Yes , I understand completely what you mean . I just became chronically ill with CRPS in November and I cry everyday because I was so active before this happened and now I’m just totally fatigued and depressed and feel hopeless a lot . My first flair up was so painful i was terrified to get out of bed for weeks after because I didn’t want to stir up another one .

I'm sorry that I've just found your post now. You are very lucky to have anyone to call "friend". I have S.L.E., trigeminal neuralgia & quite a number of other illnesses. I am like you, no U.K. driver's license so I am housebound, with my dog. I am also married but men, especially my husband, HATE to converse. I had a large extended family none of whom 'phone never mind call in. I remember when we were living full-time in our home in the U.S.A., I saw many specialists (as I still do but the National Health Service does not compare). I saw my neurologist every two weeks & I was always last patient of his day. One afternoon, as we walked together to the parking lot, he warned me that one day I might find myself with just my husband at my side. Shocked, I thought, surely not? He told me that if doctors are not taught how to handle chronically ill patients then how are we to expect "laymen" to understand? You are blessed to have the odd person even drop in once in a blue moon. The thing that makes me saddest is, I attended church regularly & had one person visit every other week for an hour or two. After a year or two now, I am aware that she is angry at having to visit her own family or have them over for a meal so it doesn't exactly make me feel like being that extra burden she doesn't need. I get you!! I would have loved a pen pal. Please don't put yourself down. I realise that I'm not alone when I hear someone like you, honest enough to share your own situation. You are correct about everyone who is able to drop by being just too busy to bother with folk like us. Life would be hard enough with loneliness but throw a number of chronic illnesses into the mix & you have a real recipe for misery although I try & maintain a sense of humor. Treasure the friends you have, I have none.........

Yes you do have a friend me! I also made a discord which is like a forum to chat and make friends discord.gg/uQ3Kcc I know online isn’t quite the same but it helps so yes please come and join if you can it’s free we chat about chronic illness and vintage fashion and spirituality and geeky things and you are more than welcome! It’s so hard I know it is because friends have busy lives but that’s why I started this channel so I could meet people and make friends and so yes you have a new friend! Links to all my social media is in my description of every video and today’s video is about pets and mental health so lots about my dog who is snoring beside me xx

hi! i just watched this video and, coincidentally, i'm currently reading a book about loneliness called "politive solitude" by rae andré. i can't feel what you feel, of course, and i have a very different life than yours, but i think this could be a very interesting read for you! it is really changing my views on being all by myself. great video, keep doing them! my best regards
