@@TheAnon03he know because in this moment is mad about Monarchia, But Argel Tal himself Saw how 40 years alone with Them Truly change him. Lorgar was Truly going to give Up about the Chaos Gods was Erubus Who force him to continue
Poor Lorgar, worked so hard to achieve a gospel as mankind had never seen before. Saddest of all, he succeeded. Thousands of worlds now pray almost in unison for the God Emperor, singing choirs he, Lorgar, wrote ten thousand years ago. All those cathedrals, all those prayers, all that faith, all because of him. He worked so hard, just to never revel in his own masterpiece. Poor Lorgar, even when he wins, he loses. Lorgar isnt the the first heretic, no, hes the first true believer.
@@regolus2394 There's a fan theory that if Lorgar ever saw Emps, he'd 180 back to loyalty because he'd now be the God of humanity first worshipped; it'd be like the ultimate vindication.
There's a scene in one of the black legion books where they see the Templars and start laughing uncontrollably (Abaddon's emperor's children lieutenant laughs so hard he starts coughing blood) because the "Word Bearers won". There was a rumor for a long time that one traitor primarch would turn loyal (and one loyal would turn traitor), a lot of people felt it would be Lorgar and that would be the catalyst for the emperor's demise and rebirth; Lorgar would take the Emperor's place on the golden throne, the son atoning for the sins of the father at last.
As a dying Word Bearer said after meeting the Anchorite, the Word Bearers and the Ecclesiarchy are on the same path - except that the WB are a little bit ahead of the imperials.
Kor Phaeron: _You greatest weakness, Lorgar, is that you trust others too much._ Same Kor Phaeron 2 minutes later: _Worshipping Emperor was a mistake, trust me!_ Well, at least give him credit - he did warn Lorgar. The warning fell on deaf ears.
He is a great and very relatable somehow, despite all of it, it is almost game of Thrones. Word Bearers are just so much more interesting than most legions.
If ONLY Lorgar had an actual father and instead of Kor. If only the Emperor or Malcador was sympathetic and transparent with Lorgar. He might not be a tactician or fighter, but he had a much better understanding of humanity and the human spirit than most Primarchs.
He was never meant to be a fighter or a tactician. He's meant to lead and ease the people's hearts. But yet again, Emps isn't as competent as he likes to think.
"lorgar, you could never commit acts of violence and destruction whilst wearing a smile" Lorgar 50 years later during the betrayal at calth: this must not be cruel and destructive then, because i am smiling like never before!
How did the Emperor not see through Kor Phaeron ?? Erebus i can see i dont think Erebus ever personally met the Emperor. But the Emperor did meet Kor Phaeron and should have seen through him.
Oh man... the highlight of the book brought to life. The quality of this is like GW is really behind this (of course its not though...) The whole discussion is delivered fantasticly and choice of musical "ups and downs" are adding up to this immensly. The people behind the voices really deserve great credit. They must be really big talents. Well done friend you delivered a masterpiece. 10/10
The fact that Lorgar likely suffered from BPD, and 2 of his favorite people are poisoning his mind and making him from a pios and righteous leader to a devious and wretched vagabond... its honestly painful.
All the while, the chaos spawn at the organ be like, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeess...
if only Lorgar haven't listen to those ... snakes, maybe 40k would have been a galactic heaven, maybe if he just mauled them to death with his mace at this moment, maybe ...
"Of all the Emperor's sons, you are the one that most resembles your father in face and form." Me: *dies from laughter* "But you could never commit acts of cruelty and destruction while wearing a smile." Me: *Gets my soul in the Warp destroyed from laughing even harder*
Im new to the lore ( 3/4 months of daily reading and watching content) and this was very well done imo. Lorgar is such a tragic character from the little I’ve read thus far. Have a sub my Brother and keep up the good work. I’ll be watching out for you in my feed 😁
@@Withwhatmyfuckingtoes So many interesting factions, but I keep gravitating to the primarchs and their legions stories. My favorite are the loyal space marines in the heretic legions.
@@joncarson3060 you and me are two of a kind my friend. It was the story of Angron that initially peaked my interest in the lore. Though savage and brutal his life was such a tragedy and he had so much honour before the butchers nails slowly drove him insane. I highly recommend a video on yt called “ANGRON, eater of worlds”. It’s Angrons story with fantastic voice acting and nearly 2 hours long. Great content and I’ve been hooked on Primarch related lore ever since
Lorgar could be the most likeable primach out of all, maybe even close to Vulkan but big E was so dedicated to his goals he broke his son and left him alone. I know he had warn him some time but it is Lorgar and designed this way whether you like it or not. If I was big E I'd be %100 honest with him, tell him everything I've seen and heard in history of theology for all these millenia and address him to seek answers for his questions only from me. Its because Lorgar comes from a highly religious cultist planet and it is normal of him to get carried away because of the culture he grew into. In this kind of scenario you should pull that person away from that bad environment then izolate and rehabilitate him. It is an standard protocol. it is strange that big E never applied the same on Lorgar.
1: this is amazing voice acting. I was turned onto this by a podcast by “Primarch Bros”, etc. I’m glad I found it! 2: k, if the Lion is the Emperor’s ‘analytical’ side, then what the hell does Purtoraubo have then lol? His bitterness and wants that must be sacrificed… oh….
If Jesus Christ came in glory and told you that all of your years of worshipping him were wrong and wasteful, would you then turn against him? Or give your worship instead to Satan? Its hard to know how much one's psyche would break under such a revelation, but that is exactly what Lorgar contends with. Ultimate humility. At the same time, I cannot condone his choices. The Imperial Truth was no secret to Lorgar, he simply chose to believe that he was above it. He set the galaxy ablaze because of his need for the divine, rather than finding meaning in the uplifting and unification of mankind. His trauma does not absolve him of his monstrous choices.
Personally I would probably either convert to Islam or find a new religious lineage entirely if Jesus came and told me my worship of him was wrong. Maybe Sikhism. Problem is that the emperor and larger between them had eradicated pretty much all religions except the imperial cult and the chaos cults.
@@seekingabsolution1907 I've yet to understand why faith is necessary. Is it not enough to simply strive for a better world? Is that not sufficiently meaningful?
Faith is necessary because it is something that every man requires to function. If it's not faith in a religion, then it's in something more abstract like humanity, or science, or progress. Without God scientists become high priests, dictators become deified, procedure becomes dogma. The Imperial Truth is a falsehood that claims there is nothing in the universe that is unexplainable, when the Emperor clearly knows a lot about Chaos, he should know that faith and devotion in a higher purpose is what protects the soul from corruption, leaving an emptiness in humanity's need for belief only allows Chaos to seep in and fill the cracks.
@@tau-5794 Well put. My counterargument would be that faith in humanity was implicitly part of the Emperor's endeavor. One could find a sense of purpose in working to uplift their fellow man from the strife of Old Night. I don't know that the Imperial Truth was entirely false either. The assertion that nothing in the universe is unexplainable, while unverifiable, does ring true in some sense. Even Chaos harkens to the beat of unseen principles. Nothing happens for no reason, we simply may not yet understand the reason.
Just reach out to Baldermort. Perhaps he can find you a roll. Doing quotes is fun. But it’s substanceless. Voice acting is good. But creativity is more important dude. Not being nasty. Being honest to get you more hits. Work with him or warrior tier.
edgsky has subpar writing; as if the qualities of patience, cruelty, etc can be discretized apart so neatly as to allow for a list of inherited traits by sons, do a reading of someone that knows how to write instead like Anthony Reynold, he's the only one who knew how to write Lorgar. His Dark Creed novel gets no attention.
