These guys were something special ! From young boys they sang in harmony . I don't know about anyone else but I feel we were truly blessed to have them and their songs/ music in our lives . God bless the Bee Gees and thank you for all the great years of meaningful songs !
I really miss the days when these guys rules the airwaves. I was about 11 years old when the soundtrack for SNF was released, and if you weren’t there for that, I’m telling you - every other song played on the radio was a Bee Gees song. Such fond memories. Now they’re gone and it saddens me. Watching this really kind of causes me too long for those days. 😢❤
Me too. I grew up in the 70's and it was the best time of my life !!! There are some songs and groups that are O.K. now but nothing compares to back then. It was great !!!
When I first heard the BeeGees and this song I thought it was the Beatles singing. I hadn’t heard of the BeeGees yet. That was in 1970 and it didn’t take me long to hear about the BeeGees.
Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for sharing another wonderful Bee Gees"Midnight Special" performance with us. It definitely feels like Christmas has arrived 9 months early this year!
Shout out to the piano man❤❤Maurice. Always in the background but indispensable. They sounded superb in all the these Midnight Specials. Thanks for posting!!
Okay, now I'm listening before signing into work. I saw "Lonely Days" and knew I had to make time. Three brothers at their live best and, yeah, Alan and Dennis are on stage too. Love it. Thanks.
You are feeling it exactly as intended! It moves between a minor key in the verses which gives off melancholy, sad vibes and then has a key change to a major key in the chorus which is uplifting and happy. So we jump between the two feelings which is unusual. I find it so interesting
@1039sflem That level is called TREMOLO and is very rare in human voice, it is more instrumental. I read about it in a Musicology journal about the human voice in music and its occurrence throughout the world throughout the ages. It also stated that TREMOLO in particular has almost never appeared as a human singing voice within the last 150 years and with today's influences in popular music it may never reappear. Music historian Paul Gambaccini described Robin Gibb as "one of the major figures in the history of British music" and "one of the best white soul voices ever".
Excellent Robin dancing..............................to the Sky................................................and his wonderful voice..................
Nobody can deliver a performance as PERFECT as The Bee Gees! I absolutely LOVE them! They are the reason I fellin love with harmonies when I was a young girl❤❤❤
💖🐝🎶🐝🎶🐝💖 Love my daily dose of time travel; the performances, the music, the clothes, the hair! LIVE at its absolute best!!! To have been alive & there at the time... Sigh... 😔 Huge Bee Gees fan, but am enjoying all of your content. Thank you for posting!
Yes indeed....& Robin still trying to get the beat down! Someone commented on Lay It On Me that watching Robin dance was like watching a baby deer walk for the first time.😂
I love the BeeGees. In my younger days, I'd listen to them on the radio. However, I was more into R&B/Soul music. Now, in my "elder days," I've appreciated the Bee Gees more and more. They gave their all when they performed. I loved the harmonies. There will never be another Robin, Maurice, and Barry. ❤
This was a most symphonic rendering, but my all-time favorite version is their One Night Only show that was in Vegas. It's a must-see, if you like this song. Bee Gees Forever!!!
A great song in its own right.......as a kid I thought it was a song evocative of and would fit right in with the Abbey Road Medley. (recorded around the same time).
I'm watching this, enjoying the music, and wondering what happened to Robin. Why did he become so thin and gaunt? Love their music, and there will never be another trio like them ❤.
My God......................................What a voices.............................................Barry.............Maucie,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,-Robin.................................to the stars............................
Y love you Robin, amor da minha vida! Homem lindo! Te amarei para sempre meu querido! Beijos 💋 💋 💋 ❤ Descance em paz, no amor de Deus, você, Maurice! Nunca vamos esquecer vocês! Obrigada por tudo!
Robin's voice is so beautiful at 2:31-2:45, and he looks so sweet with his graceful hand movements and heavenward glance... and then BOOM, all grace deteriorates into his gleeful, dorktastic Robin bouncedance at 2:54. 😆❤❤❤
@@burtsugarman-pq3mp Bless you, Mr. Sugarman. Music was a huge part of my life, growing up. You have no idea what this means to me, to be able to see these artists , on The Burt Sugarman, Midnight Special, again!! Thank you so much, for giving us this, for free!!! Bless you!
Sounds like a song John Lennon would have written, even sounds like him singing, but yeah this is Good :)... or maybe just wanting to see some john on the midnight, hum
These guys are a bunch of hypocrites. One of their hit records was titled “Stayin’ Alive.” What did they know about “staying alive?” They’re nearly all dead! Another of their hit songs should have had the title “How Deep is Your Bruv!”
