Victor Timely is a variant of Kang. This is not Kang's traditional story, this is a branched kangs story. His traditional story is like in the comics, he who remains says so in s1e6

I love how Hector is wrong about everything! Don't feel bad though, we all had those same theories in some form or another. My favorite wrong theory was Jack at McDonald's was a young Mobius.

I love how this episode plays on our preconceptions regarding Timely. Even Hector spends the opening convinced we’re watching the origin of a malevolent Kang, but Victor completely blindsided us by being so endearing and kinda goofy.

This show gives perfect examples of my secret rules of the MCU. Rule 1: The MCU is not the comics. The TPBs are one of many sources for inspiration. Rule 2: Creative formula; Find a good story, find good people to help tell it, have just enough fun telling it to not spoil things for the fans. Rule 3: Just when you think you have the story figured out; is exactly when they will try to turn everything on its head.

I really missed ya'll reviews of the Marvel shows. You guys have always been the most fair YT reviewers I follow. So glad to re-watch this series through your reviews.

I love watching these reactions already knowing how the season ends. Hector comes up with the most informed but wrong theories as he's watching things. It's fun watching the wheels spin.

Tara Strong as Miss Minutes proves once again why she is one of the greatest voice actors OF ALL TIME! Also Victor Timely, Miss Minutes and Sylvie are all tragic victims of the original Kang in many ways. Miss Minutes because all she wanted from Kang was love, which being the evil bastard he is used that to ensure her loyalty and nothing else. Sylvie because like Victor, she is a variant who had her life ruined because she wanted break the cycle and be a good person. And Victor because he is much like Leonardo Da Vinci or Nikola Tesla, a genius ahead of his time who wants to genuinely make the world a better place, but is a victim of forces beyond his control, just like Sylvie. Also I honestly never thought we would ever get a mention of Thor’s REAL BIOLOGICAL BROTHER BALDER! Aside from God Of War 2018 he NEVER gets mentioned in any mainstream franchise.

Brilliant! It’s amusing to listen to Hector muse on possibilities. It is truly one of the most inventive shows to date. The finale will floor you. It will leave you absolutely … let’s just say, I’m a wreck. Best work from the Marvels since Endgame.

Just to clarify, this isn't quite Endgame rules. This season proves the TVA can indeed travel back in time without branching. But yes, Ravonna and Miss Minutes did indeed branch the 1868 timeline when they gave Victor the book.

Victor timely isn’t He Who Remains but one of his variants. His name IS Victor. Not secretly Nathaniel. In season 1 when kang gives his backstory to Loki and sylvie, he reveals he is from the 31st century. Once sylvie killed him in the season 1 finale, all of his variants were allowed to exist since the timelines weren’t being pruned (in this episode O.B. Says the timelines Dox pruned are growing back). Just like how in the third ant man installment, it’s another variant of He Who Remains.

Actually, Hector, Kang in the MCU also comes from the 31st century. He Who Remains said it in the first season. I think it's just Victor Timely who comes from the 19th century.

Now, that I’m rewatching I’m catching all the foreshadowing for the finale .

The Chicago World's Fair was the first large-scale public place ever lit by electricity, so that fits. It's also the site of George Ferris' original Giant Wheel (or Ferris Wheel) and it was much larger than depicted in Loki. It was 230 feet tall (that's over 40 stories) with 36 passenger cars capable of holding 60 people each for a total of 2,160 people at a time.

Guys you forgot at the end of season 1, he who remains did say a variant of his in the 30 century started it.

All science is fiction until it is fact, Victor timely during his presentation. Whoa! Def one of the themes of the season. No wonder he and ob are so enthralled with each other.

3:12 actually remember in season 1 ep 6 HWR said a variant of himself in the thirty-first century discovered that universes was stacked on top of themselves

Oooh...the best thing about this series was that the usual folks just could not predict any part of the show. It was hilarious to see each episode end and have majority of the reactor theory be TOTALLY wrong....LOL

In 1x06, HWR explained that a variant of himself lived on Earth in the 31st Century. So his origin is still from the future. But the question is, how did Victor end up in the 1800s?

Brilliant Owen Wilson impression! I fricken loved this series. As Loki says don’t worry it will make sense. 😊. It is important to read whether a timeline is “sacred” or branched. It says so under each time and location place. Glad you noticed that. A lot of people missed that.

Expo 2023 in Buenos Aires was cancelled, but the next World's Fair is in Los Angeles in 2024, so yeah, they still exist, but don't look like the 19th century ones anymore!

Whoever wrote this has never looked at a map of the United States or they would know that Wisconsin is not "across" any lake from Chicago. And the director put the city on the wrong side of the boat for a packet running from Chicago to Wisconsin.

Kang is still from the distant future. He seeded one of his own variants in the past to be contacted in case he got killed.

I wouldn't be so confident about seeing Nathaniel Richards in the MCU. Jonathan Majors probably isn't going to be called back for any more Marvel roles in light of his legal troubles, and rumor has it they're going to write Kang out of the story in favor of Victor von Doom.

I don’t think that Victor coming from the 1800s negates the possibility that we could see a Nathaniel Richards from the far future. In the comics and even the Spider-Verse films, we’ve seen variants of the same person from different points in time coexist. (think Peter Parker/Spider-Man Noir from the 1940s alongside Peter B. Parker and others)
