The Lobos contest of 2015, earned them their 66 consecutive superior division. This is THE Big Green Marching Machine Music: Invictus March: Karl L King Chicagos Worlds Fair 1933 March Honey Boys On parade March
What an absolute pleasure to see a marching band actually try to march, and to hear them play actual band music! No BS scenery or props. No "yard sale" of extraneous percussion doodads cluttering up the near sideline! No dancing or prancing! No synthesizers! No narration to try to explain esoteric concepts to the audience! All meat and no potatoes! OK, it wasn't perfect, and there were a few blank files, but I loved it.
They are very good. Their sound, formations and synchronicity are very impressive. I wonder how many go on to Texas A&M and become members of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. Because with a bit of polish and practice all on the field would be qualified to make the cut.
They must have a reason to be PROTESTING so how about addressing it and working on fixing the problems they clearly are facing instead of offering sarcasm?
Those of us who where in the Kunkle world have had a very strong opinion, but for me, I will say this is the absolute BEST drill I've ever seen. Keeps the tradition with Honey Boys, and the execution was flawless. So sad it took me this long to find it.
How did you get in the press box to be able to record from that high? This is better than the recordings from the stands where you can't see all the formations.
No that's just how field marching is the band and the audience is usually so far away it takes longer for the sound to get there. Sound is slower than light. I am proud to have marched on this field many times with the Carthage High School Battling Bulldawg Band!
