I use to do just 1 minute static holds on the rings -- nothing fancy. People at my gym would see it and go try when I'd take a rest, and they'd fall after 5 seconds and laugh at how much harder it was than it appeared. What this guy is doing is like 1000x harder.

I just did static holds today for first time on some rings I bought, and yes they were humbling lol. I thought since I could do dips with 100 lbs on me I could easily just hold myself up but I was shaking for a while lol. I did 10 sets for 20 seconds each. It did get a little easier after a couple sets. Than last one I just held as long as I could. Then I switched up and did 100 pushups on them. Which took me forever lol. I did slow reps of 10 trying to control the shaking. These are so badass and glad I have another challenge to take on.

A lot of people miss the point too- this isn't just about strength. Many of these movements rely on momentum, so one needs to be very precise with their movements. There’s a special trick. Called false grip. Once u understand this and do a lot of these strength moves u gradually understand that cross is easier than others cause u don’t need to tighten you core as much as others. This is why code of points indicate cross is easier than Maltese or planche. Cross it self is B while straight planche C and Maltese is D. I think all of these strength skill is going to be devalued in 2020 olympics. We’re hearing Maltese will be only worth C and straight planche a B. Well see.
