Erik Victoria you have to allow room for flex. Being a body on frame vehicle, the plastic from the body is going to twist differently than the metal attached to the frame
@@c4fabrication397 yeah I watched another video for a similar product from a different company. I liked how they included a black edge trim to "fix" the gap. I suppose I could do the same on yours. I do prefer your bumper over theirs.
@@Rooster_king i bit the bullet and went for it. It was not easy that’s for sure. Cut it then put it on and take it back off cut some more then repeat. Finally I got to the point where It was close then fine tuned. I would suggest getting one of those z80 grit sanding disks for side grinder. That worked amazing after it was cut to eat away the plastic super easy instead of more cutting. That cutting melts the plastic a lot but the grinding doesn’t.
Same. Templates were absolute junk. Not sure why they don't make one that wraps across the bumper. Also, that 1" gap above the 5 bolts gave me 4" on the other end where it was supposed to be 5.25". Ended up same as you, cutting wide, fitting, trimming, fitting, trimming... Took a long time but it's clean now. What a mess. Door edge guard trim to cover the cut plastic and she's done. No clue why a lip was not made into the clearance bars to cover any ugly cutting.....?
