No the BDM-040 is different to this model. Extremerate have plenty updated videos on their page. I'm sure Sony even released a BDM-050 as well. The 030 and 040 are easier to install than the older 010 and 020 as you don't have to mess about with the ribbon cables on the sides
actually you don't have to look at any of the numbers you just point out there's a Serial number on every controller and the first number in the serial shows the controller revision you can also get the serial by scanning the qr code on the back of the controller
Yeah this is a really old video now. You also check my pressing L2 or R2 and looking inside, since this video they've released more and more versions. I've not came across a BDM-050 yet
Have you tried unplugging the battery and putting it back in? What sticker do you mean? There's not much to these controllers so not much can go wrong. Did you double check you've fitted the right version kit, as in BDM-010, 020, 030 or 040
You can use the Dualsense on PC yeah, they did an update. You can build a controller yourself, I've plenty videos showing how to install back buttons and digital triggers, much cheaper to do it yourself than a pre build 👍
@@CraigsChannel ye I’ve had a look on the website looks sick and I would but but it’s easier to just order one bro cos I first have to get a controller that is the right model number
I’ve just bought one and put it all together and the paddles aren’t working so I took it apart to check if everything’s in properly and it is, there’s power going to the paddle kit because the red light comes on but nothing works ?
The tactile ones are like mouse clicks. They've got a few new versions out now, for the BDM-030 and 040, just double check which version your controller is
Did anyone have the issue of the long black piece not fitting on the two holes. Is it bc I have a newer controller or what. And what brand paddle should I get if they don’t fit also the prongs on the side where u putting the white and black aluminum strip it’s not there on my controller
You might have a BDM-030 or 040, this videos foe the 010 and 020. If you check on Amazon extremerate have a photo showing you how to tell each version, you just hold down R2 or L2 and you'll see they're slightly different inside
How did u ship it to the uk I tried to from their website and it emailed them and they said they can't ship to the UK so how the hell did u do it ?????
I've been kind of sponsored by them for a few years, they send me stuff all the time. I know there's a newer version of the Hex that's been released, it's the one your able to adjust the stick drift
@CraigsChannel yeah I'm a backer but I'd like an ultimate as well fully customised as idk how imma get on with the phantom with the back buttons as I like some resistance when using paddles/buttons and with the phantom I already know imma be miss clicking like crazy also the instant triggers have some play before they click where I'd like just an instant click like on the ultimate
It's the least I can do for you stopping by the channel, you take time out your day so I can spare time to help you out 😎 Is making your own not an option? I've plenty videos showing how to add back buttons and the triggers
Hi,how to cooperate with you shoot video,We offer free PS5 Paddles with no installation, plug-and-play, Support 4 macro programming buttons, turbo, key swap function
Because all the electronic stuff and the paddles not being officially Sony is there any delay when using your controllers buttons and paddles because a couple of years ago I bought a controller that wasn’t official and there was button delays
You're using the main circuit from thr board, so there should be any input delay. If you look at the videos when people install them you'll see it's direct to the main bit on the middle of the board what the original ribbon from Sony fits onto
Please help would appreciate it mate My L1 and R1 are loose when I press it in I can press it in a little bit before it actually clicks for the input is there a way to fix this I want them to be solid
@@CraigsChannel just done this I feel stupid now 😂 on my L2 I have kinda the same thing it isn’t loose but I can press it down it moves down abit before clicking and inputting my R2 is clean press it it clicks solid got bdm 020 any idea how to fix that cheers for the help life saver
You'll always have a tiny tiny little movement, like tiny otherwise it wouldn't be able to press and undress the little switch. They did bring a newer kit out that's even more solid, but tbh I prefer the one with a tiny bit movement. Just give it a few days and see if you can get the hang of it 😁
I've not used the Dualshock for a long long time, it's all about the Dualsense for the PS5 now 😂 The regular back buttons on the Dualshock though were brilliant, this one in the video was a little big for my small hands
It's seems a few people who've commented over the years have owned it. Somebody said it needed lots of work and they were going to fix it, is it all good now?
