Hi! Grandma here to a good old amel corn snake. I believe one of the parents was a creamsicle. I don’t know much about her. My daughter has had her for several weeks so far. She’s had just one shed with us. Last night she ate upside-down. 😂Cob is a terrific first snake for my daughter. She paid for everything herself at age 15, and I’m so proud at how seriously she cares for her. She was only $30 at a show, but was definitely no impulse buy. She was well-planned for. I shiver to think of people buying any animal on impulse. Thanks for being such a high-grade breeder. My daughter wants to buy from you, I think, when she’s grown and on her own. The plan is to become a vet tech. I wouldn’t doubt that she finds a way to get in there for the reptiles, and not just the dogs and cats. ❤️
I loved hearing that knowing the snakes you produce and sell wind up in good homes lets you sleep at night. Too many people out to make a quick buck by breeding all kinds of animals leads to too many animals in shelters, abandoned, or dead. Thank you for caring about their futures, Joe!
I got my male MBK right before they became really popular too. First snake to get me back into keeping. It's amazing what goes up in cost so much (and then decreases). Great pet snake to get into. I absolutely love Olive Pythons! Saw these in a video of a youtuber herping in Australia and thought they were amazing. The one they found was quite a bit bigger. Neat video!
Nice video as per usual buddy, thanks and greetings from England. I also watched my corn-snake shedding last week, amazing. Please can I ask your advise?. I have a 3 year old male sun-kissed corn-snake whom I've had for about a year now. He's in a 4x2x2 ft vivarium and the temperature is kept at around 80 degrees. He eats jumbo thawed mice once per week. He has never refused food until now, he strikes hard and devours his mice with relish. But the last 2 meals he has shown no interest and I am a tad frustrated. Is this normal and am I worried needlessly ?. He's very healthy and active. One thing I have noticed is he wants to come out of his viv. more often. This is my first reptile. Any advice will be very welcome. Keep the videos coming bud.
I'm mainly a colubrids person (future corns breeder, too ^_^ ) with a side-love for some pythons but I agree that gtp are about the most beautiful snakes there are. There is just something so fascinating about them! Hope to have one as well one day.
Madudesa haha. I have a Desert Ross. I also have a 14 yr old corn (that I recently filmed shedding! What a treat, right?). Really cool to see all your pets. Love that olive python and jungle carpet.
Dude, love your mellow style, love the corns too, nice job on the video. I used to breed snakes for a living long ago and got out of it when the balls started getting big because it was getting harder to sell Elaphe (yeah this was awhile ago). The irony is what the ball python craze has done to ramp up the price of colubrids. I just picked up a het scaleless cornsnake project I'm super excited about as I love multi hets.
It's a bummer that we have to be so careful with less desirable morphs. :( I've been looking at getting an amel stripe or tessera. :) I also have a butter motley corn snake whose name is Cassian. He was hatched July 2017, but he has only just hit 20grams. The breeder he ORIGINALLY came from (not who I got him from) gave a feeding card, and it looks like until he went to the local shop I got him from, he was only fed 1 pinkie every 14 days. D: He's even smaller than your amel girl. But since he's been with me, he's a fantastic eater and he's growing so much!! I hope we get as many years as you & Tony!!
I love the Great Plains Ratsnake. Unfortunately we can’t get them here in Australia but hopefully one day I’ll get to the US and see one in the flesh. I’m a big Liasis fan, an underrated genus for sure and that’s a really nice Water Python you have Joe, I don’t see the really dark ones much here in captivity.
Nice collection you've got there but you forgot the Amazon Tree Boa. I've got 13 Boa Constrictors and hope to be successful at breeding them someday but I do consider them pets first. I try to handle and interact with them all at least a couple times a week. Keep putting out great content.
Hey bud its Kyle from kg.reptiles on Instagram love the vid it shows a wide range of snakes, some I didn't really know about so thanks for sharing these guys with us
Great collection of animals! I might be getting a jungle carpet python soon as well as a Kingsnake. But the gentlemen who has them doesn’t recall the type of kingsnake so it will be a mystery until I see him/her and identify.
Oh he isn’t a breeder. Just a guy that has two snakes and loves reptiles but is looking to rehome. I met him at Home Depot when shopping for a rack to house my terrariums. For me this will be me taking in two snakes that need more love and attention and less adding something cool to my collection.
so i really have been trying to do research on water pythons because i’ve been looking for one but i can’t find any good care videos and tips, do you have any advice for me. (temperament, care, etc.)
There isn't much to go off. My best advice would be to work off of care sheets that you may see for carpet pythons. I don't feel comfortable giving husbandry advice because I only have one and that's not a good enough sample size to come to a conclusion. I can speak to temperament. Imports are typically very defensive and food aggressive. Mine is a CBB Australian water python and they tend to have better temperaments. Despite her great temperament, she still is very food aggressive. Probably not the best for beginners but great for someone who understands snake behavior and could make for a great learning experience with proper handling!
Hiya xx is it normal for corn snakes keep going fast around her tank and flipping her tail around? I was just wondering cause this never happened before
Depends on species or subspecies. They all have a pretty strong feed response. If handleability is your first concern, they may not be the best for you. But overall they are pretty handleable
Sometimes the feisty ones can be tamed down too. It just takes a lot of bravery and work. I take my girl out about twice a week and I think good to let her explore my room (with all holes and dangerous items blocked of course! And my bed is a loft bed she can’t hide under). She feels rewarded by being able to explore the room and will be nicer to me to get the reward. It takes a lot of work. And lots of hiding places and vines to help her feel secure in her tank
how old is consider too old to breed for a female cornsnake? i wanna try breeding my female for the first time but she is 6 so by the time i raise a male shed be 9 unless i get an older male. Also can you do a video explaining all the different kind of corn snake morphs?
Dude you need to send me that damn jungle if you aint gunna breed him. Whats his story again? dude is striped?! Whats wrong with you?! Get him a girl or send him my way haha
oh what in the actual F haha. Get his lineage from Nick if you can. We should work something out. He could fit nicely into my striped Jungle Project and add new blood there. Let's chat!
What also sucks about more expensive animals are people who have lives and real bills so they can’t afford to drop hundreds of dollars on a snake. The pet industry is getting ridiculous with cost so now my kids either have to miss out on pets or we have to get a “cheap” one from someone sketchy. That’s all expensive snakes are accomplishing. Ruining it for people without stupid amounts of money so thanks
