I loved The Strings of Murder by Oscar de Muriel. The Fray and McGrey series is amazing. Thank you for recommending it to others. ❤

I love very much” Murder of Roger Ackroyd” and “ Hercule Poirot’s Christmas “ :) both are genius locked room mysteries ❤

I love your reviews. But I’m one of the ones who cannot take Ruth Ware. Also couldn’t finish The Woman in the Library. Boring, went on and on without getting to any point. I also seem to remember a romance that was developing that I didn’t like. I love Christie books (always better than the movies too). I also enjoyed 7 Deaths of Evelyn. Quirky. It’s on my shelf and I’m going to read it again. I always add to my TBR list after watching you. Thank you!

I can’t believe I haven’t read Evelyn Hardcastle yet, this sounds so good! I love Dame Agatha and these two are some of my favorites also. I’ve only read one Ruth Ware (Mrs. Westaway) and Lucy Foley (The Hunting Party), but I would like to read more from each.

The Mystery of the Yellow Room is a good locked room mystery that supposedly inspired Agatha Christie. A newer one I read is The Mystery at Mistletoe Hall, a nice cosy locked room mystery 😊

The Death of Mrs Westaway may be my favorite Ruth Ware novel. I’m afraid to try the Fury because it’s gotten so many bad reviews, though I did really enjoy The Silent Patient. The Last was a great book!!! Need to add Stuart Turton to my TBR.

The only actual locked room mystery I can think of by Christie (where a body is found inside a locked room) is Hercule Poirot's Christmas, which you've probably read. I've been learning a lot about Golden Age detective fiction the last few years and apparently John Dickson Carr is the master of the locked room mystery! I've only read one of his which I enjoyed, but have heard The Plague Court Murders is one of the best. I recently read Death and the Conjurer by Tom Mead which was an excellent locked room one, and the more modern closed circle one I really liked was A Fatal Crossing by Tom Hindle, which all takes place on a ship.

Oooh so many great recommendations, my tbr gets longer every time I watch your videos! For closed circle mysteries I loved Everyone in my family has killed someone. Definitely not creepy, probably not even very plausible, but omg that was so unique and so much fun!

I loved the Hunting Party by Lucy Foley but im also a sucker for an isolated closet circle mystery set in winter. Plus all the multiple POVs really worked for me. Voyage of the Damned sounds so good! Id be very interested to hear your thoughts on a fantasy closed circle mystery. Need to read 7 Deaths of EH, its been on my TBR forever and i hear such good things about it. Since you like winter settings and mystery books i just read City Under One Roof by Iris Yamashita and it was a strong debut. Takes place in a small Alaska town where all the residence live in the same building. A cop who comes to investigate a crime gets stranded in the town when the only tunnel leading out of it closes due to a snowstorm. And then things get real interesting!

Well, as rec videos go.....😂 I'm just back from a stop-the- video , hour round trip to my city library to pick up The Last Time I Lied, Lock Every Door and Turn of the 🗝️.... consider Mr Influenced 😂. Just finished What Moves the Dead 🥀🍄, which I credit you with reccing.... 5🌟 from me. On the historical side, the Moonstone 🌑has to be one of my faves for atmosphere. 🖤 the Christie and Turton books, also favourites. Hope all good with you, and Spring will be with you soon 🐑🌷, 16 degrees here in Southern England today 😎!

This is fast becoming my fav genre for a 'quick read' or something that I can really get engaged with fast! Now I'll be looking into these titles! I'm currently still working through a couple other mystery series (not necessarily locked-room style), the author who wrote The Honjin Murders (Seishi Yokomizo), and the other series by Sujata Massey/Perveen Mistry series. On a side note, I just finished the first novel by Isabel Canas, The Hacienda (it's a gothic horror mystery) and I think you would love it! She came out with a second novel, and I'll 100% get that when I can! xoxo **cheers to the next good read** 💜📚

Thanks for all the recommendations. I really like Riley Sager. I grew up outside of Boston, so had to buy The Woman In The Library. Haven't read it yet, but can't wait! Thanks Alice!

how about a couple of locked room/closed circle mysteries that were adapted into movies? i'll always pull for the big bow mystery by israel zangwill (turned into the verdict 1946) and death from a top hat by clayton rawson (turned into miracles for sale 1939; also striking in that it's both a locked room AND closed circle story)

My Amazon Wishlist just increased, this happens EVERY time I watch one of your videos. I love your videos. Have you read Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson? If you haven't please do it is brilliant, funny and the twist made me nearly drop the book in surprise :)

My first Agatha Christie read was And Then There Were None (back when it was titled Ten Little Indians) when I was in high school and I did not like it. I felt that she pulled a rabbit out of the hat at the end. Then I read another of her novels, and had the same feeling, so that was the end of Christie for me. I know this is a very unpopular opinion! Maybe I should reread and see if I feel differently now. Thanks for all of your reviews, some of these sound very intriguing!
