, but interesting for traveling.
I love your videos Mark. The food you eat makes me really hungry. When I think of food I think of your videos because the food you eat looks so good. You can even see it in hus face. Pls come to San francisco
Hi there mark :) I have been watching your videos for some time now and I feel you are one of the best food vloggers on RU-vid ( along with food Ranger). The food you try from around the world is truly amazing and you are living the dream.I hope to do what you are doing now some day.Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming.Cheers.
That ezay looks so darn delicious. I'd be taking that home in jars as a souvenir. Love this series. Such a beautiful place. Never heard if it before watching your videos, but I'd love to visit and try the Bhutanese dishes.
love your videos mark, I also love this Bhutan series, keep up the good work, you and ying are the best part of my evening when I eat and watch your videos with dinner!! always a supporter!
