Hi mate, yeah it's a lovely motor, lot of car for the money. The noise is the key feature with it lol. Since you're a cutters member you can have a good discount on it if you'd be interested or if you want to know anything about it ask away. I've done a few car videos now, this ones not my car its a friends the lad who bought the 435d to replace it, hes gutted no more v8 noise

Same here, missing the growl off my old V8 M3 I sold 6 months ago with the 2 pipe mod, sounded great on song but not in the same league as a C63, that's just pure evil... Think I need a V8 in my life again lol...

strongbowism e92 was a car I never got round to buying ended up with a mk3 Focus RS lol. Well like I say if you fancy making s cheeky offer on the car you're more then welcome, I'm going to try shifting it for the weekend

Stop it lol... Sold the 'M' due to a "money pit" house renovation but at last can see some light at the end of the tunnel so will be looking for a w/end car again very soon. I'm glad your not too close Craig, think i'd be coming for a look tomorrow otherwise lol...

strongbowism Its a cheap car once somebody makes an offer, doubt it'll end up going for cheap but that's the way the cookie crumbles lol. Had a few offers of £10,500 told them to better it and its there's but they've been wasters its probably the cheapest CLS63 in the country. Good call on throwing your money at property though that's my plan in the future

Very nice car ! - Black is the best colour in my opinion, I have the same car in Brilliant Silver mine is only 507 BHP! - did you put K&N air filters in it to get the extra 7 brake horse power? - I thought of doing this but did NOT fancy replacing the MAF airflow sensor for £300 once the oil from the K&N filters gets on it ! - Still 507 horse power is more then enough power for me and the sound is phenomenal with the windows right down !!!! and the glass sunroof wide open - What a shame your one does not have the sunroof option - I love a sunroof feature on any car on a hot day ! :-)

Ryan D Fuel wise its the worst car ever lol, I was looking after it for 6months+ and hated putting fuel in, only good thing was the sound lol

Just seen a silver 06 Benz the other day w a 6.2l badge on it, now looking at this Ik it’s not a amg, this car and the 1 I’ve seen has two different engine covers in it. (This 1 actually says “amg”)😂thought I was going to come up for the low price too.

These are a really rare car compared to the c63, I see them all the time. People think the engine is a 6.3 but it's only a 6.2 mind I say ONLY whilst pulling this face 😳😄😄

Yes, I got your reply my end. Yeah I bought my CLS 63 from a guy in London for £36,000 when it was only 3 years old, Yes, the first owner paid just over £94k back in 2009 for it, The only option I don't have is the gadget to hook your carry bags on - That is so useful to me lol All the very best m8.

@@BITTYBOY121 £94k holy shit that's a hell of a lot of money. People said I was nuts buying a £40k Focus RS lol. Over the years cars have just gotten stupid price wise. The Focus was 3 months old when I bought it, bloke lost a small fortune but I scored. I'd never buy new, just second hand so I know I'm getting a bargain, like you did paying pretty much 1/3 of the price

Those focuses are fun to drive - A mate of mine has one and its lightning fast for what it is, I think some of them have Volvo T5 engines in them? - Great cars and car park friendly unlike the CLS which is a mountain on wheels lol

I really miss that car. It´s a dream car, really fast, 514 bhp. I had exactly the same model in Brazil years ago and I have great reservations against having one again. While in the USA one shock absorber costs around US$ 800.00, in Brazil it costs US$ 4,000.00. I had one changed because it busted and I was getting poorer and poorer just to maintain that car, every oil change, etc. It is indeed extremely fast. One break disk, only one break disc, costs around US$ 3,000.00 in Brazil. It depends where the part is produced, the import tax, etc. I never had that one changed. Someone that is the actual owner of that car now is selling it for US$ 40k. It´s not difficult to buy one. The problem is to maintain it. My insurance was US$ 6k a year.

The shocks and air suspension seem to be a common fault on them, shame really for such an expensive car! In the UK they don't sell for very much this one sold for £11,000 UK which probably works out $15,000 USD

@@CraigsChannelI done a research at the time and it is a common fault indeed. I found out there is a company in the US that sells the shocks as after market and they give you a lifetime guarantee because it´s better than original.... Arnott Industries. It´s really a shame, because it´s a good car. It all depends if you can buy parts without taxation on imports. And the insurance is expensive. I had a C180 in 2012 (new) and the insurance was 1/5 of the AMG. I don´t know how these V8 engines will be in 10 or 20 years from now. It will all be electrical and autonomous. I sold and I want that back, but no.

@@alexmncdoor7130 The pump that fills the air bags went on this, Mercedes wanted £1600, but bought the part and got a friend to fit it for around £400 in total. I had an E220 Coupe' a few years ago that was a lovely car, if you flick through my videos you'll see it 2012 model in white with the Amg pack. I'm not sure if these cars will ever go up in value! Personally I don't think they will as they weren't as sort after as say the c63

Biggest issue was the suspension air compressor bur luckily managed to buy the part from Mercedes and easy enough fit. Fuel wise they are shocking but guess its expected lol. Tyres etc just depends on how you drive, these are tail happy though. I love the new shape

i like the cls 63, but the engine is riddled with everything from head gasket problems, to water pumps going out and headbolts breaking off and the cam adjusters going bad as well as the camshafts wearing prematurely. are you having any problems with yours? I was wanting an e63 or an e55

That car wasn't mine it was my friend Lee's, I always looked after it while he was away, think I looked after it for a whole 9 months, the biggest pain was fuel, I've never known a car so bad on it! As for faults, the airmatic suspension pump failed but was an easy fix. The engine was fully decoked so no carbon built up that you usually get from v8 engines. There was a sensor that was an interim fault, it came on every few weeks but just reset the light

@@danielfaatz5168 I can do basics like spark plugs, oil, oil filter and air filter. Done brakes before which was easy enough. My current cars due a service, think I've only done 1200 miles in 13 months

Yeah I believe it does, it's got air bags as well. The pump on the front failed just before it was sold, easy to replace but was around £240

The CLS has Airmatic, not ABC. The two systems differ in that ABC (Active Body Control) uses hydraulic fluid whereas Airmatic uses air filled bellows. Both have their downsides and faults but I believe Airmatic is more reliable than ABC and generally cheaper to fix.

