Part 2 of 3 - Interior restoration work and exterior paint finishing.
This deceptively short slideshow follows the internal transformation of RF512 from tattered old wreck to almost new condition. Many 100's of man hours were required to strip, prepare, repaint and re-cover all the interior surface's.
To achieve the look and feel of the original 1950s vintage the paints and materials are matched to modern equivalents and in most cases appear 100% authentic.

This is nothing short of a fantastic job done with the RF vehicle. These are highly skilled people who have been putting in hours of graft to bring this bus in to an authentic appearance.

I had to come and find this, I've just seen the bus on the MV (video) for Fri(end)s, the latest song release by V of BTS. He also filmed at the Ace Cafe for the retro 50's diner/70's feel of the MV. The bus is beautiful; shoutout for all your skills and talent in renovating a piece of history. 💜

Since I was a child I was interested in many older London Transport buses, LTs, CRs Ts and Qs, RTs RMs etc., some of the municipal and provincial buses and even some foreign ones such as the Saviem SC10 or Berliets PCMR and Renault TN 6. But, the RF to me is one of the most beautiful ever built. The shape and the lines are too perfect for words. The 3 windows at the rear, the overhang, the off balance windscreen, wheel arches. Not to mention the unique engine sound, this one is missing wheel trims though. Really nice upload.

I can't remember why the front nut guards/wheel trims were missing in these pictures, it may have had something to do with the farcical COIF test! They were fitted at a later date. From a restoration point of view the RF is a bit of a nightmare, even after fifteen major RF restorations it never got any easier but I enjoyed every minute. I guess it's fitting that my last restoration is an RF.
