Lorentz force explanation in a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) liquid metal pump. The following setup is an MHD conduction pump which uses magnetic field of permanent magnet and DC current (up to 1000 A) to create perpendicular Lorentz force that drives the flow. Video detailly shows the cross product of current and magnetic field with vector field representation.

Great video as always! I like that the numerical models allow you to see the hidden physics behind the phenomena of your experiments. Keep them coming! :D

I really like your videos and think it's great work. While the audio recording quality improved considerably over time, pronunciation is still a problem. I think some research on diction would do wonders: speak louder (if the signal clips, back off the mic), make sure to speak with an open mouth, pronounce important words clearly (I noticed a tendency to roll over some words that are actually key), check how phonemes in your mother tongue map into English (I noticed your 'v's sound a bit like 'u's, which is a common one), etc. Sorry if it is pedantic, but I had this same difficulties. Again, great work, thanks for your effort for putting it out there!

Lielisks skaidrojums un skaisti vizuālie attēli! Es gribētu redzēt vairāk jūsu eksperimentu! Great explanation, and beautiful visuals! I'd love to see more of your experimentation!

Can you please make a video on how you did the modeling in COMSOL.

Ah, I miss the PAMIR Conference in Riga :). Let's see if the guys in Automotive, where I work now take an interest in MHD pumps :)

Great video!. Do you know if the magnitude of the angular velocity of the liquid increase if the magnetic field was stronger? Also, would it not be easier to use a magnetic coil instead of a permanent magnet?

I would love more videos explaining how shapes modify the movement of fluid. I ant to visualize it, to learn.

great to have both numerical models and the three dimensional working models symbolize. Closed captions made a big good difference. One might consider having one of those newwe on air speaking robot voice that sounding more human these days and maybe use one of those applications to transmit the spoken language. Your work is too important to honor the spoken portion of your presentation at the same level of excellence in execution. You are a hell of a scientist and maybe not so much an equivalent public speaker yet. Question: what are MHD electrolytic enhancing "seeds" and their functions? Thank you!
