I love to get Peroni on tap at our favorite pizzeria. It pairs so well with the awesome cheese pizza that they have. Darn now I am hungry for a pizza and a Peroni! Cheers!

@@hittingtax2670 No the tap version is an actually different experience. Same as trying some adjunct lagers in various containers can seem to bend the flavor a bit. Yeah the tap version does taste fresher. And it does go great with some good pizza 👍😊

Picked this both up only on sale, $5.00 a six pack, brings back my very early days drinking beer, You brought up “Stella” now that is my larger of choice, that does go on sale too at the same price point I mention for these ones, but not too often since it is so widely popular, they no problem selling it at the regular price, but when I purchase these beers I only get them in cans, no sunk, green bottles not good at keep out the heat here in NV

Just picked up a 24 oz can and was amazed to find that I could taste the hops. And I don't mean a little. A lot of Hops. Never noticed this before. Hmmm.....

Tasting Peroni for first time will give you very good impression, because it's on the sweet side, but Heineken is for drinking in the long run.

@@ronaldtheriot I guess the main difference for me atleast, Is I can taste is the Hop extract in the Heineken. Maybe Peroni uses real hops or the Maize adjunct makes it so I cant tell its hop extract.

Great review! I like both, but find myself drinking Heineken more frequently. That said, I really don't have a preference. I like them both.

also - have heineken much more often due to greater availability - but think Peroni easily holds its own against it, even if i might rate Heineken just a slight edge - cant go wrong with either for this style

Good review, enjoyed hearing your take & i'm a fan of each so wanted to get your 2 cents on these two side by side. Even though Peroni has the corn i think it's well hidden and to my taste buds at least less noticeable than say in Stella Artois, for which you also compared to Heineken (and chose heiny as the winner to which i agree). Back to these 2 - agree it's super close, gun to my head might give the very slightest edge to Heineken but its a small edge. Always look for Peroni when at an Italian restaurant and especially when they have it on tap in the signature Peroni glasses which are kinda cool.

Both of these get skunked at times, you'll be lucky if they're not. But at least they both come in cans. Still, they're both incredibly fantastic.

Despite the one all malt vs other not - i really do think these 2 beers compare pretty well against each other and make/ made for a worthwhile matchup or comparsion. Another nice video & review as always!

Just cracked one open for the first time in a long time today. I love this beer. It’s got a *little* of that skunk that you associate with German beers (and Dutch)… but a little lighter and more refreshing. I love this with some nice Italian deli meats while I watch a little soccer. 🍻

Had the pleasure of having the Peroni in a bottle with no skunky nose! I figured that was because I got a 12 pack which was completely sealed in its cardboard box (no light). The 6 packs here in Canada anyway, are open top which lets light into the green bottle. Solid 7.5 to 8/10 lager. That is a really nice ball cap there, always like Cleveland. Cheers.

Great taste challenge Ron. I’ve had Peroni once and Heineken multiple times. Heineken is a go-to of mine when choices are very limited for single servings at certain locations out-&-about. Casino for example.

Haven't had Heineken in a long time, so I have to go off of what I remember, which is that Heineken is pretty good, although I don't think it'd ever be my go-to. Peroni I have had more recently and more frequently (and it did always kind of remind me of Heineken, at least my memory of it). I like it quite a bit, although it really depends on the mood I am in. I am also a bit biased toward Peroni, as I am quite a fan of Italy and Italian stuff.

Peroni is #1. Not as bitter as Heine. Neither pair well with Mexican. Make sure you buy both in a 12 pack. The cardboard ahields it from the sun/skunkiness

My only experience with Birra Peroni was an incredibly skunky 6-Pack of Nastro Azzurro. It allegedly had 5 Months of shelf life remaining, so must have been mishandled by the distributor or vendor. Similarly, most of my previous experiences with Heineken - dating back 40 years - were at least slightly skunked; so consistently so, that I believed it was brewed to taste that way

Had Peroni for the first time this year. Wasn't too impressed with it. Is it better than Heineken, I couldn't really say. I do know you cant find Peroni for any cheaper than 9.99 a 6 pack around here. I don't remember how much Heineken costs because I havent had it in a while but I think its still less than 9 bucks a 6 pack. I think you're better off to get Peroni at an Italian restaurant on tap instead.

I tried Peroni recently at a pizzeria. It has just a mild skunk to it but not an unbearable skunk like Heineken. I must say I quite fancied Peroni and went perfectly with my pizza pie. Peroni and Stella are my preferred euro beers thus far. 🍕🍺

It's OK and passable of course but by euro standards it's always been a lower tier/ not so great offering despite what the AB Inbev marketing hype tries to make people believe. Just learned today at lunch - guessing you already knew- when having lunch at an Italian/pizza place in Hampton VA that discontinued sales of Peroni due to low sales so went with Stella on tap instead - that now Stella is being brewed at AB plants in the US like Beck's has for close to a decade. Was mediocre by Euro standards already and this is not gonna help - it hurt both the Beck's and St Pauli Girl too but i don't care because never been a huge Stella fan anyway as already detailed.

A couple times lately, my Kroger has been out of Beck's and I've bought Peroni. And I have enjoyed it. But I'd prefer Beck's. I don't buy Heineken, no particular reason. But if Taylor Heinicke becomes the starting QB for the Washington Team That Dare Not Speak its Name, I might just switch on Sundays! Mah boy played at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, the largest college in Virginia by a good margin. I think the Peroni has a tad more pilsner taste to it. I know it's a lager.

I actually prefer Peroni over Heineken. While Heineken has a more hoppy flavor, Peroni is more enjoyable as a session beer. Heineken makes me feel too bloated after a few, unlike Peroni which I can drink longer without that uncomfortable feeling. By the way, these “versus “ videos are a good idea for these beers to go toe to toe with each other. Cheers!

We I definitely have access to Michigan crafts and right now we have some awesome craftsman coming out for fall. IPA Stouts Porters Craft Pilsners/Lagers You name it.
