+KutayXD I bought it, and I have had it for about a month. The sound is really good, amazing 7.1 surround simulation. but I would probably save my money, it is really expensive and it tends to fall off your head of you lean your head back too much. All in all: really good sound and wireless connection, but expensive and falls of the head sometimes :)
Everything people say is true! I love these headphones. The best, and most over looked feature, is the 3.5mm port on the wireless USB-dongle!!! I looped the audio from my sound-card/AMP/DAC to the G933 wireless-usb-dongle using a 3.5mm phone extention (male-to-male 3.5mm stereo cable). The audio was drastically better!!!! It took good audio and made it great! Using this setup allows you to control the audio with your sound-card/AMP/DAC. It takes flat audio and wakes it up with full fidelity. Please try!!!
I have this headset and love it, I simply leave off the LED lights because it practically gives you an extra two hours of battery life! And it lasts practically 12 hours which is the longest battery life I've ever experienced with a wireless headset
Finally someone who mentions and makes a review of these around R6... which is the single game I bought these for and is one of the most sound demanding games ever made honestly. Thanks for easing my nerves for when mine get here tonight. I was starting to get buyers remorse.
I especially liked that part of the review was done through the G933's mic. Part of the reason you're buying them is for the mic, presumably, so it's good to get an idea what you'll sound like with them. Great job.
Other people may differ, but I bought mine simply due to the fact that the G430 7.1 surround sounded amazing to me. I love wireless headsets for freedom of movement, especially to listen to music or how a games about to start/finish and you need to goto the kitchen. I bought a Steel Series Arctis head set and it sounded like trash. Immediately refunded and bought the G933 because the G430 sounded great. I've never used another headset since I bought my G933.
The headband makes my head sore, I thought I was the only one :D Another slight problem with the G633 and G933 for me is that I can bearly see the symbols on the headset, I need good lighting to see them. Other than the easily falling off and headband issue, I love these headsets!
Very nice review. I'm torn between the G930 and G633 since wireless isn't terribly important to me, but the G930 is considerably cheaper atm via Amazon and although they're neat, I don't care about the LED lights. To me, comparatively, the price difference makes the G930 a good value.
One guy is saying that DTS sounds better. Another guy is saying that Dolby sounds better. I think I'm going crazy.... These are not cheap headphones, but if it's dolby I'm looking for there are other (and perhaps cheaper variants) however this has DTS Headphone X, which not many headphones have. But I would not like to buy something for a feature I would not use...
Someone asked here if my Headset doesn't want to turn on after I turn it off, then I turn it on again? I accidentally deleted your comment, sorry mate. So that particular problem with the headset not connecting back again some are reporting never happened to me. And to you guys I don't think the problem comes from the headset. Let me explain. I returned the first headset after using it for a while, since it had a very slight buzzing noise at deep base in the left earcup. That usually went away after a couple of minutes, but still I returned it, and it was replaced, and I recieved my new headset. So I can safely say that I basically tried two G933 headsets and that problem doesn't exist. But I remember some similar problems with USB devices some time ago on my other PC build. The problem came from the way USB drivers worked in Windows 7 back than. I worked out that problem by updating my USB and mainboard drivers, and disabling USB power saving features. When I built this current PC, I updated, and used the most recent drivers for everything. I use a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P mainboard. With all the drivers up to date and USB and other devices optimized from windows, with Power saving features completely off. I never have ANY sort of problem that some people are reporting. I think the problems comes from the wireless dongle, since when you turn off the headset, the dongle doesn't recieve the signal for a while, so the USB port might go into power saving, and not recieving the signal when you turn on your headset.
Crimtide It is far from being "Garbage" I did my research, and I also tried out many headsets, since my friend owns the shop. I can try out as many as I want. True enough you can find better ones for twice the price or something. Also a good Senheiser WITH headset amplifier is great. But this headset has a very good price-value ratio. It is NOT over priced. If I wasn't satisfied with it I would have returned it. Nothing is more simple.
Even a year later this still is utterly true. Pleather is by far the worst material on any headphones PERIOD. I've had it on my Solo 3's, Playstation Gold headset and Sony Mdr x1000s. It's god awful.
I recently broke my old g930 headset and Logitech decided to upgrade me to the g933s for free, now this review has me all hyped up for when it comes in the mail! Their customer support is awesome btw. I can't wait to try my new headset! Thanks for the video.
Ive owned these for over a year now, great headset, main complaint is poor firmware on logitech's part. Anyone whos had one of these since launch knows the mic muting issues and the RGB lighting turning on randomly to serve no purpose other than to drain the battery 3x faster. All were eventually solved with firmware update around the end of 2016. Still love em though.
