I really want to view this in person. It's really good to see you guys keep your tradition strong. Just like us Native Maori people of Aotearoa. Greetings from Aotearoa (New Zealand)

Peace to my natives brothers and sister for keeping tradition alive. One day the entire country will celebrate you for the national treasure that you are.
From a Maori who helps make traditional Maori ceremonial wear... Whoever makes those beautiful outfits is amazing. The rau (feathers)... LOOK AT THE RAU... HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SET THEM LIKE THAT!!! They move like wings wtf! Idols 🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️ Wow.
I loooove the Native American culture, I am Mexican Indian (Purepecha Indian) and my people are slowly disappearing I pray this video and many of my people will always keep us alive so the world can see our beauty.
I’m not native to the americas but I am part Roma which moved from northern India and Pakistan through Iran, Arabian peninsula to Europe and faced a lot of parallel forms of discrimination and genocide throughout history as American natives and First Nations. I pray our peoples and ancestors find peace and forgive for the past and look to the future that’s brighter than ever!
This is so powerful and wonderful all at once.I am so happy to see Indigenous North Americans reviving the traditions stolen and beaten out of their parents and grandparents... you should be very proud of what you are regaining in personal dignity and cultural identity. I cheer you on...much wishes to you of peace, love and happiness.
Im hispanic with bloodline that is Sub Saharan African, Spaniard and even Taino (Awarawak). Things like this make me smile for some reason. One thing I learned from the elders through videos on youtube of them "Learn to respect the earth, we are all strangers on this land" I will never forget that wisdom. Thank you Natives for your wonderful music, culture and traditions.
Of all the indigenous dances I have seen from around the world, the Native American Pow Wow is easily the most colourful and beautiful. Thank you to all Nations in keeping your traditions alive!
We are all connected so whatever is "in them" is in us all. We are one. But not everyone sees or feels the connectedness. You are basically watching reflections and other expressions of your self :) 💜💛💜💛
My brothers and sisters of North America, I am your brother from South America, Ecuador is my native home. You have an amazing culture, so do my people.
this dancer is my grandsons idol, watches this video daily, maybe 20 times a day, he just turned 4 years old today, he has some of his dance moves down. would like to get in contact with the dancer. thanks people
These same people also live in Canada just so you know. They have pow wows here. Most encourage outsiders to attend and experience who they are. Sharing culture is what they do and most elders are happy to share their knowledge and wisdom with anyone who wishes to learn in a respectful manor.
High quality dancing here! You can tell these fellas have hit the Red Road for many years! Title could be a little more specific to indicate that the "special" is a Sneak Up. You can tell by the drum beat and the story being told. Good to see traditions kept alive.
A "special" means that someone, i.e. dancer or committee, is sponsoring a particular contest. It doesn't mean which or what type of song is being sung.
So beautiful and amazing! THIS IS CULTURE! I was so fortunate to have met Joseph Firecrow... bless his soul! Sober for 13 years now thank you for your blessings!
Every time I hear voices singing at pow wow my eyes fill with thears... This is the most beautiful thing in the world... God bless Native American people and their religion and culture !
This man is one of the best. And there are many. It seems to me this type of dance is very difficult and takes alot of mental and spiritual fortitude. I love it. It does not look easy for sure.
This is one of my all time favorite dances and I hope they never remove it. May it stay forever. The main dude in the video is amazing. I am enrolled Yankton Sioux and unfortunately they have lost their ways and I have seen none of this since mom was alive (2009). I miss it.
Beautiful drumming, dancing and song! I am lucky to live in the city of Chief Sealth (aka Seattle). In this lifetime I am a white female although and I know in my heart I have been here before and of a tribal nation. I have always loved the Native American Wisdom, Culture and Art. I’ve gone to pow-wows and seen ancient petroglyphs where the Pacific Ocean greets the Washington state coastline. When I hear the drumming, it is more than that, I feel it in my heart, body and soul. I have been moved to tears on occasion when I can ‘feel the spirit’ of the music and chants and it reaches to a part of me, to a place within I cannot even describe. Thank You for sharing this amazing video.
I cannot wait till Covid is over to be back with my people around the drum. The atmosphere is simply pure and the drum is soothing to the soul. I pray my ancestors are proud that we will forever keep our ways alive.
Aue! Te ataahua hoki nga kakahu I mau ana kotou te whanau. Awesome attire beautifully made, the painted faces would evoke fear. Charismatic! Nga mihi from New Zealand.
