I've had the Z906 for 7 years and always worked perfectly. About a few months ago I started having the same problem. During use (using it as speakers for my TV) I heard a "tick" and the 2 lights started burning and nothing worked anymore. It didn't respond to neither the buttons on the console nor the remote. Unplugging and replugging the powercable didn't work. I found a guy on the internet with the same problem. He suggested removing and reconnecting the "input" cable of which the issue started so I removed and reconnected my optical cable and everything worked again... for a few days. After that the problem started recurring and every time I "fixed" it with reconnecting the inputcable, the issue came back quicker than the time before. Now I'm at the point where the 2 lights are always on and I cannot "fix" it anymore. I found out on the internet that the problem is similiar to the 3 lights problem. A transistor or condensator/capacitator is fried. This usually happens after a sudden powercut. It is possible to fix, however it is not easy! Open the subwoofer and use a multimeter to find out which part is fried and replace that with a soldering iron. Transistors/capacitators are not that expensive but its a lot of work to find the right one and fix the issue. To anyone with the same problem I suggest getting ur money back either via insurance or warranty. For me it's too late, I'm taking my losing and going to look for another surround set :(.
Thanks, i have the same problem with 3 lights. I swapped the main switch and that wasn't the problem. Logitech couldn't tell me about the problem. They were convinced that it was due to the purchase date, which is 2014. But I have the system twice and the other one works. I either buy a new subwoofer or a new system.

Hi guys i found the solution, i repaired almost 5 z906 with out problems 😮, the solution is cheapper but you need to change one component un the main board, regards
I have exactly the same problem. Is there anybody who solved this problem? The rest is working good so it should be such a waste of money to buy a whole new system...
Mines started to play up badly as of today. Sound keeps cutting in and out. Had 4 bottom input lights on at one point. Tried resetting and powering off and stuff to no avail. Loud popping at times too. Quite sad as it's been a great speaker system used almost everyday for just shy of 11 years. I habe no idea how to replace parts so just looks like ill have to buy the set again. its increased in orice a third since i got it in 2013
Having an issue with some buttons on controller/receiver not working. Some buttons on remote stopped working as well. its actually pathetic that one spends about 6 grand on this system, and 3 years down the line it starts giving issues, and also no help from logitech.
Mine just stopped to send signal on rear right Opened and everything seems fine around output Measure everything i can and everything has a value. I don’t have any knowledge about how to fix it and i was hoping to find a fail resistor or capacitor to replace Anyone have any ideea what would be the problem?
Hi. Got two full sets of them. Both of them got the same problem. No powering on. After 5 years of use! The first issue was the problem with communicating between remote control and controller. After one week they not powering on! Got the same problem with both sets after a similar time of using them. Spend already on them more than £700. The stereo system is brilliant, just don`t want to spend another 300. Is anyone of you had the same problem? How did you solve it? Thanks to all responders
3 lights = no serial comm between console and main board, 2 lights = no readiness signal from amp. I also had two lights. The cause was the black stuff they poured all over the PCB. It got conductive (sometimes lower than 200k). Once I removed it, the system came back to life! :) Be very careful though not to lift/destroy an SMD component. I ripped Q8 unfortunately - because of that DD5.1/DTS decode no longer work - only dolby surround. If anyone could tell me the part number of Q8 I'd greatly appreciate it (it's right of the "sub out" connector).
@@michaelneuweiler8161 maybe u have an answer to my problem aswell. My Problem is that the lights are jumping through the whole thing, cant press anything either.
It was never solved. The receiver in the console was fried. We had a bout of electrical outages, ended up replacing my entire sound system. The hard reset did work once or twice but eventually I just gave up on it and had the insurance company replace them.
@@PapaBonas thanks for the answer, i'll try with the warranty for the unit console remplacement them. Its a pity that the great z906 sound system Will be deshoroned by the console unit blame. Edit: i hace changed the central unit and i get the same issue!!! The problem don't come from central unit!!! I al going ti loose my mind.. :( Thanks for all Friends :D
HOW TO FIX IF SUBWOOFER IS OK BUT CONTROL UNIT NOT WORKING : Attempt 1) Turned on unit, got zero lights. Tried the Logitech Factory Reset (Turn off control unit, then hold the input button for 8 seconds) and saw 2 input lights turn on, but no sound. Tried this procedure several times, and got 3 inputs lights, then tried again, now with 4 input lights on, but again no sound or other lights. Attempt 2) Disconnected power to subwoofer for 30 seconds, and tried Factory Reset again, with same results as Attempt 1, but now with 3 input lights on. Attempt 3) Disconnected cable from Control Unit to subwoofer, waited 30 seconds, tried Factory Reset yet again, with same results as Attempt 1. Attempt 4) Disconnected power to Subwoofer and Control Unit cable. Waited 60 seconds and tried Factory Reset again, and got same results as Attempt 2 - No Joy. Attempt 5) Found this video, and although was not that helpful, tried Attempt 4 yet again several more times and on the last try, this time it works, and my Z906 is back to normal ! Lesson Learned : You may have to power the subwoofer down and disconnect the control cable and then try the Factory Reset Proceedure more than a few times to get your Z906 back into its working state !
Hello i have the exact same problem here except that noises. I can't nether reset or shut them off. But sometimes i am unplugging the console cable from the sub and put it back after a few minutes sometimes works some others not. Please if anyone can help me i will be grateful. (sorry for english)

@@mehmetedex Any progress there? I replaced the resistors R5, R8, R12, R26, R95, R119 (all 3.3kohms), R79 and R80 (both 5,6 Ohm 3W), capacitors C27 and C41 (470uf/63V), capacitors C39 and C40 (47uf/16V), fusion F1. But the problem still persists. Any other idea what else to replace?
