For the sake of brevity, I cut out my explanation of balancing out long legs vs "hiding" them. This isn't about hiding your features. Long legs are gorgeous! But they can be challenging to make outfits with, especially when paired with a short torso. Flaunt your legs and make the rest of your outfit fit together. That's the goal 💞
I appreciate all of your tips! I’ve been using them and I feel so much better in my clothes. I especially like that you show yourself as an example; it makes it that much easier to comprehend. I’m glad I found your channel. Keep up the good work👍🏼
I enjoyed the tips thanks. I am 6ft tall with a stupidly short body and I do the opposite to most of your tips lol. Example I have to have patterns on the bottom because there just isn't enough upper body space to cope with patterns. The number one thing I do to balance myself out which suits me because I cannot stand things fitted around my waist (and because my waist is so high up it's literally a boob shelf) Is I just hide it. I wear long line tops that don't fit at the waist and If I need to belt them I belt them at my hips. Works for me :)
I have have crazy long legs am only 5'4'. I love making them look longer but I don't tuck any tops in. A crop top looked good when I was younger. Actually long pants with a bit of flare is great. I hate that I cannot wear wide leg pants. Oh well...
Am I the only person who hates having exposed ankles in the winter? I would love to follow your tip, especially since I'm 5'11'" with ridiculously long legs, but I would freeze here in the Midwest in the middle of winter!
Lol no I hear that a lot (especially from the Midwest). Go with a high contrast boot instead. My recent video talks about it more ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sxfJbwTbMcc.html
to be honest with you, non of these looked terrible on you. I opened the video cause I'm making vision boards for styling dos and don't for fashion school. I'm in my senior year, I disagree quite often with my teachers on how to style atypical body types and I think all of the outfits worked more or less on you. I suppose long legs can pull off most things. I'll act annoyed you didn't help me with my assignment, you had to look amazing in everything. It is incredibly hard to find any styling "don'ts" :P
Haha thank you! Good luck with your classes! How outfits look can be different from how they feel. When my legs feel super long and my upper body feels very short, I don't feel as happy in my outfits. But we're all harder on ourselves thanks to the pressures of images of models/others. Thanks for your kind words!
My classmates are used to seeing me with oversized shirts and jeans, two weeks ago we have a birthday party and they saw me with an outfit so different (turtle neck and off shoulder black shirt and a black miniskirt) and they went crazy telling me that I have really long legs and the high heels made them look even longer. That was the moment I was so proud of being short but with long legs. They still talk about that hahaha I'm gonna use some of your tips from now on ❤
I always wondered why my legs looked better with a gap between my footwear and bottoms. Unfortunately, I live in the UK and its cold 10 months of the year, so winter gap is not an option for me 🙃
