Marquez refuses to take accountability and that’s so frustrating. If he were in his kids life, there’d be no hole for Ken to fill. He’s acting like he doesn’t understand that. 4. Marquez is delusional. Im not going to fault anyone for wanting to make a decision to leave a marriage or relationship even if there are small kids involved. Everyone should have the right to end a marriage or realtionship that they arent happy in. But what I do find major fault in is when a marriage/situation ends and the man's relationship and responsibilities to and for the children stop also. I dont get why do some men feel like the only way the are going to take care of their own child is if they still have a realtionship with the mother. Regardless if you are a married, single or a divorced parent and regardless of how a child was conceived( in marriage or a mistake) nothing should stop you from being an active parent. There is no excuse. I dont understand how some men can go days and years and dont see or talk to their children.

Marsau was just the right messenger in my opinion. He’s the epitome of a man staying 10 toes down with his family and protecting the lives of the most important people in the world-his kids. Yes, he has an antiquated idea of gender roles but I believe Latisha knew what she was signing up for. She knew she was getting a hard working man who was going to give her a beautiful life, beautiful homes, and beautiful children in exchange for her being the nurturer of all those things. That dynamic isn’t wrong, it’s just different from what we’re used to. America was built on the working man and stay at home mom (who worked equally as hard). Latisha didn’t care about sharing responsibility and being a businesswoman until they got on tv, she said it herself. I’m saying, cut Marsau some slack. He and Maurice obviously care deeply for their children and because they grew up in a poor and broken home, their priority is to make sure their children don’t. I respect breaking the cycle. I believe Marsau’s view of fatherhood is a little outdated, but not skewed. Marsau believes in being present and being a provider. That’s what American families were built on. I don’t think that makes him a bad father. He genuinely believes in putting the family first and raising children in stability. I respect that.

Happiness is overrated. If you going to leave as soon as you are not happy, don't get married. Ride or die friends don't leave because you are going through something and treating them a certain way, because they KNOW YOU. Marriage vows is for a reason, they say in good times and hard times, because hard times will come. Unless there is danger emotionally, physically, psychological you stay and try. But, it is for mature responsible people to stay. If you cannot do it responsibly meaning don't involve your children, get out to have some hard conversation so you don't scar your children then you have to leave. When kids are involved on top of it, it bcomes even more important bc divorce is hard on a lot more than just the couple. We unfortunately don’t have a lot of examples of what hlthy marriages look like with reg ups/dwns, good/boring/hard/joyous times, grwth, etc. So much deeper and more serious than we understand. But sadly, u have to have 2 ppl that BOTH want to try & work to keep a marriage growing and alive.

I’m sorry but but the kids are wrong. They are grown adults whose parents are still taking care of them. Nell is right to be made and dismiss the idea of therapy only because in her trying to establish boundaries and telling them they’re being cut off and she’s no longer being the atm now suddenly she needs therapy. Nell showed her slip the minute she began yelling when the oldest son began to talk. The yelling and cursing is very toxic and unhealthy. If Nell's children paid back every single penny that they received from her, she would still be yelling and cursing at them about something. Nell uses the money as leverage over them to control them. They're not going to refuse it, but her children want more from her. Nell needs to go to therapy alone and work out why she has to be in control so much! Overall, this was a really good episode. Oh I was screaming at the tv right message wrong messenger. You are right about communication with your children. I don’t have kids either, but when my daddy knew he couldn’t stay with my mama no more he sat me down at 13 and told me why he was leaving. He told me that he will always be a call away, and if I wanted to stay with him I could. By 15 they divorced after 15 years of marriage, he passed when I was 19. I always knew that my daddy loved me and I had no bad feelings about him even to this day. So communication is important cause that right there can cause a little girl daddy issues and boys to be bitter adults. I cried when Nell apologized to her kids that makes a big difference, little do she know your kids need to hear I’m sorry. I wish my mother would’ve gotten therapy before she left this earth things could’ve been different with my sis and I relationship with her.

Do you know how much Marsau works? It’s easy to drop the ball when you’re trying to build. Personally, my husband’s a damn good father and when he takes the kids to the doctor, I can expect him to call 2-3 times asking random questions. You know why? Because he works 60+ hours a week to make sure we have a great life and he doesn’t know everything that goes on day to day. I work as well but I’m with the children more and I know every single hair on their body. I also know that if I decided to quit my job today, we would never be hungry and bills will always be paid. My daughters know that they’ll never have to wonder what a man’s respect, protection and provision feels like. My son will always say that his dad was the first to teach him to shoot a ball, change a tire, and be a man of honor. That means everything to me.
