Hey guys, a new video today.

Razor: Tatara Muramasa
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: Declaration B11 'Blood of Kings'
Soap: Lothur Grooming 'Dave'
Soap Ingredients:
Potassium Stearate, Potassium Tallowate, Glycerin, Potassium Kokumate, Potassium Castorate, Aqua, Sorbitol, Parfum, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Lactate, Xanthan Gum, Hexyl cinnamal, Linalol, Alpha-isomethylionone
Scent:
DAVE opens with light, citrusy, and fruity top notes, reminiscent of Darjeeling tea. It has a soft jasmine accord at its heart and is perfectly rooted with notes of Assam and powdery iris root.

Nice shave Jack all the reviews on these 3 soaps I have seen have been great, I look forward to trying them all. I can relate to getting excited abut products, I am a daily shaver and every day I get excited to do my ritual of picking the soap, brush, razor and blade and it never gets old because I am passionate about our hobby. Howdy Jack- I’m looking forward to Lothur’s unscented base offering as I can’t use scented soaps. I hear that Pasteur’s is carrying their products. That dimethicone was an eye opening read. Thanks for sharing that. That’s one sweet brush.

Great video Jack. “That’s a good hair” as my friends would say (good hair cut lol). I find this scent spritely, soft, incredibly relaxing, refreshing, and the perfect balance of floral and tea. I will certainly buy the splash. Although I’m not stoked on an alcohol splash. However, if it will be a better medium to celebrate these scents I’m in.

Hi Jack, I’ve just got the Muramasa, and it’s fantastic. The service and speed from Tatara was exceptional. This as purchased on the strength of your review. Also on Lothur, there postage to Australia is currently prohibitive but he says he’s working on it which is good news.

Do you catch Darjeeling tea or muscat like scent from this soap? Or Bulgari Pour Homms Soir fragrance like? I like tea scent soap but Noble Otter Thé Noir et Vanille was not my cup of tea.

The whole 'tea scent' is interesting to me. In Canada we are more a coffee drinking culture. Is the UK still more tea given the history there or do people also not drink loads of coffee too?

I purchased the three pack. Tears is a favorite. The scents are remarkable, really well done. The base/performance lacks some slickness for me and sits among some other good but not great soap cookers.

I know that Noble Otter's Vanille is a tea forward scent, how would you compare the two? I picked NO based on one of your videos and I absolutely love the scent and soap.

My goodness. This subject of disclosure and transparency is a bit mind numbing to say the least. It's ridiculous that reviewers are made to feel obligated to do this...Regardless of the hobby/product. Anyway, top shave Jack and whoever your new barber is...keep'em. Looking sharp. 👌
