Love & Best Dishes: Baked Pimento Cheese Dip 

Enjoyed the video and I'm going to make the dip! I really liked watching Father John cooking in the kitchen with Paula, please have him visit more. And I always enjoy watching Eddie cook, maybe he can make more of the dishes his mother made growing up. Thanks for making these videos, it is a bright spot in my day!! :)

What does Claudia not like in mayo--it's just oil, egg and lemon juice with a pinch of salt. It's basically a sauce. I can eat Duke's mayo with a spoon! It's not sour like yogurt and sour cream. If you hadn't told her it was in there, she would've loved it.

Loved this episode! Father John married me and my wife at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Albany way back in 1986. It was good to see him again!

My son is a cook now, but when he was little he said the reason my sisters mess things up is because they don't read the recipe. You have to read it to get it right. He was always a great cook!

Im the exact same as Claudia with mayonnaise. I didn’t grow up on a farm-quite the opposite-but we did have chickens in the backyard. And I was the one who collected the eggs. And I don’t know if we were doing something wrong or if this is always the case, but eggs come covered in something not so pleasant. I was about 8 years old and didn’t know what I was doing. I guess my parents washed them off after I brought them in. But I would not eat anything after that where I could see eggs in it. Then because these were fresh eggs, they had such a strong flavor you could notice the taste in things like waffles, etc. They had a really deep color and very strong taste. So I even stopped eating all baked goods with eggs. Now, I have a don’t-ask policy. There are things that probably have eggs in them, but if I don’t know, I’m OK and just eat it. But things like mayonnaise where it’s just egg and oil mixed together-that’s a no go. And I do the exact same thing with substituting sour cream.

Wow! Just read the comments, I thought watching; Great entertainment! Father John really truly has an interest in cooking, blending the ingredients so well led to a perfect dip. Just a hoot, so sad people took time to be “the critic” & not revel in learning the best Super Bowl dip. A unique fun food which I imagine few have had & it’s Served Hot! (for a brrrrr cold freezing game day over most of Continental USA! ) Tampa Bay shall be cold for Us....Joy!!!

Father John did a great job on his first recipe! Of course, look who's teaching him. But he just got in there mixing up and getting everything incorporated. I think he'll do just fine learning how to cook. We're assembling some great dips for the big game! Nice to see occasional close family and friends stop by. Love you guys! 💞❤️

Doc Martin! Come on Paula! That has been a timeless brand that was super popular in the 90’s but more decades than that! Bless Father John’s heart he is like a new baby trying to walk with his cooking skills but if we started trying to offer liturgy/sacrifice of the Mass then I am sure we would have some issues! He also hurt himself from the heat and probably the spice/picante from those Jalapeños!

Paula I know you hate goat cheese and yes from the store it’s awful but we have dairy goats and it’s way better homemade when we make it it don’t have a goat taste it’s really good and the milk is delicious as well we do a lot with it and we love you girl and can’t wait too try this recipe

So, I'm trying to think of my hard-line with food...what is that one thing I just hate and will not abide. Well, there's not many foods that I won't at least try, but I would say my hard-line is sea cucumber (which is actually an animal). I just don't care for squishy cold raw animal dishes. But, I bet if I came across a cook who is really into sea cucumber and who presented and prepared that in a magnificent way, I might just like it. So, when food is properly prepared, I don't think I really have any hard-lines.

Does Claud not use oil and raw egg yolks in her cooking? That's what makes mayonnaise.Why would she prefer sour cream? No egg yolks?? Vegan?

Doc Martens. I used to wear those in the 80's. Punks wore them initially in the fashion sense. A British brand since 1901. 🇬🇧 then moved to Munich. Claudia is wearing the 1460 bed smooth leather platforms I believe.

Why does she always pronounce her name wrong? In America, it's 'Claud' with a short 'a'...not 'Claud' like a cloud you float on?

Also, if you don't like store bought mayonnaise (like myself), you could easily just put in a healthier unrefined oil of your choice and one egg to replace it with (a pinch of mustard and splash of vinegar if you wanna be real precise).
