The "Rose" in Joachim Meyer's longsword (and other weapons) has long drawn analysis and discussion.
In this video we use a blade action inspired by the rose to achieve a circular blade control from the bind - this isn't an analysis of the rose itself, rather the action is drawn from principles in the rose plays from Meyer's 1570 text.

Mr. Pope can you please elaborate a bit more on the rose and this inspired action? Somehow even in solomo I don't get the principle

One of the versions of the rose from the longsword section involved going from a wider guard and circling all the way around their sword to come over it into almost the same guard, then cutting in. In this version I'm doing the same thing, but with very small movements instead of the larger movements typically seen in the rose.