The wireless does not work for the Xbox One. To get full use out of the headset you need to plug in the transmitter, use the audio out with the transmitter (if you want wireless and good sound), and to get voice chat you still have to plug into the controller (which is horrible, no one can hear you). So definitely not a good option for xbox.
The sidetone on the G933 can barely be heard compared to the G930. It feels like the g933 at 100% sidetone sounds the same as the G930 at about 15% sidetone. They say they cant fix this on the official forums (bullshit). I bought them on release and they are still in the box because of the sidetone issue.
Yep, I totally feel you on that. I just got these a few days ago and the sidetone issue was the glaring fault that I noticed. I upgraded from my F540s (which are pretty much the older, xbox 360 version of yours) and the sidetone is so loud and clear by comparison. And yeah, I loved the "We'll never be able to make the sidetone as loud as the G930s because of hardware differences" excuse. What does that mean exactly? That the hardware in these expensive new headphones doesn't come up to par with the way older ones? That's bullshit. Despite this flaw, I've been using them since I got them and I'm actually starting to get used to the quieter sidetone. It's a different situation for me though. These are a HUGE sound upgrade over my F540s, whereas it's a much more marginal upgrade for you with the G930s. It's more or less worth the compromise for me.
Well after four days of research I pulled the trigger on a pair of these today from Amazon. I was also looking at the Sennheiser PC 363D, the ASUS STRIX and the Astro A40. It was a tough choice and price was partly a factor. The Astro for 7.1 ended up being 250-300. The Strix just seemed to try and do too much and did not concentrate enough on sound quality. The Sennheiser, while perhaps the best as sound quality, lacked a bit in flexibilty in being able to customize your sound. It somewhat reminds me of some restaurants that do not have salt and pepper on the table and they are going to decide how your food should be spiced. While wireless is not a deal breaker, the fact that this has it is a small plus but glad I can go wired also. Question, I still have a PS3, should these work with it? Man, can't wait for Saturday now.
My mic often refuses completely, I got the wireless g933 myself. But aside from that I have a whole list of problems aside from that. It resets the connection rather often, it doesn't matter if I turn it off or leave it on it simple has the urge to mute all sound or even stranger only let me hear part of the sound coming trough. Another problem seems to be the USB receiver which seems to find it hard to connect to the system while plugged in for some odd reason. I noticed that problem actually today very clearly. This headset is riddled with problems and so far I haven't seen Logitech solve these problems aside from throwing out driver updates that seem to be the same update multiple times a day (bug?). I'm starting to doubt my choice in headset rather completely. I had no issues with Logitech's previous products, but this is seriously starting to doubt my trust in them.
The G933’s USB wireless receiver can accept analog inputs from up to two different devices, meaning you could have TV, phone, and PC audio all pumping into your headset simultaneously (this will probably give you a headache). :p
G930 had connection problems for me... got 933... went nice few weeks/months. Wireless connection problems... Even turned to clicking and static sounds that went away after I did a firmwire update, only to return when I moved usb again, seeing it kept disconnecting... bloody lovely situation I got with logitech headphones up untill now.
worth to mention that this device has the annoying issue of disconnecting if there is no sound. Sometimes the gaming software even freezes my explorer, forcing me to restart my machine. if you don't install the software it works without issue, but forget about the 7.1 experience. besides that, i love the device.
"you can't get 7.1 on consoles with this headset wireless or wired" without connecting it to your PC via an Aux Cord Directly from the Console's HDMI or your TV's AUX yes There is a way to use the surround as long as the console uses Dolby surround, which is a simple requirement already
Just bought these for 130 euro, was in search for wireless for my pc, i hate them cabels. Thanks for the video explaining your thoughts. I always had cabel on my headphones before so i believe these were a good purchase. Still awaiting them to arrive this week. Can you only charge these through cabel or have you seen anything about a charging station or a hanger for these?
They are great when they work. But there is a software glitch (I hope software) which cause them to restart every few minutes. Some believe the glitch is related to the sleep mode. The glitch occurs first with a ticking in the left ear, before the device restarts. It is annoying when you need to communicate effectively with people and renders the device useless and not worth their price.
I just bought one after my Astro A50 battery died on my, i used my astro for 2 yrs but sadly its hard to replace the battery. i went to buy the new 3rd Gen Astro but my eyes came across the G933. well the new Astro didt differ from the previous one so i gave the 933 a try and i did regret it. The best option is that i can use it on my PC, PS4 and Xbox one. you can customise the sound and the mic is amazing. Plus its 100$ less than Astro.
nice review :) I actually have this G933 and it last 10 hours with lights off for me. And yes you have to move then because they "dig" your head but it's the only thing you probleme you talked about I have, for me they doesn't fall off but yes the shape of your head does inpact ;)
I'm pretty sure that the surround sound does work on consoles, such as a PS4, when using the USB dongle. When using wired however, only stereo sound is available.
