Great video Dave buddy. And thanks so much for the shout out as well. I really like the front cover and the manual is brilliant as well I think. I've just bought the Mark III version this week and the art is even better. Nice one buddy. It's a pretty cool game I reckon 🤘

I usually prefer the original sound instead of FM when I have the option, as it reminds me of my beloved game gear from youthful days long past

As for the Euro Box being in english, my guess: This happened to multiple games before Virgin Mastertronic streamlined the boxes in 1989, with the ton of languages on the back. Before that, every Distributor for every country made their own inlay with usually only 1 language. In 1988, most of those distributors ceased to exist. Master Games (France) and Mastertronic (UK) went bankrupt, while Ariolasoft (Germany) refused to continue to work with Sega, because of mistreatment. Which is one reason why these "english only" boxes exist: Due to shortages, Ariolasoft was forced to buy copies from Mastertronic and simply pushed them out without changing the inlay (they just slapped a yellow sticker on the front stating that a german manual is included). It wasn't just text heavy games, as i got quite a few such cases, for example my Sega Card version of Ghost House. That's also the case with Lord of the Sword, as alongside the original manual in the US style it includes a cheaply made (black & white, no artwork, no screenshots, just plain text) german manual.

I have this game. I was a sms kid and thought this would be akin to Zelda 2. Got to the point after the second boss where I couldn’t get further bc I guess I didn’t talk to the right villager. No desire to try again. Lord of the bored indeed!

Intirguing, I do like a good RPG. The only one I played on History's Greatest Console was Ultima IV though.

I am actually tempted to pick this up next time I see it.

I just bought this game and a master system. It didn’t come with a av cord tho. What’s the easiest way to hook it up to a modern tv?

Never got far. It is a game the looks so good to me, but I never really got into it. I find it confusing too.

Not a big fan of fm, yeah it sounds better but to me it stops sounding like a master system. Big fan of 8bitboy though, lovely chap.
