Is that what he is? A Palm Squirrel? Such beautiful markings, almost like a chipmunk. And so sweet with his human family. Gillraj is very lucky to have be found by such a caring family. May he and his family have many years together, full of health, happiness, and love.
Gillraj is cute as a button and he's so tiny. Thank you so much to this wonderful family for all the love, kindness and compassion you are showing to this sweet, innocent little guy. What a wonderful, heartwarming story. ♥🐿🙏
After the last hurricane my cat brought a baby squirrel home. He didn’t hurt it. He just carried him home and showed me. We tried putting him in the yard to see if a squirrel would come down and take him but none did. So finally we intervened. We took care of him for a day and waited for everything to open back up after the storm passed and then took him to the SPCA. I hope he is doing well.
My sister-in-law rescued a week old baby squirrel from a cat. We'd both raised him for over 6 weeks when he passed. It broke our hearts and devastated us BUT... we'd still do it all over again if natue gave us another opportunity. PB&J was a cool little dude that taught us so much. Not just about wildlife but, about the out dated perception of some wildlife being considered pest when they are not. It also showed us how inadequate our area/state is on rehabs for wildlife. The closest rehaber (and any wildlife rehab)was almost 4 hours away in all directions. We're working to change that and making things better for any animal in need. Be kind to yourself,, your pets and each other.❤
The connection between animals and humans can be just as strong as between humans. Any living creatures that thinks, feels, and cares is relatable to us if we just get the chance to get to know them. Despite being completely different in size or looking completely different. And without being able to speak to each with words like us humans do to each other. Acts of trust and kindness can sometimes express more than words. I think it's beautiful how we can bond to animals in this way. To them it's the normal social interaction. To us it's a chance to experience something deep and primordial that still exists in us humans, too.
@@margaretclark......akamarm2600It's an Indian Palm Squirrel. We don't have them in the U.S.A. They are from INDIA. They may look a bit like our chipmunks, but they are NOT chipmunks. I'm glad you have rescued (I assume) 6 Chipmunks. NOT. INDIAN. PALM. SQUIRRELS.
I am glad the squirrel found a loving family. But I could never find a squirrel nest even though they are somewhere in our attic. I thought that if a baby squirrel is lost but it's too dangerous, the mum waits and comes out later to retrieve it. It's a hard situation. You should just put it somewhere safe and watch it, but who has the time and the mum may never come... or you take it home even though the mum may have picked it up later. Well Squirrel is happy and that is all that matters. I love how they treat him.
Thought at first that looks like a chipmunk. Then noticed they are not in North America, and there are many creatures that look different or called different names in different parts of the world. Beautiful squirrel.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
First: you made no 2nd point. Second: what does the species of animal have to do with finding relatives? Third: Do you think they owners, who made a mistake with the species, are going to look for a different species in order to find these relatives?
I was raised in Michigan and they were everywhere. I live in Florida and I haven’t seen a chipmunk in decades. I don’t think they live down here because I’ve never seen one, but I do see squirrels. We don’t have porcupines down here either. Just saying.
