This Louisiana native gives this recipe two thumbs up. 👍🏾👍🏾😁 Of course dry beans are best but canned beans are great for a quick weekday meal, or when time doesn't permit for dry beans to cook. It took me years to learn about the mashing trick. Couldn't figure out why my beans would taste delicious, but wouldn't be creamy like everyone else's. I've been mashing ever since. 🤗Thanks for this suggestion, I will make this soon.
That looks so good! This was pretty popular at the bar I used to cook at pre covid and we would also add bay leaves to our rice to add that flavor to the rice too! So yummy 😋

Came out great! Though I'm not a fan of spices so much. I recommend anyone to use half the amount of Cayenne spice and no black pepper, if you're like me.