I’m impressed for the year if the car the features it has like rear heated seats, nice spec. I also think this model looks better then the newer one, shame it doesn’t have the latest infotainment system though.

Spec wise it's crazy how much stuff it has, but back in the day it would of been a £70k car so wouldn't of been cheap, second hand I guess you can say you're getting a bit of a bargain. The back end I love on this car, just feel the headlight aren't for me but other people seem to like them

How are these gearboxes and engines to maintain? Are they reliable?

Same with all cars, regular oil change and the engine should last forever. Gearboxes automatic normally get serviced around 30-70k, I know my DSG on my Scirocco needed serviced at 40k

Tbh as standard they don't sound as good as other cars like the c63. I'd rate the noise 6/10 as standard. I've heard a few CLS63 with upgraded exhausts and holy shit do they sound amazing

Both should be reliable but you could end up with a bad one. I know a friend bought an e60 M5 and his gearbox broke, then the engine had huge issues. Maybe the Merc might be the better option? Fuel consumption on both is probably around the same, neither are good on fuel lol

@@danielsiwak4302 This CLS sold for £12k over 2 years ago, I'm not sure what the prices are like now. Where you from? Country? Do you really need such a big engine, would could buy maybe a smaller engined car with a turbo. I've gave up with big engines, they sound good but fuel is really bad

Just make sure it's got plenty service history and receipts to go with it. Test all the electrical stuff and make sure they work, you'll be there a while but worth pressing every button you can. You could also buy a cheap OBD reader to plug into the car and scan it using your phone, I paid about £14 for mine and use the app on my Android phone, its came in handy so many times telling me error codes and clearing codes. Tyres, if it's got a good brand all round and all tyres are the same that's usually a sign it's been looked after. These older Mercs were made using bad metal and easily rust, so take a good look at all the panels and under neath

I think this era of Mercedes was the one where they used the cheap metal thay was mixed with rusty metal so they rusted super bad

They're at that age now things start to brake. The air pump for the suspension went, that was quoted £2300 from Mercedes but a friend did it for £350

@@pavelmarecekmb the pump alone was £230, then it needs calibrating. I went to Mercedes and an Merc specialist who quoted £1400. If can get it all for £350 that's a bargain

@@CraigsChannel You can get a new air pump for 300 GBP on the Internet in the Czech Republic. I didn't know it needed to be calibrated. One keeps learning

@@pavelmarecekmb The price for the part, fitting and calibrating was £350 in total. I thought it was a good price. But like I say if you go to main dealer they're so so expensive. The pump seems to be a common fault, after watching it being fitted I could have done it myself, it's a basic job but they make it sound like a really big one

@@CraigsChannel from 2019 and on I really like what MB has done especially designing the dash to incorporate the command screen and they again have curved the dash and doors slightly like older models. I cannot get past the look of the dash from 2015-2019 so I won't buy one. My next will be a 2019 or newer. so far I have owned a 2006 , 2010 , 2012 and now 2013 ( it had very very low mileage )

The gearboxes are a bit old fashioned in todays DTC, DSG etc, it needs to warm up first as it's very clunky. The engine is a really good engine but like all if it's not serviced and looked after you'll find faults and things brake. The air suspension pump broke which Mercedes wanted something like £1800 to fix, managed to get it done by a friends garage for around £400

@@CraigsChannel no problem with warming it up since it gives great performance are the gearbox and engine in general ok for daily use ? i usually drive slow and calm just like having a 4 or v6 engine , rarely accelerate from 0 - 60 or 100 but i like highway roads and thinking about travelling with it to another country does it handle daily use and highways ? by the way you are just great person and you should think seriously about used cars reviews with honest openion about their performance you will be having really great reputation just like dough demuro and even much better

The only thing I would worry about as a daily drive is the fuel, they're really bad on fuel but I'm sure you could imagine that by the huge engine size 😂 the noise that comes out these things is amazing, who doesn't love a V8 engine noise. There are lots of V6 cars out there if you'd prefer something a little smaller. Comfort wise these cars are so nice, you could fall asleep driving they're some comfortable. I did do a review on my newer Mercedes E Class on my channel if you flick through my videos, it's the white one, that might be another option for you? Thanks for the nice words man 😁

@@CraigsChannel i like the big engines actually and i had a 2011 grand cherokee and it was ok but not the best what you get for your money i will check it out just because of your honesty and personality i wonder how the mercedes ml ones perfom compared to jeep the ml350 and ml55 amg and ml63 amg thank you alot for the advices and i do wish you would think about what i suggested to you earlier and i would be the first supporting person thanks again

Cherokee now that's a car you dot see very often! My friend had a 3 litre I think but hes converted it to LPG gas, for cheaper fuel. Another friend has the big Mercedes jeep ML55 sound about right as it's a 5.5 and I'm sure it's a Brabus but that's terrible on fuel as well. I'm thinking about buying a VW Golf R next, I really like them, 2 litre turbo, cheap to run/tax/insure. My latest videos just went live there 👍

Valeting but I'm dabbling into detailing, I can clean engine bays and interiors but haven't get learnt how to machine polish. Got another video to get together 435d now that is a nice car
