Mary the best way and the only way to get rid of bad scents are the silica gel packets, the ones that come in the box with different items like shoes or bags. I tested everything is out there to get rid of a really strong smell of cigarets from 2 LV items bought from the same seller, which of course didn’t mention about the smell. The silica gel packets removed entirely the smell from a 6 key holder in Empreinte leather, it even left the item smelling like new again, you could smell only the leather, and from the other item, a cosmetic pouch it removed the odour by 90% I can say I am fine with that. Eventually after using the item the smell will completely go away. Love your videos Mary🥰!

The next time I have a smelly bag problem, I will try your recommendation 😁. Are these silicia packets available on amazon? I do have some flying randomly around (from boxes of shoes and stuff 😁), but I‘m not sure, if the few I already have, would be enough 🤔
@@LuMiLevelUp yes, you can find them also on Ebay, they sell them also in packs of 50-100. For me 6 silica gel packs did the job, and I changed them only once after keeping them inside the items for a few days.

My hope unfortunately isn’t up that high anymore, since I‘m not sure, if I‘m willing to pay the price, most sellers ask for that bag nowadays 😅🙈. But who knows, maybe I‘ll find a great deal one day 🤞

Interesting story. I hope you're bag arrives but I agree that it's not looking good. I have a similar story. One of my first LV purchases was the Noe GM. I ruined it by cleaning it improperly. Cracked the vachetta. I just bought a newer one in excellent condition for a great price (under $1,000) but it arrived with a strong cigarette odor and lots of dirt/dust inside. The smell has dissipated quite a bit but it's not gone completely. I'm trying to decide whether to keep it and clean it or send it back. I'm really on the fence about it.
My first impulse to recommend was to return it: maybe you won’t be able to get completely rid of the smell and who knows, how well the cleaning will work out. There might come another good deal in better condition. And most of the times, when we‘re not head over heels with a piece from the first impression, it won’t get better over time 😅. Curious to see your decision in an upcoming video. My Speedy B purchase unfortunately really got canceled, shortly after filming that video 😒 - I expected it, but still I‘m somewhat disappointed…

I was trying to see if I could go for that method last week for a bag coming from Italy but the option wasn't available at check-out. I had the impression that within Europe I could do this or is it within the Eurozone? Which, if so, then explains why I can't...? 🤔
As far as I know, there have to be multiple criterias met, so that direct shipping is available: it must be in Europe (not sure about Eurozone🤔), the seller must have successfully sold some items before, that did match the description and it may not be more than a certain amout.. I thought it’s 500€, but I think I would have been able to chose direct shipping on that Speedy, which was more than 500€🤔 ). Maybe your seller is still quite new and hasn’t sold enough by now, to be eligible for direct shipping?

I was wondering what happens if a seller sends a bag to Vestiare Collective or any other reseller and they find it isn’t authentic. That would be fraud so what happens to the owner. I guess they can claim that they thought it was authentic. If not they’re trying to scam the reseller.😖😖😖
I know that with VC unfortunately nothing happens at all: the purchase gets canceled and they even offer the seller to get the item back, if he pays for the shipping. The account doesn’t get blocked or anything and can continue to sell other stuff 🤭 - cause like you say: it‘s hard to prove, if it was on purpose or not knowing better. At least if it‘s a „one time online“, I don’t know if they handle it differently, when it happens more often…
I’m really sorry that you got a bag that had an odor, but it was very funny when you referred to it in the video as your “smelly weed bag”. How awful! I definitely understand why you wouldn’t have been able to take that one out. I mean, taking it to work: can you imagine? Human Resources would be sending you off for drug tests! Buying a speedy 30 with initials and a bit black keys (owner did keep it inside bag but turned like this) but besides that is practically new, including packaging, receipt and bag from store. From 2015. She even sent me some videos, the bag is new besides that. BTW comes with brown box and bag... For 650eur...what do you think? She's a seller from my country. I am worried for the initials on the handle & the keys not being shinny and gold on the top part... 😄 Thanks dear!
Do you plan to wear the bag with a twilly or are it your own initials that do match you? Cause it‘s impossible to remove them. The keys wouldn’t bother me at all, I hardly ever use them to open and close the lock.. the price is good for a Speedy in very good condition, but hot stamped initials make it harder to ever sell the bag on again 🤔

Anyway after 3 or 4 days searching I turned up with the same seller, she was nice, she got videos, and box etc etc and it was not exactly as I wanted to be, but hey better than to spend 1150 EUR now LoL The letters do not match me 🤣🤣 but yeah a Twilly will work and at the end I did a good purchase for the money value 🥰 in a few days will be home and we'll see... 😉😉😍 thanks!
