Professor Sir Chris Whitty is to face questions when he appears before the UK Covid-19 Inquiry on Thursday.
Inquiry chairwoman Baroness Heather Hallett is examining the impact of the crisis on NHS workers, patients and the delivery of healthcare.
Module three of the inquiry is looking at the governmental and societal response to Covid-19 by assessing the impact of the pandemic on how NHS services were delivered.
Julia says: "Will we get honesty from Chris Whitty?"

You make light of a simple policy in the midst of unknowns. By staying indoors I think you would agree it was less likely to get Covid and that extrapolated, is worth a punt and indeed the R factor fell. Whether multiple lockdowns were useful is debatable. Interestingly the R factor for measles is 15 and for covid 3.5 at worst. The difference: Covid was lethal to many, measles rarely. By all means go out, but don't come running to the NHS with Covid when your belligerence is ill placed.

There was no law to enforce what mat handcock said check out lord Johnathan sumption QC. He stated that in law the response must be proportional to the risk, which it wasn't. Do your homework.

There will most probably be a larger winter crisis in the NHS this coming winter because Labour have removed the winter fuel allowance to most pensioners and the energy price cap has been increased, so as a result more pensioners will be reluctant to put their heating on and therefore more of them will end up in hospital - is this Labour's objective? Of course the millionaire pensioners that Labour uses as an excuse to introduce this draconian cut will have no worries about heating their home(s).