I just got mine from Amazon and after trying them on once I have no clue how it's even possible that they can fall off your head, they fit so perfectly snug. But everyone's head is different I guess but you have seemingly a loooot of adjustment room.
I'm thinking of buying these. I use skype very often so it is important to me that the mic quality is good. It sounds like there was like an electric flickering(word?) noise when you tested it. I wonder if this is the compression or the noise generated by the mic? Anyway good review!
The sound quality is amazing even without the surround sound. Plus surround sound is hard to find for consoles that still maintains a solid sound quality as well.
+MagpulSqwerl If you want a headset for console then yeah you gotta go with a console dedicated headset because those will have the best sound and mic quality considering they are designed for the console. This headset is mainly designed for PC with console compatibility on the side.
Had the g633. An absolute nightmare with the sideplates falling of and the cord fucking up. But the mic was a dream. But i just ordered the g933 for a 100$, hope it's good
What about the sound issues with audio mixing? LGS problems, some PS4 games make the audio chop in a static way, even during your review you can clearly hear how loud those ear pieces creak. it's directly on your head but moving make it creak loudly and you can hear it. 2nd set now and having horrible audio issues.
I have the g910 spectrum keyboard, g502 spectrum mouse and g430 surround headset and I must say that Logitech makes very good hardware, but their problem is the software. Particulary the headset driver part. 10 seconds after trying to play sound through you headset the driver commits suicide. So I tried them on my laptop, I plug them in and with a few hickups they work fine, but when I unplug them, there's no sound. I restart the laptop and it doesn't recognize it's built in speakers anymore. The worst part is that the headset driver crashing has been there for years now and it isn't specific to a single headset, to my knownledge all surround headsets have the same issue. They didn't even bother to fix it before releasing new headsets.
Great video man. i wonder if the stereo sound of the g633 is better than the virtual surround sound on Sony gold. i'm a competitive player on Rainbow six on ps4 and need to get another headset since mine broke. :( thanks in advance
Hi there, great review. Having had a pair of Corsair VOID Pro RGB for less than 12 hours and already contacted the reseller to return them due to instability and loose fit how would you say the fit is on the G933 (aside from falling off the back of your head)? Can you turn your head without them whirling off, what about looking down etc? Thanks.
lol exactly when you were talking about having no disconnection wirelessly with that headset my G930 lost connection with the base that is 5 inch away from me xD. Although I contacted Logitech about my issues with my G930 and they will send me this headset, I can't wait to get it!
nice review dude, i have a g930 at the minute and just bought a corsair vengeance h2100, i loved the 930 but broke the mic, i absolutely hate the h2100 so far, the audio seems to be that boosted beatz by dre style crap, had to do a lot of adjusting they sound ok now, but theyre the most uncomfortable thing ever, im gonna return them so im torn between another 930 and a 933. Do you think if i find the 930s perfect to wear the 933 should feel as comfortable?
Nice review. I have to disagree on the "breathable mesh versus 'leather'" thing though. If it really was leather, I'd likely agree that it was the better option, but that pleather BS that Logitech (and so many other companies use) is complete garbage, imo. I've had two of their F540 headsets (basically the old school Xbox 360 version of the G930) and on both of them, the pleather covering has peeled away to nothing but sticky, powdery residue that comes off on your ears and hands. It's disgusting. This happened in a span of about a year and a half on both of them. It was such an inconvenience, in fact, that it's the sole reason I even opted to search for a new headset, despite the old ones being perfectly fine otherwise. Needless to say, I'll never buy a headset with that shitty pleather covering again. Good on Logitech for doing away with it on their newer premium models, I say. Edit: Just wanted to add that I replaced my old phones with the G933s and I'm loving the comfort and sound quality. It's a shame the sidetone is so low though. My F540s blew them out of the water in that sense.
i had hyper x cloud and i was so happy but the wires goes always next to my mouse wutever i do , wires are pain in the ars i end up getting g933 and holly hell they sound so amazing i mean with hyper x everything is loud and sometimes ur ears start biping lol but g933 eliminate some useless sound like loud explosion and other sounds and give a great sound of footsteps someone reloading it basically make little details sounds great and loud sounds sound great but not loud while keeping ur ears comfy and one great thing if u have keyboard and mouse from logitech they react if ur headset is low battery everything start going Red
Hey man, I was really wondering if the headset interferes in signal if you use it along with the G703 for example? Do they keep functioning well together? Thanks for the review.
