you're kidding right. this watch is over 3000€. First off, I wouldnt consider that affordable in a broad sense. Second, if you are willing to pay over 3000€ for a watch, there are many many many alternatives. Same price range is Tudor, Zenith, some Omega and Breitling. And as I said, if I am willing to pay that money for a watch, I might as well pay double. And you really have unlimited options then.
I said Longines. Not particularly this model. Just try to find something with a cosc at 2000€ , …. And Zénith, breitling, oméga at 3000€??? Where?,,, And a 5hz like this one at 3500€???. You are kidding 😂
What a stunning watch. The case shape, the colours and the style of the indices had me straight away...great lume is a bonus. New grail watch methinks!
The minute hand pops while the hour hand turns invisible in some lighting situations. The second hand should be white and lumed to show off the movement. Not all of the markers are loomed so it is hard to tell the time in the dark. I do believe this movement is a bargain at this price but the rest of the design has issues.
Is... Longines making a blocking move on Tudor? In the past their modern watches left me confused and wanting more... These classic designs... Are a step up...
Just got my Ultra-Chron today on the leather strap. Very handsome watch that wears perfectly on my 7 inch wrist. The wooden presentation box is also top notch. The cushion case has an excellent finish and the sapphire bezel gleams like a jewel. The signed crown is firm with no play and it winds up like butter. This is a beautiful dive watch that is worth every penny. Forget the lame Tudor BB...get this instead.
high beat movements are nothing new, been around long time. What's worse for a watch, running or not running. We could enter into a ton of discussions regarding what is best design and how to use it. I would rather just enjoy the watches as they are and not stress about it.
Hi I have bought it and I like it so much. The only question is about the screw down crown. It seems to me it is a little tricky to screw down it. But watching your video I understood I have to push it harder
@@theaussiewhinger Agreed. It is interesting though, that this new watch looks a lot more like the Vostok than the watch they say that they are paying tribute to. The case shape on the original is quite different.
The Longines indicies look like a hotdog in a bun🤦♂️. P.S. Is there a below average slow beat mechanical that's accurate? I'd give up the beats for movement longevity. Didn't Certina slow modify a ETA high beat?
I think this one's longevity comes from the silicon parts as longines doesn't recommend more frequent service intervals for this one vs other watches. Would be great if Grand Seiko started using silicon parts to improve durability and anti-magnetism of their hi beat movements as well.
It was a design decision made on purpose, not to save money or cut corners. This is a vintage inspired watch from their back catalogue. Most watches of that era didn't have fitted end links.
