They say the country is more divided than its ever been, but the fact that so many republicans are willing to vote for a democrat this round kind of flies in the face of that. And it's heartening to see.

Just a reminder. For the past month polls have been herding and on crosstabs are under polling genz and millennials by 5% each. And over representing gen X and boomers by 5% each. That makes a large difference of 2-6% based on turnout for democrats.

As a lifelong Republican I absolutely love the honor and truthfulness of Liz Cheney. She stood up when the other Republicans folded and enabled Trump. Good on Harris for realizing what an asset she is! I recognized Republicans were heading towards the drain when Sara Palin popped up but Trump has been a fiasco! I have already voted for Harris. Trump is really messed up and I am appalled how the Republicans are following him off the fascist cliff.

I am increasingly doubting it's truly being on the fence. I suspect most of that "category" is people who do know who they'll vote for but don't want to publicly admit leaning towards one way or the other.

The European allies could never again rely on the American partner. So, America would go it alone! In 20-30 years, it would be America against Russia/China and North Korea. At the moment USA might have the better technology, but with Taiwan gone to China this will instantaneously change. The most advanced microchip manufacturing is in Taiwan (TSMC) and all the AI chips will require the best technologies. And although you have the chip act, it will take decades to close the gap. If that is possible with Trump as leader. Most people aren't aware, but from planning a chip fab to the first chip coming out (working), it is easily 10 years! After that, there is no question that even from that perspective it is in the American interest to vote for Kamala
I disagree with Tim and Liz Cheney on a bunch of stuff but I have huge respect for the career sacrifice they are willing to make for the sake of the country. Also I think it's fair to say that some people on both sides of the aisle realise now that the disagreements we used to have pale into insignificance compare to Trump and MAGA.. I long for the day where we can go back to disagree over policy rather than disagreeing about truth and reality.

Tim and Brian, you are both amazing ,and I appreciate all you both do. My husband and I voted blue yesterday in Texas. We are in Edinburg, 20 min from the border. My sons are voting blue today. It was a small municipal building, and we only waited about 10-15 min. The poll workers were great, and there were plenty of voting machines. They even have workers outside assisting voters curb side. It was a great energy overall. 🗳💙🇺🇸
