One of the many things I loved about Armstrong is that he really didn't care about ethnicity. He hired the people he wanted to play with. The Philipino drummer (Danny Barcelona does a break, and we cut out) Jack Teagarden. In a time of racial turmoil, He really didn't care.
Bert stern, who is a still magazine photographer, came with a camera crew to film one day of the Newport Jazz festival in 1958..He also shot footage of the Americas cup trials that years off of Rhode Island and incorporated it in the completed documentary "jazz on s Summer's day" which came out in 1960.