The Tech Chap Thanks :) Can I turn the lights off on the driver with a PC and use it for console gaming without lights? I play mainly on PS4 and I really don't need the lights. I'd rather have the battery life.
These have very nice sound and are comfortable but mine developed a problem where it would lose pair with the USBthumb randomly at times. Got myself the SteelSeries Arctis 7 for gaming now which I can rely on to stay connected but they don't sound as good. I prefer the G933 but I just cant trust mine to stay connected during gaming. I still use for music and movies and everything except gaming where I can't stop to push the pin into the USBthumb to renew connection when it drops out.
Thier a bit outdated now, but I still use mine, I love them! Couldn't agree with you more! I would like to add though, the wifi distance has always astounded me. I can go outside my house and still chat on discord, and that's with a concrete wall between the headphones and the wifi receiver. (As habitually gross as it is, If you're a smoker like me, it's a real perk!)
The only thing I found that this chap is wrong about(might just be a software update) is that the surround sound does work for my Xbox one. very great review though.
great review man, I'm actually buying them tomorrow :) But I have to ask you something. I have a very powerful pc (gpu- 970, cpu- i5 6600k, 16gb RAM....) but when you played rainbow six in the video it looked so smooth, just like the 60fps gameplay videos on youtube. I play all my games on 60fps but it never looks like that. Any suggestion? p.s. I'm also buying a 27'' monitor 4k , will that change something?
no no, I finally realized that the whole thing about smoothness and feeling like u r in the game is all about response time and refresh rate. For example: I want to play BF4 , FC4 and AC Syndicate and run them on ultra or high settings but I want it to look smooth like those 60fps youtube videos. So to do that I need a monitor that has: 1ms response time; 60-144hz refresh rate, and 2560 x 1440 resolution, g-sync) The only problem is that I don't know if my GTX 970 (4bg) will be able to run those games with that kind of monitor on 60+ fps.
I have used g933 forever now and It has never really dropped off my head unless im like shaking my head a lot, I can even be upside down and then it kinda slides down but it doesn't fall of that easy? Maybe its just me. :P
Ah what a damn shame about no surround with the consoles. These sound damn good but when I look for new headphones they should be a big upgrade over my current ones which are stereo and naturally I want surround for my next ones.
Thijs van Abs In other reviews, it is stated that surround sound is available when using these wireless. But when wired through a controller, only stereo sound is available. PS4's only push 5.1 Dolby, so I guess it's true 7.1 is not available with these on a PS4, but 5.1 Dolby is.
Ballhead_Slick It actually appears that I am incorrect, do you know *any* way around this to allow 7.1 Dolby or even DTS to work on console, PS4 to be exact.
how come reviews aren´t going through the roof for hotswaping batteries? I mean a wireless headset you don´t have to recharge, best wireless headset there is
bro just tell 1 thing that its really feel true 7.1 surround effect and how is the bass quality ? its a very loudy headphone ? ( i like deep hard loud bass) and if battery will fully gone like 0% to 1% so its possible to use through usb data like Wired headphones ? i hope u will reply soon :)
+robe rocks the 7.1 is fantastic - really a great selling point of the headphones i love it and Bass is fantastic too (set the sound preset to cinematic gaming for maximum bass!). Yes you can use it with 1% battery while connected via USB for charging
+The Tech Chap TV Thx a lot for reply and thx for information . i am also like this headphone & planning for buy :D but another thing i forget to say this headphone mic sound so crackling which is really not good 4:49 . its a hardware or software problem ?
the surround sound of dolby sucks when the game does not support 7.1. When you hear something from your left, you can hear them at your left and right.
Im fairly sure that I will buy those this weekend, just a question tho. Can you chose your own colour when using them on your PS4, like do the personal settings stay when you switch from PC to PS4?
what would be better, I bought these but I was torn between these or hyper x cloud 2. I mainly use discord for speaking with teammates, play csgo, and listen to rap music.
Just bought them today, my luck there's going to be a new, more updated pair coming out real soon or the price will drop lol it happens everytime I buy something gaming related
If my self and my brother got a G933 can we both use them in 1 house using wireless?? Also why does your mic have a little crackling noise in the mic test?
That's a good question - I'm not sure if they will interfere with each other - might be worth sending Logitech a tweet directly asking about that. I guess the little crackling noise is just what the mic sounds like - i didn't edit or adjust the audio at all so the mic quality is exactly how it is.
So you don't get simulated surround sound on consoles even with an optical cable through the transmitter like I have my astro 50's setup with? My astro's are old 1st gen and starting to have some issues like voice cuts out while speaking so not every word is heard to my group. Looks like the new a50's are still probably king.
