I am a nurse that uses lotions all day. I have been collected Louis Vuitton for years so I am aware of the vachetta issue. I have always purchased monogram with the vachetta (I still love this leather regardless). so I looked for a solution to my problem. APPLE GUARD works awesome! It is a spray protectant that truly does protect against rain, water spots, and dirty hands. The leather still patina (which is good), but I haven't had a stain since I treated it! I used eucerin cream (kind of like crisco), and not 1 grease or stain mark. As all LV owners know, we dread that first stain/water mark. It is super safe and awesome! Less than $10 on eBay. Try it, you'll love!

Isn't the purse organizer a game changer? I didn't think much of it but hated how small the opening of the 25b was. I got the organizer and now it is a non-issue. Great video!

This is a perfect first video! You don’t seem nervous at all. I’ve followed you for a couple years and this older video just popped up as a suggestion today at the same time as I’m deciding between these two handbags. I have the Pochette Metis and after watching this I think I will definitely go with the damier ebene, which I have been leaning toward.

Great review. I appreciate your comment about the strap digging on the damier ebene. I am on the fence about these bags and that is an important factor. Also, I have the Samorga for my Speedy 30 and I ended up cutting out one of the water bottle pockets to create more room inside.

I originally wanted the monogram but i watched other videos about the untreated leather and how the color of the strap and handles will change colors. I didn't like that so I went with the Damier Ebene and I think its a beautiful print for this bag.

Lux Purse Love, Hi! I really liked your video as I’m planning to buy Speedy B 30 in Damier Ebene print. I need your help as you seem to know great deal about Speedy bag in both the prints! I’ve been researching on youtube and purse forum. I’ve already got classic Speedy 25 in Monogram canvas. But I used my speedy on special occasions due to its vachetta strap. I love Damiere Ebene print as in my opinion, Damier Ebene print makes handbags look elegant and sophisticated compared to Monogram canvas which gives a more of casual look. Besides Monogram Canvas handbags have vachetta leather which is extremely delicate and needs lot of care which I’m unable to provide. Also Damier Ebene is very carefree and low maintainence i.e. looks like new for longer time. Also being dark colour, its ideal for travel. But as I’ve heard from you in this video as well as many other youtubers and purse forum members saying that the treated leather strap of Speedy bandouliere 30 in Damiere Ebene digs into one’s shoulders compare to more natural vachetta leather in monogram print. Its due to these review of straps digging into one’s shoulder, I’ve been resisting buying Damier Ebene since past five years. As frequent adviced by many other youtubers and purse forum members about stiffness of Damier Ebene’s treated leather timmings i.e. shoulder straps (Neverfull); and hand held handles & crossbody strap (Speedy Bandouilere 30). But at the sametime some youtubers and purse forum members are raving about comfort and carefree nature of shoulder straps (Neverfull); and hand held handles & crossbody strap (Speedy Bandouilere 30). I wanted a Speedy B 30 for travel and during travel in aeroplanes, cars and buses often water, sodas and juice fall on oneself as well as the bag thereby ruining vachetta strap and handles in Monogram print!! I’m in my 50s, my height is 5’3”, I’m a plus size woman and I dress traditionally and extremely conservatively. I carry the following essentials in my bag i.e. Sarah wallet, iPhone 7 plus, DE cosmetic pouch PM (1 lipsticks, 1pen, dry facial tissues, wet wipes & miscellaneous items), 6ring key holder, DE cles (coins), mini pochette (medicines) and my reading glasses. Will a Speedy Bandouilere 30 in Damier Ebene be able to handle all this weight? But if my shoulder, neck and back pains start with shoulder/crossbody strap (Speedy Bandouilere 30) digging onto my shoulder, then how can I reduce the discomfort? What should I do? Can you please suggest anyway to “soften” hand held handles & crossbody strap of Speedy Bandouilere 30? Or Speedy Bandouilere 30 in Monogram canvas is the only way to go?? Probably better without the organizer. I lay things in rows instead and it stays in place because this bag is small enough, unlike the speedy 30 where an organizer would probably really help. Thank you for this video! I love LV bags 💕

I’m planning to purchase the Speedy B 25 in DE since I love the monogram version so much. It’s been so useful on trips. The DE version would be more carefree. As of now, I cover the vachetta as best as possible on my bag like a mad woman if/when it rains unexpectedly.

I love the Speedy shape as it has that bucket theme and it's special because it has the hardware clasp in the right place for the straps, on both ends. I dislike on the Alma bb the way the strap attaches to the hardware on the handles, it seems it might harm the handles and the drape over time. I agree that the damier ebene strap is very stiff and it's bothered me tbh. What I mean is, it doesn't seem like leather, it seems like a hard plastic. I am not trying to insult this brand, but how do you feel about it?

Hello!! Love your bag comparison video!!! The De definitely gets wrinkles down the side of the bag too or had them when I purchased it in 2015 and I didn't notice. I live in a rainy climate too but just moved here a year ago. The newer hardware tarnishes very quickly in comparison to the older hardware from 2013 and back. My 2015 pull tabs and locks are very tarnished compared to hardware Ive had since 2003!!! The quality is incomparable and definitely gone down hill. Its really sad to pay so much more for all these newer items when the older ones were made so much better!!

What brand is the watch that you are wearing?

I have the Speedy 30 Bandouliere in DE. I am considering purchasing the Speedy 25 Bandouliere in the Monogram print so that I can wear it crossbody as well. My Speedy B 30 is great for an everyday bag but I do agree with you on the size of the bag as a crossbody as well as the strap digging in. My question to you is on the weather conditions. How does your monogram hold up in wet weather and how do you get it to patina so that weather won't affect the leather? I'm very careful with my bags so mine look new forever even though I carry them daily. Thank you in advance for you time......