Lee Francis you just have to go thru the entire comment section and rain on everyone’s parade because you don’t have anything better to do than to hate on people who are far better than you huh? Sad piece of garbage
I’m a Latino but since I was a kid always remember like native people tradition and their music..so real and pure culture... I wish to see more and more native people to grow in this country 🙏🏾👍💪🏾💯
@Teresa Fernandez The Spanish brought a lot of bad things to Turtle Island. They changed the names of places and the people and the language and religion instead of spirituality. But, some people are definitely waking up. They are getting involved in Aztec danza, temascal (sweat lodge), peyote ceremonies, getting their Aztec or Mayan horoscope (tonalamatl/Tzolkin). It's high time that people start finding out who they really are and where they came from and why they came to live in this planet for this lifetime. It is all knowledge that Native cultures already possessed before the arrival of the weros . .
ahhhhh! That’s powerful dance. I’m in Love! ❤️ The World needs to embrace the Natives and understand their rightful place in our World. As many other cultures. You can unite us all. ❤️
hello from CROATIA.TO NATIVE AMERICANS...WISH YOU ARE CLOSER THAT I CANT SEA YOU ON POW WOW..THANK YOU FOR YOURS VIDEOS.SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH..WISH YOU BEST
+Dalibor Krajinovic I dont know how no to cry .my heart burn for native...and i em not..but wish just one time to sea them for real...songs are great........
For those wondering, it's actually called the Dance of the Warrior. He depicts a warrior hunting for prey. However, the feathers on his bustle are eagle.
Cuando oigo el. Tambor y los. Cantos.
The spread of the eagle wings were so powerful! Such great honor to see this. I keep hearing the scream of a great eagle, Above the voices sang here. Very powerful medicine.
PartyPandaExtreme 15 natives isn't the best term for us though, the land is America and we were here first so naturally we should be called American, usa Americans should be called European Americans.
I admire very much your culture, actually the first time I saw this video I was in shock because it seems that the spirit of a bird was inside of the dancer I mean it´s amazing!!!!...the movements he does are just like the birds (sorry my english is not good enough)
I've been to a couple pow wows and sometimes they'd evplain the dances and the reason for it. The grass dancers always came out first, they usually didnt wear anything insanely ornate. They were the one who flattened the grass for the other dancers. There were also the rain dancers, whos dances were believed to bring on rain for the crops. There are a lot of other ones but I haven't bethered going to a pow wow since I was a kid.
So realistic , enjoyable and....should have more 'POW WOW'S and GATHERINGS such as these!!! Wish WVA. would consider having or sharing these 'famous GATHERINGS' of our Native countrymen.
Those r real eagle feathers He’s wearing and 1 eagle feather right now on black market rate is 30,000.00 so his regalia bustles and hand fan is worth a good 3million total or more it’s hard to find I’ve been looking for real ones hard to make my nephews bustle regalia for him to dance
Josh bear is what Native American Indian dance is ALL ABOUT. Lovin' the warpaint... That regalia he's got on is the most beautiful & symbolic I've ever seen, too! BRAVO!! 👏😊 STANDING OVATION!!
Thanks for putting up the video. Yes, Josh Bear is awesome, Him and his travelling companions. Thank you for showing us how it's done..Hope to shake your hands in the future..
i love this vid,the dancer that is first shown on this video, looks like he is in full spirit and he dances for the people, something that i wish more of our men would do for their people, dance, pray ect..I see that he carries his eagle feathers with pride and i honor him for that,I too am a traditional dancer and i love watching other traditional dancers. thank you again for sharing this video A-HO
August 20-22 is when Paul first nation powwow will happen its in between stony plain and wabamun lake but wabamun lake is only 9 minute drive whole stony plain is 20 minute drive it's a good powwow come enjoy!
Just wondering does each dancer design their own costume ( If that is the wrong word I apologize ahead of time) or how is it done? They are breath taking and look very intricate.
The only "True" Culture of this land... Europeans were cut off from their tribes and ancestors a long time ago. The do not even understand what culture is... They have never experienced it... We should be sad for them.
Awe inspiring. It is very satisfying to me to see a people proud of their traditions. I'd like it even more if I could attend one of these pow-wows outdoors though - on top of a hill in "big sky country". One day.
Like i have feeling like that we have similar music and clothing, but u guys totally rock it! Yeah so i mean Sami people, but theyre totally different still. I feel like i have to dance with them, cuz idk, its hard to explain. I kinda love their dancing and singing/music. Yea we also own similar dancing, but its different somehow still.
