I am a Medical Technologist who works in the Clinical Laboratory, and I am just SO frustrated at how complicated everything has become!!! The "EMR" has become a freaking nightmare and is out of control and downright dangerous. How can anyone manage a system that contains every single piece of data about every mundane and critical event??? Ugggh...... Just like this video, I will never let them steal my soul.... keep on keeping on!

That is really great to hear. I hope people keep that in mind when they have to wait an hour for their nurse. I had a patient actively dying, and I was in the room holding the hands of the family and being there for them and my patient's last breath. I knew I had a pt who was waiting on his pain meds from me and another waiting for me to change his wound dressing. I had to prioritize. An assistant popped her head in and told me these pt's were asking for me. My pt in front of me was breathing at a rate of 1 breath a minute. It would be any moment before she passed. Priority 1: I'm not saying to the family who ASKED me to be there with them when she passed. I could only stay so long, but wasn't about to say to that family, "sorry, gotta bounce, someone else matters more to me right now. I left the room a few moments after she passed. Priority 2) pain meds pt. Gave him his pain meds, and was on my way to Priority 3: wound dressing guy. His dressing doesn't have to be done on a medical level at exactly the time due. He had to be my 3rd priority. On my way to get the supplies, I see my fall risk pt trying to get to the toilet by herself. She definitely would have fallen. I caught her, took her to the toilet and stayed bc i knew she would try to get back to her bed by herself, being wayyyy too weak to do so. So my wound care guy had to be last. I felt bad about that. That quickly changed. I entered his room starting to apologize for the wait (WE NEED MORE STAFF!!!!) but he cut me off and said, "yeah, I heard a patient was dying. How is that MY problem?" I calmy said, "Did you have to wait an hour for me? Then it is your problem isn't it?" Write and call your legislators for safe stuffing 🤬 What a fucking dick. Having to have wiped my tears away and continue on with each person I helped as if nothing so sad had just happened. So forgive us sometimes when we can't be our cheeriest or "quick" enough. Meanwhile a doctor has been trying to return my page on another pt and I missed it. Other callights are going off, some definitely more important (more in need of medical attention at that moment) than wound care guy, but I had to make them wait. #unbreakhealthcare EVERY patient is important. Give us more staff! Oh, and then I'm staying 2 hours past my shift entering orders, charting on everyone and entering my assessment info on a new admit. Being threatened by administration that we HAVE to clock out on time. Many things would get looked over when someone left on time with work they know the next shift won't be able to get done, so it's all back on me tbe next day.

Videos targeted to and from the nurses’ and doctor’s perspective are laughably tired and campy. I don’t agree with the perspective, it’s very self-centered and egotistic, but it doesn’t mean I disagree with the ultimate goal.
@@causarumcognitio What perspective do you disagree with? Zdogg is conservative, as much as he tries to stay away from politics in that regards. The perspective I have is the system is crumbling and greed is killing people. I refuse to return to bedside nursing. Providing quality care to EVERY patient is impossible, and I can't live with myself walking past rooms of patients literally calling out to me for help but having to literally ignore them if I want to get to my next patient.

Wow...just amazing! I'm not doing med school, but I am about to graduate nursing school and this speaks to me SO much! The way that my program was (is) layed out stresses ALL the time the exact message you are singing here! It can be frustrating sometimes going to clinical and trying to apply what we are learning to better patient care, but sadly a good chunk of the nurses will tell you "not to worry about it" or "let it go; it's "whatever" type thing... But it should NOT be "whatever", and I DON'T want to "let it go", and I DO "worry about it"! This is a great reminder to keep what the nursing program has taught me, because soon I will be a practicing nurse and then I CAN put it in the play! Fantastic!!

Keep doing what we do, nurses, docs, without letting the system break us down when in reality we really love caring for our patients, but lose site of that in this shitty healthcare system.
A lot of problems in healthcare could be fixed if Medicare and other insurers significantly increased (say, by 100%) reimbursements for doctors so they can see fewer patients in a day and spend more time with each patient.
I'm not in the medical field, more of the nursing/caring profession as a Special Needs Carer. But fuck yes. This song even fits in germany, and we have a pretty functional healthcare if you look at the US. But A client wetting himself because the Cathether always clots? Health care ain't going to pay for Dipars or stuff. NO. He has a cathether! So this 75 year old man, who served this country for most of his life as a soldier, wets himself, every night. Can't afford shit, has no family left to buy him that shit so yeah. Or this women that was actually to smart for our house, but to unintelligent for anything else. Health care wouldn't fund a different house. Don't put her into therapy. She always was violent. She can't be violent if she's put on Tavor. I've been a nurse for a while more years than I want to count. I saw this and I want to ask what is healthcare 3.0? Is it patient based? Because my performance has been judged by HHCAPS for the last few years despite the fact of all the post cards from patients. The truth is the only ones that fill out surveys are the ones with a beef or the ones that know how the surveys affect nurses and doctors. The rest of the patients don't fill it out because they have had an average stay in the hospital. I am looking for a new career, not because of patient care but because of administrative lack of care about the patients. Patients should come first, but now I treat computers first and make certain I have covered the "meaningful use" items instead of being at the beside giving patient care. (those that give a f*** should look up how "meaningful use" drives government reimbursement for electronic medical records).
