Original WOR Broadcast with Ralph Kiner, Tim McCarver and Steve Zabriskie recorded and Digitalized off original pre recorded VHS tape later transferred to DVD with a DVD burner now digitalized and restored the complete game version making its debut on my RU-vid page while only seeing bits and pieces and highlights from this game on RU-vid before.
Ron Darling pitches his first complete game of the 1986 season against Los Angeles with Bob Welch going for the Dodgers.
a close ballgame until all hell breaks loose in the Mets bottom half of the sixth after George Foster line drive Homerun to left off Dodgers reliever Tom Niedenfuer as Foster comes out for a curtain call Niedenfuer loses it and next pitch is at Ray Knights ribs and Knight Charges the mound and a brawl ensues. Just a sign of what turns out to be a championship season for the Mets for 1986 early in the season the fire seemed to be set this night at Shea Stadium

@@Paultheguitarist Wimps? 1980’s baseball was better than the baseball they play today. The players today are wimps and cry babies. They need pitch clocks to tell them to get in the batters box and to throw the ball. Had to make the bases bigger for the winers.

The good old days of Baseball when national league baseball was still baseball. No DH, no phony intentional walk, no extra inning runner at 2nd to start the inning crap, no over reaction by umpires with ejections. I was 27 at this time and was into card collecting and card shows, great time.

I was at this game, one of four I attended in 1986 as an 18 year old. Mezzanine behind home plate, great memories. Watching the brawl, the behind the plate replay of Knight charging the mound was almost exactly from my perspective, wild.

After Hernandez hits a HR. Go to the 1:52:17 mark and watch after Hernandez rounds the bases and sits down on the bench, he lights up a cigarette. 😂 Only back in those days would you see something like that. Gotta love the baseball of my youth in the 1970’s and 1980’s. God I miss those days sometimes.

At around 1:50:05 Keith Hernandez takes called strike one, McCarver calls it a strike. The next pitch is a ball and TMac calls it now 2-0. On 2-1 Hernandez homers and McCarver goes on for two minutes about how the Mets are rubbing it in their face swinging on 3-0. Priceless.

Love all these games. Keep them coming. Do you have any of the early-season sweep of the Cardinals? Think I saw one of the games on here but I'd love to see that opening game where HoJo took Worrell deep for a game-tying homer in the ninth. Pretty much set the tone for the rest of the season.
@alexanderestrada2499
@alexanderestrada2499 Год назад
Tommy Lasorda was wrong. Knight didn't start it, Niedenfeur did. If they had to eject Knight for charging the mound, they'd have to eject Niedenfuer for throwing at him in the first place. Just because he's upset about giving up a grand slam, doesn't give him the right to throw at someone.

That occurred later in the same season. The Mets were involved in 4 big brawls in the ‘86 season. 1) this fight against the Dodgers 2) early June brawl in Pittsburgh 3) Early July brawl against Atlanta 4) the biggest of them all…..mid July against the Reds (the Knight punch on Davis)

THE METS GOT RID OF GEORGE FOSTER IN 1986 BECAUSE DURING A BRAWL BETWEEN THE METS AND THE DODGERS HE DIDN'T GET INVOLVED IN THE BRAWL , INSTEAD HE STAYED SITTED IN THE DUGOUT. THAT'S A NO NO IN MLB EVEN IN TODAY'S MLB BASEBALL.
