I love this for connor, it made me think that logan actually liked him considering he sent him pics and his funeral plans it’s almost like he trusted him when it comes to personal stuff, he’s truly an eldest son.
I'm just spitballing here cuz who knows, right. But yeah, I agree Logan trusted Conner with this stuff, he could talk about his death and the like with him..But not because he was the eldest son ( logan never really put that eldest son/heir label on Conner and treated him with derision) but because of his lack of trust in his other children, the ones who would mourn his death sure, but who would also gain something from it. Who would look at his death with a slight predatory glimmer, that Logan would definitely expect and understand but still not want to see when dicussing the end of his own mortality.
I found that interesting as well, he also showed that very cozy video of him and Kerry having dinner. I think that's the thing with Logan, he's a very charming character when he wants to and that's part of why everyone wants his approval and attention. This is very characteristic of narcissistic personalities, they can "turn on the charm" and be like "the sun" for the ones that they want to engage their attention. It seems to me, that since he was stranged from his other children, he turned to Connor and let him enjoy the warmth while maintaining the facade of a family. Remember tho, he still didn't plan to attend his wedding.

@@ordubinsky it may seem that his character has a lot of that going on but I also think roman really doesn't have a filter, he enjoys making others uneasy because that's his way of exerting power over them .

@@FutureacquiescenceLogan got his Mausoleum (grave) on a deal with a 'Dot Com Pet Supply Guy' The Dot Com Bubble Burst made the pet supply guy (who also sold CATFOOD) probably lose all his money. Ozymandias is a story about a king who loses his kingdom and the only thing found of his kingdom was the rubble. (just like how the Pet Supply Guy lost his store, his kingdom) It's a pretty deep and thought out little joke, like most Succession jokes.
It's such a simple and somewhat childish line, but "he made me breathe funny" had me pausing the show for a few seconds to collect myself. Someone in the writer's room really hits all of the ins and outs of relationships like the one Logan had with his kids
Yes! I agree! Admirable ability to separate it all. I was thinking about her big ad ridiculing hjs drug problem and his speaker blasting of "Rape Me" during her speech. I'm not sure if I'd be able to get past such digs as quickly as they did. Kind of impressive.
It feels more like a touch of the ego-manic. That of course! his children would be buried beside him, and their children. He owns them even in death, like a pharoh buried with his personal items and treasure.
@@Circa1628 yeah, makes sense that he wouldn't care if they had their own family plots, possessive to the end but still coming from Logan it is nice that in death he was thinking of his kids, makes his missing of them during his birthday and his last meeting with them seem sincere
@@Circa1628 Wow, I would never think of it this way. Don't know who is right, but it's an interesting POV. I payed no special attention. I just thought : 1. That's a very "family oriented" thing : Logan is a patriarch, he was the first one who established that dynasty of Roys. So kids and other family members "inherit" a place in the tomb like they "inherited" place in the company. It's all about lineage. 2. Burial in the ground is for poor, rich people have mausoleums cause it's somehow prestigious and cool. I had a boyfriend whose grandfather established a mausoleum for his family exactly like Logan did. And my boyfriend was like " My father is there and my mother, as father's wife. My aunt will be there too... there are 24 empty slots there" I was like "so... you too, in the future?". And he was "nah, never. I love my city more than anything, I wanna be buried here. Don't care about family thing, not gonna do that".
Man, this scene was pure comedy gold. Remind me of the comedic scenes of Mad Men to relieve stress. Shiv: “was he on a bidding war with Stalin and Liberace?” Connor: “I think was 5 million, but that’s forever” Kendall: “good deal” And the winner: Connor: “I’m crazy about criogenics, but I wouldn’t say no to the top bunk”
@@brodssn I'm team kendall all the way. but they still did rome dirty. I didn't think roman was gonna completely b* out at the eulogy, and with one episode left, they can't really redeem the character. Thus, the writers did roman dirty.
