When I tell you I’ve been sitting her for 25 minutes typing this, I’m not lying. This is long and probably confusing but whatever. I’m currently sobbing to this song on repeat. I’m stuck in my head, the constant painful reminder that I’m never going to be the one he wants. And that thought loops in my head over and over again. My entire life I’ve struggled with feeling like I was enough for other people. In my old school I was bullied, both mentally and physically, but I would still call the people who would bully me my friends. I felt like if I they took the time to pick on me then they at least acknowledged me as a person. That I was still there. I moved schools years ago now and I’ve gone through so many friends but I had one that even when we would have fights would always be there for me. But she got mad I liked the same guy she did. We fought over him, and it destroyed our friendship. She told me to kill myself, so I tried. What hurt most about everything was that she was my family, my best friend, I was in love with her, both platonically and romantically. And she hurt me more that any bully ever had. Because she was the one I went to, the one I cried to, and she became the one I was crying over. The guy we were fighting over decided to ‘talk’ to her, and secretly be friends with me. But when he found out that she told me to kill myself he broke it off from her completely. He became really close with me and my friends. One night he acted really into me, he knew that I had a crush on him. We cuddled, held hands, sat together, took cute couple-like photos, he even kissed me. And then the next day it was gone, he acted like none of it happened. He stayed really close to the group and it was fine. I’m used to being not wanted. But then he confessed to having a crush on my best friend, (a different one), which completely broke me. He wanted her, not me. She had previously talked about this guy who she was in love with, and how she would never like or date the guy I liked. She told me over and over that she would never do that to me. I had told her all the time about how I was falling in love with him, how I thought about him all the time, and she told me she was happy for me. So it broke my heart when they started dating. They would kiss and cuddle and be everything I wanted with him, right in front of me. I started telling everyone I was over him. After awhile her parents found out and disapproved so they decided to break up, he was devastated. She moved on after a few days and started talking to someone new. She broke his heart and destroyed him, and then moved on like it was nothing. And he still doesn’t want me, all he wants is her. I destroyed my longest friendship, myself, and my trust in my best friend, all for a boy who doesn’t, and will never, want me. And that kills me.
