Such a great, unique show. Part comedy, part acid trip, part nightmare, part heartfelt drama, and part cold reality. This is the sort of show some channel should run rerun blocks from 11 pm to 1 am every night like they do with Roseanne and The Office and garbage like Big Bang Theory. Unfortunately that won't happen but at least Louis still makes it available.
Whats the depressed skit episode again? Its like he wakes up and everything is grey and shitty, and everyone is shitty too. He is showing what his depression looks like. It was a a great skit
@@WeirdSmellyMan I know, right? Not only did the guy have that thought, he said to himself: yeah, that’s witty and brilliant. Imma right that shit down where it’ll live on the internet forever, haha.
you know one of my absolute favorite things about this show was how louie never tried to portray himself as a cool guy. he's often the most awkward least informed person in the scene lol, and he plays those moments perfectly!
@@TheKitchenerLeslie Nah, what u talkin' 'bout, Willis? As the late, great Norm Macdonald said, nobody likes a guy who's smarter than them. Also, Louis doesn't have a massive ego. His goal was to make a funny show, and he achieved that.
@@liamhenderson3753 Having listened to Louis for hundreds of hours on O&A, interviews and podcasts, he most definitely has a huge ego. He's just so funny who really cares.
This is probably one of those shows that will always feel like it's way ahead of its time which felt like a mixture of all kinds of emotions packed together. It makes you laugh out of loud and then instantly make you sad and think about life in general and the choices we make and why we make them. Will forever be grateful to Louis CK who hasn't just brought the most laughs out of me but also for being a philosopher who got me through the toughest of times. "Misery is wasted on the miserable" I'll always remember this quote.
i remember i binged the show somewhere about 4-5 years ago and it was a very surreal experience, at first the show seems just like an another lame 'funny show!!!' composed of sketches, but it evolves into something much more profound than you could expect, while getting more and more funny. also the random bits like switching the homeless man are just out of this world. truly a masterpiece.
I remember that scene 😂 also when Louie went to a DVD store and some employee fucks with him, he checked the cctv just to see on the video with the weird looking himself it represents perfectly how I hated to see myself in a live demo of cctv 😂
to this day i don't know why but the timing, the intonation, the whole tiny scene with the therapist saying..."Do you think it's because you're fat" makes me bust out laughing no matter what. I can't explain it fully. A lot of Louie the show was like that, it has moments I randomly think of and start laughing. Like the episode where his kid's doll arrives with its eyes messed up and he goes berserk trying to repair it
@@kastr366 that’s a shame me and my brother bond over this show all the time , Louie ck in general shaped our sense of humor into the way it is today . He is the modern day George Carlin
This is one of the greatest shows I’ve ever come across. I watched it at least 6 times now. About to watch it again, you always walk away with a different experience. This show introduced me to Doug Stanhope
Love the show. Louie really left his mark with that show. It represents the unseen man with all of the tragic and hilarious slice of life stories, mixed with the absurdities of life in NYC. He gave his friends and fellow comics roles, and even threw Anthony Cumia a bone to play the morning disc jockey @ 15:02. I adore Pamela Adlon too and Louie and his television projects were the first time I remember seeing her onscreen in Lucky Louie. He was also the Executive Producer for Better Things, so you know he doesn't forget his friends and helps them out however he can. Louis CK is the George Carlin of his generation, and I am so glad to have seen his vast body of work including this incredibly funny and surprisingly poignant TV series. Thanks, Larone! Cheers!!
Louis, who preyed on almost every woman he came into contact with, gave a job to woman-beater and noted racist Anthony Cumia and you’re like “Yeah! Awesome!” 😂😂😂
@@DABA2024 Hey, thanks for weighing in. Don't know why, or who you are white knighting for, but rest assured, we get the message!! You must be better than those of us that enjoy Louis CK. I feel sufficiently chastised, and now you may move on to whatever the next step is in getting your angel wings...
The military/USO saga in this show is one of my all-time favorite television moments. Funny, heartfelt, totally real…you forget that you’re watching a “show” for basically the whole thing.
This show was superb. I became such a fan, I went to see him live. He only charged $20. Louis was so emotionally authentic. I’m so sorry about his downfall and I really hope he’s ok. Wow, he should make a comeback.
Hes been releasing specials and touring the entire time. Also directed and released a movie. I even saw him live in Vancouver in 2021. He's been working plenty, just sign up to his website newsletter and he'll keep you up to date with everything.
one of the best shows out there, but probably not for everyone. loved how unpredictable that show was. It could be hilarious banter and surreal little trips ... or a Lynchian nightmare and a drama about a depressed comedian
Watching this without Context somehow makes me feel like it's more funny than watching the show. It's like a fever dream mixed with depression and hilarious bits.
I loved it when he talked about all the complaining we all do whenever we have to board a plane and fly somewhere. He said that we've lost our appreciation for the miracle of flight. Like he said that he can't understand why we get so pissed that the stewardess won't give us another bag of peanuts. He's all like, "Jesus Christ man. Look at where you are!!! You're sitting in a chair and that chair is in the air. Way up in the air. Isn't that incredible? But all you can think about are peanuts. YOU ARE SITTING IN A CHAIR IN THE AIR!!!" Ha!! LOL!!! I dunno man. He's just a trip is all.
This is probably the best comedy-philosophy series ever produced. It capture very accurate of every feels and details, small things like when Louie walked into a DVD store when he checked a cctv with awkward look of himself in the video recording. Or that awkward moment when he was about to ask Liz to out with him. Everything captured perfectly. I wish it stays for a few more seasons. The 5th one kinda rushed.
@@liamhenderson3753 probably a series called Better Things? I haven't seen it but I read the synopsis it's a divorced actress living with her two daughters. It sounded similar to Louie. Louis also wrote it before he got fired due to the scandal
I had ZERO recollection of this show despite being a huge Louis CK fan until I heard the intro music. Then instantly it all came back! Strange how that works.
Never watched this show besides the bang bang scene. But now Im going to! Never knew so many celebrities went on board being on this show too. Seing Joan Rivers and Saget made me a little sad tho 😢
I love how the writing is as awkward and straightforward as it could possibly be. Nothing is ever explained...everything is just presented as is and the explanations always fall short and get more confusing each time a new explanation is attempted. Its as though louis is being punished for wanting a rational explanation for anything or everything, but he always does the right thing in the end
