@@DizzLexic I'm not diabetic & only eat desserts on special occasions. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy watching someone whip up a tasty treat. Her son Bobby & his wife would agree with you, I suppose. They are focused on healthy eating. The wife won't even taste anything prepared with mayo.

Looks YUMMY. My wife makes a Strawberry also. She has a secret ingredient that she puts in hers that when people eat it they say it’s the best they’ve eaten. One woman said that it was better than her Moms cake, but don’t tell her, also a woman that didn’t like strawberry cake took a bite & she’s hooked on it. Miss Paula I hope that you don’t get offended by what I said, I’m proud of my beautiful bride, been together since 1974. I wouldn’t want a new model, they’re not made like her anymore. Have a blessed day, P.S. you & the Pioneer Woman are the only cooks that she’ll watch

Thanks! I did not know at first until she said Bobby's house but did not know it was because of a renovation. I looked it up and I found something that said she was selling her home but I didn't know if that was correct or not.

I doubled the recipe and baked it at 325 in two ten inch layers for my grandson’s birthday. Since he wanted an aquarium theme, I passed on the strawberry frosting and used my usual buttercream tinted ocean blue. It was a hit at the party.

Paula I’m sure this has come up but with the cake mixes going from 18oz to 15.5 oz, does it affect the recipe and the ingredients? Should have adjustments?

I have a 7 minute strawberry (frozen berries) frosting that makes a huge batch that would be good on this as well. This would be great with freeze dried strawberries in the batter.

In the Paula Deen recipe on her site, it says to add the Strawberry puree directly into the cake batter as well as the icing.

I think I want to sub my strawberry crunch cake recipe for this one, and just add the crunch to this recipe in stead. Yummy, cant wait to try this for thanksgiving 2021. Mommy loved you and she'd be so proud. I wish she could taste it, but I lost her to cancer July 2020. Miss you Mommy!!

Making this today 🍓 while watching this video. My oldest son still likes to keep the mixing spoons and he got super excited to taste this one. I found one on YT that even has a link to a printable recipe and it looks delicious. It won't be a quick cake, but it does look wonderful! Let us know how it turns out if you make it! That soft pink makes a beautiful cake! I don't think it would be nearly as pretty if you added food coloring, but then there would be nothing wrong if some liked it brighter!

I finally had to order some good aluminum pans from USA pans. I got one with a non-stick coating for pineapple upside down cake and some round and others square that weren't nonstick. Wish you still had yours available. Thanks for sharing. Have a Blessed Day.

Wow! That looks WONDERFUL! My granddaughter loves strawberries. She eats more than she puts in her bucket when we go strawberry picking! She will be 8 very soon. She always wants me to make her birthday cake. Last year about this time her .omma asked her what kind of cake she wanted and she told her momma "I think you should leave that alone and let Mimi make it because Mimi is a professional! " That is soooo far from the truth but it sure made me laugh! I usually do something strawberry and I think this recipe will be her next birthday cake! Thank you so much for saving the day!!

Hey Paula. (Around here, 'Hey' covers all greetings and salutations : ) I used to crush or puree strawberries and add to muffins and yellow cake at the end of strawberry season (or frozen strawberries.) When I was younger I made everything from scratch, but I honestly like the taste and texture boxed cake mix. When I wanted something other than vanilla buttercream I added strawberry preserves to the frosting,(1/4 cups or to taste). Such a pretty delicate pink. I bet this was delicious.

Isn't that a halogen cook top? Induction only heats the pan and doesn't glow red when being used. I had halogen for 6 years but went back to gas.

I must say my cake could have been much better. I did not see a recipe so I followed alone with you and what you said. I looked at the video a few times and never did I hear you say to put strawberry purée other than the icing. It was my Grandaughter’s birthday and she wanted a strawberry cake. Would you correct this video and mention how much of the purée goes into the cake mix, if any. I did see the container of frozen purée. I did wonder why puree a full bag of frozen strawberries if you’re going to use only 1/4.

I enjoy watching your videos! My husband wanted Paula and Teresa to know that the electric cooktop you are using is NOT an induction cooktop. They refer to it as “induction” in several videos. There’s a huge difference between the conventional radiant cooktop Paula uses in this video and an induction cooktop.
