Hey man love the channel, question...is that fid 2 spd trans reliable and Ona the better ones on the market or only one u tried? I want it to work just as good as the nitro 2spds. Also did that ddm silencer significantly cut the sound level down and did it kill the power much? Thx for ur help!
Appreciate it bro! This is the only two speed I have experience with…..I ended up switching it out…It worked fine though…..The silencer made it a lot quieter…..idk about the power….I’ve ran it since I put the motor in…I haven’t run it in at least 3-4 years with the FID 2 speed though….that rc is actually electric converted now lol 😂
The 2 speed shifts with by rpms. Centrifugal force on clutch pads grab the bigger gear at a certain rpm. Yes it's adjustable. Should see set screws that u can turn 1/4 at a time to set second gear.
Yeah I think I have a few videos I filmed with the 2 speed….feel free to check out the 1/5th scale playlist….they’d be some of the oldest videos on there
Hey dude i was mostly curious about the 2-speed. I don’t think I’ve seen those yet. How does it perform? Do you see more speed? Tell me more? And how did you install it? Where can i get it?
If I remember correctly I bought it on eBay. It did perform well for quite a while but just recently something internally broke so I’ve taken it out and changed it back to a single speed. I haven’t gotten around to tearing it down to see what has broken nor do I know if they even sell replacement pieces for it. I think it cost me about $300 back when I bought it. It definitely has more top end and the shifts were very seamless. I think the pinion is an 18t for the 1st gear and then a 25t for the 2nd gear. I hope that helps you out a bit. The company I think is called FID Racing.
F Ward yeah it comes with an entirely new 2 speed assembly. I’m not sure if it’s actually a new differential? I think it might just be a one way bearing in there.
laurent gouriou The problem with mine isn’t a problem once it’s running. It is trying to get it started. The powls on the pull start aren’t coming fully in contact with the flywheel. I’ve changed out the flywheel and put 4 different pulls starts on it. I’ve used washers to try to change the spacing between the pull start and the flywheel. But none of those things have worked. It ends up seizing the pull start. I had a Turtle Racing Aluminum pull start on it with dog cage and it destroyed the spring in that and the other three pull starts I had put on it. When you pull the pull start it doesn’t let you pull the cable out smoothly. I’m still pretty certain that it is the engine that is the problem. Something must be out of spec with it I’m not sure what though
RC Knockout the coil gap not too tight? Otherwise time to strip head off to check what's going on. Have you contacted obr. They got good customer support👌👌👌
laurent gouriou I have contacted them. O’Neill Brothers asked me to ship it back. I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. The only thing I can tell is that there is a significant amount of binding going on while starting the engine.
@@RCKnockout ok thank you. I bought a 2 speed put it in and ya just problems offer problems with it. Havnt even got it hit sec gear yet. Like Im getting more speed with my stock gear lol 🤣
Um ok... just kidding. I got the same pipe without the muffler, and its real loud, about 90db with a sound meter app tested. For the two speed, it should be in the 2nd speed gear (the larger one), should have a adjustment screw.
The 2speed transmission by FID cannot be adjusted by screw. Theres another ebayer who has a 2 speed kit for losi 5 T which can be adjusted with a screw
