@chuckbuskeeuntil another twist comes this show always does this I don’t think the deal will happen Kendall and Roman will find a way to keep the company
She never cared about it lol it was always pretense to be in her dad's good books. Remember when she made a deal with that politician who promised her that if elected he'd throw Logan in prison and put her CEO, or straight up agreed to join Kendall and throw Logan over in exchange for the top position.
@@TheKungas but I’m referring to the fact that, he always competed with his family. Outsiders were treated as outsiders I’m not referring to him as a good dad 😂
@@Zachuman But Kendall was leaving her out of everything already. Hell, he even changed the info about his dad with Hugo, lying to Roman. The only one who tries to keep the kids together is Roman.
@@aetenae Not sure if I'd agree, seeing as how Roman was going behind their back and still talking to Logan in the beginning of season 4. They're all snakes
He just overbid for a pissing contest. He did EXACTLY what the kids did with Pierce, which Logan mocked : "Congrats on saying the highest number!". Mattson fucked them but he's not serious either
Is he though? He massively overbid for a failing brand because Roman pissed him off. Just like Kendall buying Vaulter. Or the kids buying PGN. We are talking about a man who sends bricks of frozen blood to his employees. Is he serious?
@@MarcoBarroca I could easily see him just gutting way star out of spite just like Logan made Kendall do with vaulter. That would be pretty killer in my opinion
So I guess Shiv puts two and two together from her brothers' demeanor and Matsson's call that they wanted to tank the deal, right? She's already paranoid that Ken and Roman would cut her out, and is fully aware of Ken's avarice and deep desire to run the company, so I'm sure she isn't surprised.
Hugo's reaction had me ngl😭😭 And karl's reaction about tom must be on the list was just golden . As for shiv this week was her week, last week was kendall....is next week gonna be roman??
1:30 You can see Shiv feeling the power dynamic between her and Tom shifting strongly in her favour. As Logan once said: “Maybe I want to keep you rattling around. You can do the mail for me.”
Oooh… so the people that was on Logan’s list (and the ones that probably would be there one day if he had survived), didn’t end up in Matson’s list, while Cyd, someone from Logan’s list, ended up in Shiv’s list
@@thebreadbaron5951 Have we been watching the same show? Lol though impulsive, she’s definitely smarter than her brothers. Everyone, including Logan has said that.
Bruh,Shiv totally had Tom's balls in her hand at this moment and the look on Tom's face was clear he thought she was legit firing him on the plane right then and there. The twist with her telling him to fire the White house Correspondent and then being the one to Ask Tom out to Dinner definitely feels like a Chess move on her part. I also think the Ear Flick Tom gave her actually made her Like him more. She's not for the Emotional lovey dovey Romance, she wants a Man who can Give to her just as hard she dishes it out and I think that's why she kept Tom and Greg off the Kill List by the end of the episode. I think Shiv won't get in business with Mattson after he confessed to the Frozen Blood Bricks he's been sending his Ex, i think the better move would be a True Killer move and leverage that against him in the future.
@@jb2599 I'm not sure whether that, only, saved his ass. However, Matsson seemed attentive when Shiv and him discussed Shiv's relationship with Tom. Tom's also the only one, in addition to Carolina and Gerry (both not on the kill list as well), whom was mentioned during this convo. That being said, I do think Tom handled himself well with the others at the table.
Tom, too. He was also mentioned during the Matsson-Shiv convo. As to Shiv being manipulated, it remains to be seen whether the information he told her and that Shiv potentially intends to use as leverage (i.e.: when her brothers asked her if she found out anything they could use against Matsson, she responded "no") is accurate or not.
@zacbouch423 'sold out her brothers' - you mean the brothers that left her on the outside and took such a crucial decision without her? I blame especially Ken for it, Rome would had told her, but he is too easily influenced by Ken, but that still makes him guilty too
So watching this again…. Kendall had a smirk that almost seems like he is happy maybe? Shiv looks like she knows something the rest of us don’t. Interesting.
I am surprised no one is considering that Kendall may have deliberately manipulated Roman, you look at the outcome and they got to a number they never would have gotten otherwise
They will have no choice. This is a bear hug. A deal so good they legally cannot pass it up. That is why Mattson called Frank directly. So now everyone knows this deal is out there. Mattson played them real good here. Will be interesting to see how the CE-Bros respond, but it is definitely not as simple as “they won’t take the deal”. That isn’t an option, they will need to be creative.
Siblings are not stupid people but they have so big and fragile ego that always ends up them doing dumb mistakes For example, Kendall should let Roman lead the negotiations from the beginning, because he is so much better than him and non of this would happen (also that anger burst at the end) Still they get the best deal they can to get out, leaving for all is the best option for them because at this point they dont have the capacity to manage high level business They are damaged goods and will always be a faint shadow of their father I mean isnt this show what is all about, we probably wont see a big 'Breaking Bad' at the end.
And also sad but they don't have self respect; they didn't even took care of their fathers funeral (yes.. this is about power and self respect so.. is about business) And Matson made Shiv his b*tch so easily
2:31 this still makes me sad. Reverse the situation and all would have been hating the person. Never go on a bad side of women(related ones), they have no limit to pettiness or any morals when it comes to burning down the house.
The title of the next episode should be called “vladimir”. Shiv is abt murder matsson just as he takes ATN, oust him, and buy that shit for a lower share price. Gregg will take toms position as CEO of Atn. this is what i HOPE
The minute he told Shiv "you remind me of your father" was the moment I knew he was playing her. She's nothing like her father, he's lying to make her feel like she has the upper hand.
@@Unclejack328 she doesn't - she says she will, and even picks the coke up, but she never actually takes a bump. can rewatch the scene; it's just a play to get Matsson comfortable
Nothing is as it seems, Mattson cannot be trusted because he's a killer like Logan and is going to screw them over royally in the end Gordon Gekko moves ahead
I think it’s because the look on her face her smirk like she knows something that the rest of them don’t because she wasn’t surprised at all about the 192
They screwed Shiv and now she's going to screw them with Mattson. Not sure why Kendall and Roman thought it would be a good idea to screw her over. She's smarter than both of them combined.
As CEOs of a public company Ken and Rome legally need to uphold fiduciary duties to Waystar's shareholders. Basically they must always act in the shareholders' best interests, which in this case is making the most money from the sale. Matsson has made a very good offer directly to the board so now they seemingly don't have a good reason to reject, or it would be a breach of fiduciary duty which would lead to them being voted out of the CEO position and sued/prosecuted by the shareholders or the SEC.
Kendall and Roman wanted to tank the deal because they don't want Matsson controlling their dad's legacy, nor do they trust him in general. So Matsson fucked them over by giving them an offer they couldn't refuse, and I mean that literally. The money was so good that had they rejected it, it would have confused the rest of the Waystar Royco members and severely angered their investors and especially shareholders. It was a bear hug, just like the season 1 finale.