@@CraigsChannel gearbox selector blew up, getting the whole thing MOTed and replaced Monday, such a fun drive, I see the CDs are still stuck in the top two selector slots
Which CDs were stuck? Is there not a manual eject button somewhere to remove them? Yeah they're a really fun drive, if you keep it for another 5 years it'll be worth good money, they're a super rare car. Did the rust on the rear drivers wheel arch get sorted? There was a tiny bit bubbling when I owned it
Ah has it got no MoT at the moment? Tax on these older cars is shocking how much they are. Dunno if you need my other video on my Fn2 Type R, that's about £415 a year, absolutely terrible crack. Hope you enjoy the 180 though, you've got a super rare and future classic
I've not fitted one to a BDM-040, but it should be the same as the 030, that's actually easier to install as you don't need to mess with the ribbons inside, extremerate have a video on their channel
@@CraigsChannel yes I’ve seen and since I only want to remap the buttons I don’t need to solder(I don’t know if that’s the correct way to say weld) for R3 L3 and the touch pad it looks easier I’ve order mine from amazon looking forward to getting it tomorrown
Do you know a website where i can buy the battery and the main board ? im not sure if you can buy it, but i raged on my controller and the battery socket broke off the main board of the controller
Can you please respond to this message would be very much appreciated. I wanted to order these too. However there are various negative reviews saying that the rubber under the mechanical buttons wear out within 3 to 5 months. So you have to open the controller back and and replace them. Do you have any idea of these issues? . Or heard about them change the system at all? As I really do want these ASAP. But I can't pay someone to replace the rubber for me every time they fail. Or can you recommend better ones for the ps5 dual sense controller Please? . Many thanks
Appreciate the kind words! You in the market to buy one or just looking? This one was my friends, only did the video as he was selling it, he bought an M4 Competition so really should make a video on that next 😁
They've came down quite a bit price wise compared to what they were, foe the money they're a really good price. Spec wise this one was only missing the lane assist I think
Hello, I don’t know if it’s too late to ask questions but . I followed this tutorial to the teeth & everything worked perfect & smooth but I couldn’t get past the ps5 menu. It would load up the game but not respond to any buttons except when I went back to ps5 menu. Then when I finally got passed that I realized all buttons work perfectly even back paddles except for L2 😢 😢any suggestions???
Never to late to ask questions 👍 Did you exit remap mode? You press the back button in the middle to enter it, set your K1, K2 etc, then hold it again to exit
@@CraigsChannelyes thats it, i had a spare screw and now know where its from, i havent screwed that back in, is it essential to do so? ive fitted the wheel and everything is fine. Not sure if its worth taking off to screw that in?
I'm really now sure! It just looks like an earth. I mean if everything is working it's totally your call if you want to refit it! I suffer OCD so I'd probably just fit it, buts that's me 😂
People will probably say disconnect both, but as you'll see I only disconnect one side, done it to loads of cars now with no issues! So totally up to you, it'll only take you an extra 15secconds or so to remove the other one. As for waiting I just remove the airbag pretty much straight away
Tbh the airbag wouldn't go off even if it did have power you'd just get a fault code. The only reason an airbag should go off is when the car knows its been on a crash 😁 there won't be any power once you disconnect anyways. Also if your cars a 4 series open the door before you disconnect the battery as thr window on them goes down when you open the door
Needed that,.... I've been using my PS5 controller with this kit for about two months and really not enjoying it, the back case is somehow bulkier than the original controller backer also the metal button put some extra weight. I do play Fortnite and after the first half hour it is really painful on the hands.
Yeah I'd install the triggers first, make sure they work and everything. Then fit the back button kit. Just make sure you're getting the right version as there's 4 now a BDM-010, 020, 030 and 040
@@CraigsChannel I’m pretty sure I have a 020 from just the triggers in the front but heard from some people Sony is reusing the triggers with a different board
If you hop on Amazon extremerate have a photo to show you how to tell, you hold down either R2 or L2 and they're all slightly different, match yours up and you know 👍
Are you holding the button on the back until the light comes on solid? Then you hold say X and K1, it should flash, then hold the button for 5 seconds until the light turns off
I would like to buy them but I have 3 questions. 1 - Is there any delay in the keys? 2 - Is there a risk of pressing them by mistake? 3 - Does the haptic feedback change?
No delay as your just using the original inputs from the main board. Yeah at first you'll press them by mistake, everybody does, but after a few days you'll be used to them. If you're only installing the back buttons the haptic won't interfere, if you add the digital triggers it will
